FIRST THREE SONGS ARE OUT!!

--------------------------------------

Makes sense. I wonder if this is basically gonna be like the finale show plan that was gonna happen for Saigo no Trouble. "No audience online live" is basically how this is being pitched. The show is also slated to be 60-90 minutes in length and Abema doesn't seem to support overseas viewing.

約2年ぶりの新曲『オヒアの木』を初披露。
Date for it is July 25th, 2020 and distribution starts at 7PM Japan time.

The stream will be available until August 1st, 2020.

It looks like the Abema page also kind of refers to a 90 minute runtime. (ayumi hamasaki PREMIUM LIMITED LIVE A 7月25日(土) 19:00 〜 20:30 pops up when you first load the Abema link, also "The performance is scheduled for about 60 to 90 minutes. Please note that the performance time may change slightly due to live broadcasting on the day.")

They also seem to mention that Ohia no Ki will be performed? The cost is 3500 Abema coins or around 4200yen and viewing is not available for overseas viewers.

Ohia no Ki will be performed according to the TA email I've received

"She will perform her new song "オヒアの木" for the first time!!" it said

But now I'm sad, I was considerng watching it, but it won't be available for overseas fans?? :weep that's trully upsetting

truehappiness 13th July 2020 05:50 AM

It’s likely because of Abema Pay Per View being rather limited. Someone will probably rip the show at least but it would be nice to support Ayu directly if possible. At least a-nation seems to be planned with global audiences in mind.

Anna.L 13th July 2020 05:57 AM

not avaliable for overseas?
puts

Katsuyuki012 13th July 2020 05:58 AM

I'm very happy about this & I think it's awesome we get a live performance of Ohia no Ki. I wonder whether the concert will be released with an album, if there really is gonna be one eventually.

Anna.L 13th July 2020 06:01 AM

theres a chance that this event be the trouble tour without an audience?

You may be able to with a VPN if you really wanted to, but it looks like they blocked a lot of the VPNs.

https://www.cyberagent.co.jp/en/news/detail/id=24759

It looks like this service is really new so that may explain why it's so limited.

It seems like a really stripped down show with the 60-90 minute estimated running time. Might hit some of the sameish beats as Saigo no Trouble... maybe?

Evan Odinson 13th July 2020 06:21 AM

If she sings It was I'll be happy for ever after. lol

Yeah, I definetly whould watch it (even though it clashes with Pokemon Go Fest)
Is it unavailable because of the payment system or does Abema check your IP and refuse even if you whould be able to pay? (thinking of asking a friend in japan)

truehappiness 13th July 2020 07:41 AM

Payment system seems to just be standard credit card stuff, so it's mostly an IP thing where if you access from outside of Japan, the program 'won't be available in your region'. You might be able to work around it with a VPN if you wanted.

The coin purchase screen.

Konomi Suzuki and Da-iCE also have lives pay per view and Da-iCE's is locked but Konomi's is available overseas it looks like. I wonder why they'd lock it if the option to open it up is there.

orbitalaspect 13th July 2020 07:57 AM

It seems very likely. I'd assume that if we do get a new album, it will be released after the Promised Land DVD.

truehappiness 13th July 2020 08:23 AM

I think there are a few other signs pointing to an album but generally she seems to be ramping up activity after not too much since the tour cancellations.

Toniayu123 13th July 2020 08:24 AM

Even if an album is coming out next year, I’ll be more than happy. Can you imagine? Full length album since 5 years, a blessing.
Anyway, yay for this live.

True.

By the way, I was wondering whether or not this is some sort of live premiere thing or an actual live stream. Not sure if I understood things correctly.

I hope whatever you wonder comes true in reality! It has been a long time since I (and I bet there are many) felt excited for Ayu-stuff. At this point, anything she announces sounds great, and since Ohia no Ki surprise; I feel we are able to dream... so dream big and keep the fingers crossed for a new album release!!!!

Anyway it is a bummer Abema doesn't support overseas fans. But I am sure there will be one nice fan who will rip the performance. I am thrilled to see her perform again!
And.. I already said it in the Social media thread, but she looks absolutely stunning! Rock that Ariana flair, Ayu!

Chris85 13th July 2020 12:23 PM

I hope it gets ripped too, Abema's streams are decrypted, so it's not an easy task, but someone managed to do that after CDL aired.

Really? I'm ready to pay to watch this but only if I'll be able to download video. I thought vpn will be biggest problem. Well... to record video from screen is the last hope

truehappiness 13th July 2020 01:36 PM

I think normally people ripped M the drama from Abema anyway since most raws I saw were web rips, plus you can watch as much as you want until August 1st after it actually does air, so it isn't a one off viewing at least.

