Hopefully she keeps it that way. It's sad that some people don't know how to behave online. But I hope, she will focus on her loving fans and nice comments.

^ sad. Though understandable, she ain’t got time to deal with all that bad energy. Just infuriates me how People love to throw rocks on things that shine.

It's a vicious cycle. She tries to be more approachable to fans but then it just amounts this the same thing each time. Sad.

I hope she does open herself up to fans again on social media someday - it'd be nice to comment and leave her a nice message, there's always going to be haters unfortunately. There's also the issue of fan criticism also though - in turning off comments, her team aren't able to see genuine comments of constructive feedback.

It will be painless only if her fanbase decrease to few thousands

Such a shame, but it's better for her.

Well the hate comments obviously do, so she must read and scroll through them. :P Ayu's has presented herself as an artist who has an interest in fan suggestions (i.e. Mirrorcle World becoming a full track), it doesn't seem like such a strange occurrence, particularly if it is being written by many fans. :shrug

The new Mariah x Bryan Tanaka, yaaaassss

Most of the time the fandom try sending her constructive feedback it's either people complaining something is objectivelly bad because they didn't like it or calling her fat, so...

Had her taken the fan sugestions full attention, her career would be far over now.

Hence why I wrote 'genuine' - complaints and fat-shaming aren't constructive at all, and shouldn't be considered so. i.e. constructive feedback could be considered comments by the the fans that very clearly expressed in 2008 that Mirror should be a full track, because it was awesome and had potential.

Also, I didn't mention in my original post that Ayu should fully adhere to the comments of fans. Fans are not music industry professionals, but it is important for a pop artist to have avenues to understand how their audience is currently perceiving their music and other endeavors, and social media is one of the most rich places to derive that from (even though it sucks that it facilitates some the worst of anonymous hate).

What I do agree with is the wellbeing of Ayu - if she feels healthier being off social media, then I support her. :love But I feel it is worth mentioning that she has lost some connection with her audience in doing so. It's an interesting conversation topic, particularly as Ayu has always seemingly facilitated this sense of openness with her audience (whether this was more perception than truth is another point of debate, and differentiates with her respective 'eras'). However, I'm sure she's considered this, and has weighed up the pros and cons of having comments closed. :shrug

I feel that the whole Mirror --> Mirrorcle World thing was over 10 years ago and things aren't that "simple" anymore. I don't remember there being as much hate and trolling aimed at her back then, so maybe she would have been more open to suggestions or requests. I do remember her being genuinely hurt and voicing so when she started getting a lot more negativity on twitter, particularly around a-nation 2011. People were nasty and ruthless (I think it was mostly Japanese fans who did most of the trolling) and it was shortly after that that she moved off twitter.

So its the fans that have pushed her away, really. I personally don't blame her for keeping her distance on social media. She gets enough sh*t as it is without opening her own personal floodgates and being torn down by people who think they are giving her advice, constructive or not. :shrug

It's fine if it's casual and as long as she doesn't do what she did with grass boy. He is likely far too young for a serious relationship though and before anyone gets their knickers twisted, I say this because different age groups want different things and are at different stages in their lives and maturity. Yes, sometimes it does work but it's very rare and not to be rushed into.. Also Tanaka is 35 and Carey 48, that's only 13 years, Ayu is 40 and isn't Pei like 20? Thats his entire lifespan difference

It looks like they were celebrating Pei's coming of age day. It kinda looks like he is taking KO's old role though as her 'bestie' or something. Pei was also the one who had insane drama when he was on because of underage smoking photos and such, iirc... so maybe she's taking him under her wing a bit?

Unless she confirms it, it's not true. The only evidence we have are social media photos. She goes out with her dancers all the time.

