Ayu's videos pulled out from Avex's YT account and reuploaded to Ayu's profile!
 

I was looking for the SURREAL video and then I noticed that all her videos are offline!
There's only the short versions from her official page :(
I know Avex is the ultimate definition of greed, but is there a reason why they did this?

We got the Distance Love project joined together now. She also uploaded Bold & Delicious -SIDE STORY-(album version) and M (Above & Beyond remix), were those on the avex account too? I can't remember.:tipsy

It seems that they are re-uploading full versions of her music videos.
The question is how long will they stay there before they pull them down again

But does this have to do with YouTube Premium?

I was probably checking both channels at the time they were doing this. :)

we thought they weren't coming back. and they were 1080p (aka A COMPLETE BOX uploads) on avex's channel, now they're 480p. and I didn't see "a lot" of drama? lol

I do like that her videos are on her own account now because I feel like it's easier that way. They won't get lost in avex's hundreds of uploads now. But the downgrade to 480p is sad. Why? Removing videos and replacing them with lower resolution video is ridiculous.

They were all in 1080p before, all the way back to poker face. Now only recent videos are HD it seems.

Because they still want people to buy her compilations, this is just a tease for the HQ thing in the disc I guess ?. But it sucks, same thing happened to Perfume's videos they were uploaded in Low resolution. This is not youtube from 2006 :/

And here I was looking forward to replacing the few videos I still only have in 720p for the 1080p versions. I don't understand business decisions like these (and I'm sure that's all this is)

The business decision here is making sure people still need to buy the HD videos if they want them.

Then they need to update that 4-disc clip box from, what...2011?

They still can sell the overpriced CD+DVD albums :P

Yep, Avex is really bad to upload short version of videos from 20 years ago too, despite DVD compilations of the videos being long out of print.

Yes actually. When you select a resolution or quality when you’re playing a video (typically a higher resolution) youtube supposedly remembers it and automatically sets to it from that point on. Unless you have a poor internet connection, a video you watch has a lower resolution than what you’ve selected before, or if you pick another resolution which would reset it.


I have a suspicion that Avex is slowly dumping her assets and whatnot since she’s not as popular nor profitable anymore.

Guys, there's something I wanted to say. At first, when the full videos got released on 480p on Ayu's YouTube channel, I noticed something different about the "WHATEVER" PV. Because in the original edit of the opening scene, after her name and the song title showed up and fades, it shows the two shadows of Ayu merge and fades into one Ayu. But when the full video came out in 480p, it shows a different edit of Ayu's entrance. Instead, after her name and the song title showed up and fades, it shows Ayu fading in instead of the two shadows of her merging into one.

So, since it's upgraded into 1080p quality, the different Ayu's entrance version uploaded in Ayu's YouTube channel (which is only 480p) was replaced. I missed that different version tho.

EDIT: I wonder if anyone still has the first 480p version of WHATEVER uploaded on Ayu's YouTube Channel.