It seems rather likely it will get ripped eventually due to the fact that you can rewatch for the entire week, just a matter of when. Either immediately after it airs or the day after-ish? JPS usually manages to find a way and gets rips as long as they are aware of concerts happening.

Also I think our first rip of CDL19-20 was from TV Asahi rather than Abema, it was on that TV channel along with dTV but not abema. I think the TROUBLE CDL was on Abema however.

When Abema's stream of CDL was announced I was preparing to rip the show and realized that their streams are decrypted and I didn't have the means to get the key to donwloaded files. The information about ripping Abema was very scarce on Japanese Internet. I felt extremely happy that someone knew how to do it when the downloaded file got released. As far as I understand getting the original not encrypted file from Abema is as difficult as with Netflix, Amazon and so on. Regular users are very unlikely to know how to do that. Anyway, as truehappiness said we should get the file.

visionfactory 13th July 2020 03:40 PM

I've tried to use Abema TV but I can't even if I use FakeGPS it keeps telling me "Not available in your country error" :( anybody know how to bypass it?

kaled kalil 13th July 2020 04:48 PM

To bypass you have to use a VPN, and if you're using a cellphone you have to use a VPN which can change the GPS location (or another app to do so). I used this past friday to watch a program there on my cellphone. Recording the screen is a doable, to be honest.

Aderianu 13th July 2020 04:51 PM

Ayu just confirmed at her instastory that show expected to start at 19:00 and end at 20:30

Oh! Also that some songs from trouble tour stop at Misato will be represented here

AJFmzk 13th July 2020 07:33 PM

I used a VPN to watch CDL 2018-19 on Abema. The VPN only worked for Abema on the computer, not on phone and not on tablet.

summerain 13th July 2020 11:28 PM

The audio of Abema's TROUBLE CDL broadcast was hideous. I hope they fix it this time.

I will try that! Hope it works

One good thing about being held on quarantine is that I can watch this live ^_^

Chris85 14th July 2020 07:09 AM

I don't know if this method still works, but back then to watch CDL I just used free Japanese proxy.

they may have found a way to block it. Just because it worked 2 years ago doesn’t mean it’ll work now. Plus they already figured out how to stop VPN on mobile/tablet even back then. Hopefully the computer vpn method will still work though. This method still works for Netflix, so hopefully it’ll still work here.

Aderianu 15th July 2020 10:45 AM

I think ayu's photos from recording studio rised interest in this show, so more people would like to watch it

truehappiness 15th July 2020 11:02 AM

I hope so. It's a shame it isn't officially available for overseas as well since the option is there for Abema. Less than 10 days till the show!

visionfactory 17th July 2020 06:29 AM

Which proxy are you using? I usually do this with "Hola" plugin for Firefox but it's not working in Ameba :(

truehappiness 23rd July 2020 01:49 AM

Ameba seems to regularly block proxies and VPNs so you have to be very conscious about which you use.

Just a few more days to go! Will likely be live chatting on Discord as it happens while looking at Twitter or other places for updates here and there!

DavidChaiLatte 23rd July 2020 02:33 AM

With covid cases on the rise again in Tokyo, is she still planning on holding it this weekend? Would everyone just wear a mask on the stage, or would the dancers stay socially distant from each other/Ayu (unlikely since the stage could barely fit all the dancers as it stands already)? I get that she’s desperate to perform again, but I definitely hope that she’s also taking security measures seriously.

truehappiness 23rd July 2020 03:16 AM

I think it should be okay. They likely all have gotten tested a while ago and no audience is probably helping too. Japan has been doing rather okay with media production compared to the USA with a lot of measures being taken during filming and so on. However, August onward seems to be starting up lives with audiences again (maybe?) with a lot of rules like masks and distancing required.

IG stories seem to have indicated that the dancers will be about as close as they usually are to Ayu.

hopefully they all get tested this week as well since they could very well catch it esp now... even if they’ve already caught it before.

truehappiness 23rd July 2020 05:22 AM

I've seen a few cases pop up from stage show productions but Ayu's staff/dancers has been meeting up for a bit now, maybe for the last month or so, they're all in the same room for the concert commentaries for instance. I don't think there is too much to worry about, it'll probably be about the same amount of people interacting as the variety or music shows that have been going on for a while now during the last few months.

visionfactory 23rd July 2020 07:48 AM

I can see your point but a lot of artists have already performed since the lift. E-girls is a 11-member girlgroup from Avex they performed a concert (In the same platform as Ayu) 2 weeks ago and they were doing a live show just today together with other Avex groups, with no social distance

Aderianu 23rd July 2020 01:43 PM

Brigitte Nielsen is the best! Especially when she was on The Surreal Life lol

Once again, Ayu’s favoring her native Japanese fans :irked I’m sure her idea is that she wants to recoup some of the losses from her cancelled tour by doing this pay-per-view special. But she’s alienating a big core of her fans that are international. Especially if they’re paying fan club members...that’s not right. There are other pay channels she could’ve used.

