Only the latter half is for premium members now, the first half is free for everybody. Hope somebody records it, cause I'm working tomorrow. Universe Tour is premiering now on Youtube.
Don't know if it's going to be permanent or only for a limited time, the description doesn't say. But it does say it's another way to make up for the cancelled re(LIVE) final. They chose Universe Tour cause it was one of the top lives in the voting for favourite live in the FC/staff survey. Kuu and her team are just sweet. Kuu also did an Insta Live yesterday (half an hour) after the Nico broadcast, where she showed the upcoming releases and directly connected with her fans (through comments). Speaking of releases Kuu confirmed the whole content of the third DVD of thr special editions of re(LIVE): https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...924/RsUf6p.png The official site still states documentary movie/MVs and more content to be announced, lol. Now we only need to know about the download card. Hope for more peformances of OMG in the future - she just has so much fun doing the song and her voice absolutely fits it, sounds so comfortable. |
There aren't that many people watching Universe live right now (around 2500), but they are very active in the live chat.
It's nice to read all those comments. :laugh There's a girl who attended Universe back then when she was 6 - now she's 16 and (still) a fan. People then also stated their age. 30,38, 40, 47, even a 13 year old, lots of different people watching. Also some non-fans. One e.g. asked which DVD this is and another said he/she is not a fan, but Kuu's fans have the image of being cheerful/pleasent and he/she likes that. |

Just watched her FC video for March, very short one this time. She talked about the livestreaming, and re(LIVE) release. A bit sad she's not hinting at new music or concerts, but now with the coronavirus spread it makes sense they won't talk much about live shows. And I know we still have a whole year to go, but I thought we'd have more stuff going on on this 20th anniv :/ I mean, she started her 10th with CWGB+Best third universe+UNIVERSE, and her 15th with WOML and its tour. It's nice we're getting the music video uploads, but I wish we were getting more hahahah Maybe I was just too spoiled in the past lol

I don't know but considering that this's the 1st time they've done something like this , if you like what you see uploaded online , you should get the physical video release if you want even better quality of the selected concert if you could afford to The live videos avex uploaded will only stay online until end of March so it's not as though they will be on YouTube forever so for those who complain about it , I don't get it , this's something avex could chose not to do in the 1st place :shrug For now I haven't seen other record labels that're doing what avex has done . Like last night , L'Arc-en-Ciel released some ARENA TOUR MMXX digest footages on YouTube which only their fanclub members technically can access Luckily I managed to download the file cos it was only uploaded online for less than 24 hours |

Idk but that's probably cause Kuu herself treats it differently... Kuu sees music and performing as her work. One she luckily has a lot of passion and love for, but her work. She sometimes even calls it her job when she talks about it.
Ayu on the other e.g. I've always seen talking about it as her passion, the only thing she really can imagine doing, cause that's who she is. I get the feeling she's more treating it like a steady part of her life, that will never end. The approach is different, just like their reasons to sing in the first place, so I guess their teams are different as well. I'm in awe sometimes how Ayu doesn't seem be affected by any of it too much nowadays, would love to have a bit of that. :laugh Kuu on the other hand does, e.g. her stage fright seems to have gotten worse in recent years. |

I love W FACE, but visually is one of the worst. To me it's clear that the budget was for a smaller number of videos and she wanted to more with it, but sometimes less is more. Even her lip sync is off for some songs, it looked like she didn't know Ultraviolet's lyrics when shooting the video.
I only like Ultraviolet (but that's not saying much) and maybe Promise you, the rest I don't care. 1-setting-videos were her concept for W FACE as one way of challenging herself with something new, illustrating different aspects of her.
She spoke about it in interviews in 2017. I still love Ultraviolet. Her styling, the choreography, the colorful effects - it certainly works for me. Wicked Girls does, too, but it's easier with dance PVs. Kuu got some positive online news coverage again like here on Yahoo - describing her way of becoming big, then dwindling and in recent times getting more popular again, being able to change people's perception of her and receiving less "bashing". They also say we should have an eye on her, cause she might make it again. I personally don't believe that, it's also not necessary, but nevertheless nice to see such articles. |
The best PV from that album is undoubtedly "W FACE", which wasn't released on the CD+DVD version. Was it released elsewhere ?

It's going to be interesting to see how they'll count the physical sales.
Usually special and FC editions are regularly counted towards the regular edition sales, but this time the regular editions are divided in two, while the special editions contain both concerts. So does that mean the special editions will not be counted at all? Will they be listed seperately (the Loppi/HMV eiditon only then)? Or will they count the Loppi/HMV edition towards Black Cherry and the FC special edition towards Japonesque? Oricon just states in its rules that every edition of a release is counted together as long as one edition is available in retail stores and runs under the same title. |

After a first listen my fav remixes are:
- STRIP - Put your hands up!!! - again (Surprisingly I really liked a ballad remix wow) - Summer Time - SHUTOUT I'm on the fence about Merry-go-round lol There's something bittersweet about it? idk I might need to listen to it again later Also, so nice they made that performance video! Nice way to promote both the tour and the album release. But overall it's an okay remix album for me, some remixes are really simple, almost as if just the instrumental was changed, and some like DO ME sound a bit... dated? lol Too much dubstep in some moments. I guess these two things made most of the remixes not 'click' to me. I wish she'd do it like ayu someday and release remix albums with distinct styles... There's too much house and dubstep in most of hers, and there could be room for different stuff, it could spice things up a bit. |
On my first listen and woooooooow, Merry Go Round sounds like a total different song!
(like a good remix actually should imo) Making it sounding so bittersweet gives the lyrics a real new perspective. My favourite so far! Eh Yo, STRIP, GET NAKED are also nice, the whole first half till again actually. And I'd really like that k, -shadw remix- if not for that annoying siren sound being so prominent... Then we have SHUTOUT, Summer Time and DO ME being either much too similar to the originals or not being good - of course they'd promote with one I dislike, lol. OMG is a nice one again, fitting to Merry Go Round in style. From the two GOLDFINGERs I prefer the one in the first part. The 2nd k, remix sounds like an extended version,very fitting. :laugh So, apart from that weaker part in the 2nd half, not bad, absolutely not bad! Compared to DH 8 and 9, where I only love single remixes, I can see me listening to this one for the most part. DH 7 remains my favourite. |

Merry Go Round (Toki Remix) is actually pretty cool, it's quite dark for such a spring kind of song. Both k, remixes are interesting, specially KAZBONGO with the less layers of vocals. Dubstep was cute back in 2012, but now it sounds a little dated. I haven't got a chance to listen to both GOLDFINGER remixes tho. I probably won't listen those as much, since they are not available on Spotify here. The same thing happens with Rich & Famous. |

I must admit though, as excited as I am to have them, I am eternally bummed out that the special editions were DVD only. Like I guess I could double dip to have the packaging I want but that is a colossal waste of money so instead I’ll just keep whining about it lol |
