Looks like Kuu got a new tie-in!
Here in this Oricon article about the renewal of the TBS morning news show Good Luck! (グッとラック!) it's announced that Kuu is providing the new theme song for the show! https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/217145...cial&ref_cd=tw Saw it through Japanese fans mentioning it on Twitter. The renewal of the show is starting to air September 28. Guess it's another new song, cause honestly none of the three songs so far fit a news show. The tickets for the late Osaka show of the tour are almost sold out. As the other dates are only in October, there are still only preorder-tickets available - Nagoya preorder-tickets are almost sold out, only for Fukuoka are more available. Considering that probably a lot of fans are not going because of Corona, it's nice to see it selling quite well. |
Kuu will be featured on tonight's NTV's Konya Kurabete Mimashita for the 1st time

She has been doing a lot of variety shows lately, that's good.
More info about the mu-mo live stream for MY NAME IS... Arena Tour First Performance: - The concert will be available to stream after the live broadcast, from September 14th to 20th. - There is also gonna be an "after talk" right after the second performance of the day, and you have to pay 1,500 yen for this one. Unlike reLIVE, there is no option for getting both tickets together for a better deal. After Talk live distribution start time (planned): 2020/9/12 (Sat) 21:30- (Distribution gate open 21:20) Viewing ticket sales period: Until 2020/9/12 (Sat) 21:30 Delivery ticket price: 1,500 yen (tax included) *We do not plan to deliver missed after talks. https://live-on.mu-mo.net/koda/ |
Yeah, they've added the rewatch stream for the mu-mo live broadcast cause Japanese fans asked for it.
And how amazing that Kuu still has energy left to do an after-talk after two live concerts and that even right after the 2nd one ended. xD |

sorry i have another question, is it possible to log in to ku's mumo site? anyone is having any trouble?. an error appears overtime i try to log in to my ID+ account even in the mu-mo shop site as well.
An error has occurred. Please try again later. edit: Nevermind it was google chrome :/ |

@minkAYuko I never had an issue with Google Chrome for the ID+, but sometimes with other websites when I log into one account it can give me some random errors. Maybe try going to the incognito mode.
I doubt that this tour is going to be 100% sold out, not because she can't fill arenas, but people are scared to go to concerts still. If I was there, I don't think I would go anyway. -- Kumi twitted some of her thoughts about the live tomorrow - https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1srd5ga It's quite a sweet message. She wishes everyone a good time from the venue and for those watching at home. Not gonna lie, I got scared that they would cancel it at the last minute. |