I really don’t think she is alienating anyone. Too bad for international fans but it seems that her team got some kind of deal with Abema(as Abema was participating in production of dorama about Ayu and broadcasting a lot of her older live shows) so maybe as part of this deal Ayu needed to give them some exclusive to draw more people to their platform and it just so happens that Abema for copyright issues or whatever actively blocks views from abroad. I’m sure the concert will be available later to international fans too in some kind of release or maybe even on other services.

I think that's a good point. It's unfortunate about the Abema situation but hopefully there will be a way for us foreign fans to watch sometime in the future.

(Maybe Zaiko? Definitely not Streaming+ since e+ is implied geoblock due to Japanese phone requirement.)

truehappiness 24th July 2020 07:36 AM

Abema actually is able to do international viewings, but they just have to turn it on or off.

DavidChaiLatte 24th July 2020 08:12 AM

is anyone here residing in Japan? Maybe he/she can help record it for all of us lol

truehappiness 24th July 2020 08:19 AM

I think a lot of overseas fans have access due to VPN but not sure if they'll be ripping it. Since you can watch it afterward and it's not a one time stream, I think someone will try to. If not as it happens, it will probably be a bit later in the week.

Chris85 24th July 2020 11:51 PM

I'm supposing we are going to see an improved version of Saigo no TROUBLE setlist (maybe focused on summer songs). Perhaps an aeternal live is expected? She could sing Dreamed a Dream, but I guess they'll hold it up a little bit (but I remember she sang BLUE BIRD at (miss)understood tour a few days before the official release). I'm kinda curious.

I would hope so, but she seems to be doing that sort of thing with her international fans in general. Even with the tour commentaries recently. I know it’s probably a hassle to provide subtitles with her team doing extra work, but most of international fans don’t speak Japanese. Again, why open your fan club internationally whose paying money if you’re going to mainly cater to your Japanese fans (when it seems she has more international fans at this point)? It’s not right. It might not make that much of a difference, but I might mention that in the Letters to Ayu section of TA. It’s frustrating as an international fan

She obviously has more Japanese fans than overseas fans... Or do you think the only 5 remaining domestic fans replied themselves to fill arenas and halls during all these past years? haha

Only the diehard fans buy her physical CDs, but she does a lot (A LOT, indeed) of touring for a reason.

Only the diehard fans buy her physical CDs, but she does a lot (A LOT, indeed) of touring for a reason.

You are disregarding her fanbase from China, Taiwan and HK which is still pretty large.

truehappiness 25th July 2020 11:46 AM

Depends on the communities you're in, I guess regarding what you see... but the overseas fanbase is just nowhere near as large as the Japanese one. Chinese one eclipses the Western one too for sure.

Of course she's popular in those countries and the fanbase is large, but I think we can't compare with the Japanese one. And I'm not gonna start with the western fanbase...

I mean, I'm not disregarding the complaint about the lack of attention to Global TA, but I doubt there's a lot of demand to the point she NEEDS to do a lot of things to western fanbase... That's sad, but genjitsu wa tada zankoku de...

Well her fan club was not open to international fans for a very long time officially and when it did it was personal wish of Ayu and international fans get huge bias to get better seats at the shows. (And usually next to some other foreigners)
Her main core is fans in Japan and TeamAyu website is horrible because the team behind it is horrible. In general I do believe that for Ayu to really come back she would need to change most of her team. Dvd editing, managers, creative advisors, and yes - get new people to redo the website too. At least her instagram promos and teasers seems to be well made and it gives hope.

I have to disagree about her team of DVD editors. I think she has some of the greatest J-Pop registers.

If Ayu's fanbase was THAT big, she would be touring China. People has been going to her tours in Japan every year for the past 20 years, and this by irself shows how much larger her native fambade is.

I just have personal grudge against them for not putting pure vocals from her microphone in a separate channel on 5.1ch audio. For some big artists that are not linked to Avex at least you can extract vocals from 5.1audio tracks without almost any background noise

She didn’t tour outside Japan until 2007, and her peak (in Japan and overseas) was way earlier. So maybe she simply doesn’t feel like it. But of course, her fanbase I in Japan.

I think there were apparently rumors for a 2003 Asia tour but they fell through due to some problems.

njanjayrp 25th July 2020 12:11 PM

Guys don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining. This would be super easy to arrange in so many ways if they wanted to. So instead of giving them cash I am gonna watch a recording for free. It’s all the same to me...

I guess it was due to SARS epidemic. Maybe they were afraid to do a tour over there after it.