昔、友達がため息まじりにつぶやいてた。

彼女はトランスジェンダー。
書類の性別欄を見るたびに、どう書けばいいかわからなくて不安になるらしい。

戸籍を変えたわけでもない、ホルモン剤は飲んでいるけれど体は男性のまま。

もし性別を記入しなかったら、書類の「不備」で受け取ってもらえない。
でももし「男」に丸をつけてしまったら、自分は女性だ！っていう思いが「なかったこと」になってしまう。 

「お前は普通じゃない、って言われてるみたいでマジでキツい」

って彼女は言ってた。

2020年の春、公立高校の入試の願書から性別欄が消える。
性別欄を廃止するのは、神奈川県、福岡県といった14道府県。
セクシュアルマイノリティーへの「配慮」が理由なんだって。

考えてみれば、高校の入試の願書に性別を書く必要ってない。

だって高校入試は、その学校に見合った学力のある子を選ぶためにあるんだから。
試験にパスできる力があるなら、性別は特に気にしなくてもいいよね。
自分の体と心の性別に違和感がある人にとっては、性別欄が消えることで、なくてもいいストレスを感じずにす むのかも。

でもちょっと思うのが、性別欄をなくすことだけが「配慮」なのかな？ってこと。

この文の最初↑で話した彼女は、ほとんど学校を休んでた。
彼女が学校に行ってなかった、行けなかった理由って、たぶん性別欄だけが原因じゃない。

私たちが暮らしてる社会って、思った以上に「男」と「女」に分かれてる。

学校なんか特に、トイレ、成績表、部活の顧問に出す書類、制服、体育の時間…いろんなところに、みんなが男 と女のどちらかに別れるはずだっていう前提が隠れてる。

女友だちと話す「今彼氏いるの？」っていう雑談にだって「あなたの恋愛対象は異性なんでしょ？」っていう当 たり前が入ってる。

もしかしたら彼女は、周りや社会から降ってくる共通前提になじめなくて、苦しくなってしまったのかもしれな い。

「配慮」ってたぶん、性別欄を廃止する、みたいに世の中の仕組みがただ変わるだけだとあんまり意味はなくて 

仕組みが変わることで、みんなで「私が当たり前だと思っていることは、隣のあの子にとっては全然違うのかも 」って、「私とあなたって全然違うけど両方ともアリだよね」って、思えるようになることに意味があるんじゃ ないかって思う。

で、そういう考え方って性別に関することだけじゃなくて、どんな人や物事に対しても言えること 。

「男であっても女であっても、どんな性のあり方をしていてもいいじゃん。面白いじゃん」

って言えるような未来って意外とすぐそこにきてる。
社会が勝手に変わるんじゃない、私たちが変わるから社会を変えられるんだ。

nope we first saw it on her naked talk shoot with Vivi back in 2010

there is an instagram picture of ayu and her ex husband on the beach where it is visible (but no closeup).

I never saw that tattoo in that photo shoot and it isn't visible during countdown 18-19

It was also visible in color on a shoot similiar to naked talk. IIRC it’s from 2013 or 2014... :)

It must be due to some ranking on TBS show. From those few tweets I threw into online translators I understand it was about female artists singles sales ranking of the Heisei period, she ranked #2 behind AKB.

Yeah, they were showing SEASONS as one of the biggest sales in Japan or something and then BLUE BIRD.

About the tattoo, I believe they erase it in Photoshop is most of the times and also she must wear make up to cover it sometimes. We haven't seen the Tomoya Nagase matching tattoos until it appears by accident in the 1LOVE PV. So she knows how to hide it or cover it.

OT: I wonder how tomoya covered up his ayu tattoo?

Some tabloid said that he laser removed it.

One of my fave looks, both for her and myself. I was really feeling the baggy shirt + shorts + knee-high socks last fall before it got too cold for shorts ahaha

Is this not photoshopped? I simply cant imagine ayu walking in tokyo (shibuya cross) and stood there for a photo where no one notices!! how is that even possible!

Tokyo is very, very crowded. If she's wearing those sunnies and a hat she would blend in pretty well.

I think the majority of people in Japan would not care about her to take pictures in the middle of the street. Also I guess most people in Japan respect her privacy and private life even she is in the public.

I had the same surprise reaction of her not being noticed back when this photo was published. But just like the recent picture, I guess it's because of the big sunglasses.

Yeah, she was really there. She even posted about being in a line to buy the Harajuku Crepes with Miccie.

I was there on the same day and probably same time as her lol I was so mad!! So close!!!

But the thing is that, I don't think is easy to recognize her because there's so many Japanese girls that look exactly like her. The style, the hair, the accessories. So only if people really know how she dresses nowadays or fans that can easily recognize her. I showed my japanese friends (that are not ayu fans) this picture and they were like: oh yeah, I don't think I would recognize her at all.
