^Oh, extremely gaudy. That golden dollar thing on a marble wall? And the marble slats don't even match each other. Looking at the pictures of her house, it's hard to imagine how she became a style icon lol

You all act like her public persona style wasn't as messy as her house design haha (shady, but I couldn't resist)

I mean...if we're being honest, a lot of her personal fashion and even things she wore to lives back in the day were not cute, even for early 2000s standards.

I find a lot of old ayu imagery charming in part because she seems so imperfect in a way.

The home is another story lol. I do love the marble though and the rooftop garden/whatever she has going on up there. I dont mind most of her decor, but that golden dollar thing...is a choice.

That reminds me when I look up the most expensive homes near me on Zillow and most of them are so gaudy. Just because you can afford doesn't mean it looks good

I disagree. The definition of what good interior design is in Japan is very different to the rest of the world. What they consider expensive and luxury is what an average European would consider kitsch and poor taste. It’s not just ayu’s house, it’s the expensive hotels and restaurants that also have this awful kind of interior design all over Japan. In a country where the majority of buildings look like they were made out of legos where, except, from places that have a more traditional feel to them, I’d say we shouldn’t associate someone’s general taste nor an ability to build an appealing image with their awful taste in furniture 😁

^Also, it's not like Ayu's taste wasn't busy and a at any moment lol. Her fashion sense has its moments of being subdue, but during tours and PVs it was always pretty clear she loves her stuff to be over the top.

All I thought when I saw that picture is that her dog probably has a liver shunt. Pure breeds are such medical disasters.

Plenty of hotels I’ve been to in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto that go for a more “western” look remind me of her house. The one in Kyoto was a love hotel though xD

that doesn't look like a photo from a professional Leslie-tier camera to me :laugh the image is from a seemingly joint account of Leslie and his husband so it's possible that Joshua was the one who took it. (though I don't recall seeing him on stage with Leslie when this happened haha)

I think the reason it looks so bad is because the photo was compressed for Instagram. I hope he will publish the full sized photos at a later date.

No, it's just a bad photo. Which is not surprising, because he just took a pic very quickly without even trying.

A lot of the photos they posted look more like cellphone shots of the screen so probably more that than anything. Doubt any of them came from the usual camera he uses.

I genuinelly hope she knows what that text on her jumper means in the photo she just posted on instagram LOL