Great track list! I am honestly surprised she included any tracks older than JAPONESQUE, but WIND is the big surprise here. Love to see that that song still means so much to her after 14 years.
|
They skipped Black Cherry Tour on the DVD...
Not fan of the track list. I expected more mix from her 20 years and sadly most of the recent songs she picked are not my liking. Well let’s see how the tour will be |
Really surprised about the tracklist.
So recent! And overall a lot of fan (live) favourites. Stoked now if the tour setlist is going to be the same or similar. Personally I'm really happy about songs like Dreaming Now!, Suki de and Dance In The Rain. And that combo Lucky Star and WIND must be amazing! Btw. Maiko choreographed XXKK. And she wrote a sweet message for/about Kuu on Insta: https://www.instagram.com/p/CE-bE-xg...d=l3cmnwz9uvpr |
Video commentary of Kuu uploaded via TV Asahi's Twitter
https://twitter.com/tvasahi_cs/statu...48568140963841 So pretty |
The only tracks that I dislike are SWEETEST TABOO and PARTY...
Nice to see Lollipop and GOT ME GOING'... About the DVD the live selection is pretty good but there are many awesome performances for Dejavu tour... Melting is so meh for me... |
Just saw a Japanese fan complaining that even tho he/she won the special expensive FC ticket (with the jacket) through the FC lottery, they only got seats in the stands pretty far away (tickets are digital this time and people got their seat numbers just now, a day before the concert).
There are only half of the seats available per concert, which means arena seats are also just half, but it probably is another indicator that tickets sold well enough even in this situation (2 x 8,000 for Osaka Jo Hall on Saturday, tho they sadly cancelled the 2nd planned date on Sunday). And another fan noticed that the release date of the album fits for the 20th anniversary - 9+11=20. Didn't occur to me before, haha. |
Well I'm okay with BC Tour being skipped cause that tour has already gotten a lot of attention over the years :P Overall the live selection is GREAT to me, Love goes like being there is so amazing, it's a simple yet powerful performance. Also really happy for magic! Just wish she had picked one more performance from TRICK Tour and dropped one of the four she picked from WOML Tour.
About the CD tracklist, it does feel like a concert setlist to me, just wish there'll be more older songs there, even if she puts them in a medley. She usually does that on encores, but since there'll be none this time, I hope she puts one or two medleys in between these songs. |
I tried not to check the tracklist with much attention to not spoil the setlist of the concert (if it even is the same one), but as far as I saw it's not what I would describe as songs that "defines" her at all, maybe the lyrics as for WOML, Sometimes Dreams Come True and so on. It is indeed interesting to see so much from newest releases, but at the same time it's weird to erase her most remembered tracks.
For the DVD part, it's a weird selection of highlights of the concerts and other okay moments. I love Melting, but I wouldn't say that I want to know more about the performance itself. I really hate CHANCES ALL, can this song go away already? I know people like it, but argh. |
People AND kuu lol She loves the fact that it's a t.y. song to death, probably she'll keep on singing this one forever or at least until she works with him again lol
Twitter fandom is having another meltdown it's funny lol People were expecting a flamboyant all time best and are frustrated... Blame it on them tho, it was not even announced as a ''best'' album lol |
It's a surprising tracklist, for sure. I'm glad she added SWEETEST TABOO and GOT ME GOING' as these are two of my favorite tracks of her from recent years. :yes
I wish this was a regular release, though. I totally understand why they would make it exclusive to the FC, but if it was a bit easier to purchase I might have done it. |
It really is a weird release isn't it. If it is to accompany the tour, a playlist would have done it (like Ayu did). As for a fan release, I think all of them got these songs (maybe she wants to introduce her newer stuff to older fans tho). I think it would have worked better to give her more attention from the public tho.
|
i really hope someone ripped the livestream
i'm gonna be on duty in the time |
Quote:
so is this fanclub-only album a compilation of the songs she and the fans like? were the songs selected via a vote or something? (I'm just a casual fan; I don't know much of what's happening inside her fandom) I tried manually listing the songs of the track list and I gotta say, the album flows really well! |
For the past months her FC had polls about her songs, as for: songs that you would recommend to someone who doesn't listen to her music, favorite songs to hear live, etc. The tracklist could have been done with some of the choices the fans made, but I honestly don't remember people listing GOT ME GOIN' and some other songs there, so it is a mystery.
We are speculating that it is the setlist of the new tour, because of the name and the flow of the tracklist. |
I expect a medley somewhere and remixes hopefully.

From dancer_yoshika's Insta https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/6...923/nZlrrS.png https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/6...922/dJb0YS.png People are getting the streamers when they enter the venue. Which probably means they're not going to shoot any within the concert. |
someone had a free link?
|
Girl is late 5 mins... C'mon girl, it's past my bedtime already. Lol
Very sweet of the fans holding multiple lightsticks like they asked. |
Prologue: TAKE BACK acapella
01. XXKK 02. POP DIVA 03. UNIVERSE 04. Ultraviolet 05. TABOO 06. SWEETEST TABOO 07. LOADED Guess it's safe to assume the setlist is the tracklist of the album plus additional songs. Like with re(LIVE) the camera of the stream keeps staying very close to the stage. A bit annoying. The TV Asahi live stream will probanly be the better one. And just as I said that we get wide shots and shots of the audience. xD |
The interlude is awesome!!!!
The stage is very underwhelming, not gonna lie. I hate when it's just a big screen. |
01. XXKK
02. POP DIVA 03. UNIVERSE 04. Ultraviolet 05. TABOO 06. SWEETEST TABOO 07. LOADED Interlude movie 08. puff 09. Crazy 4 U~BUT~Lollipop 10. GOT ME GOING' 11. Bassline 12. WHO 13. Dance In The Rain 14. Moon Crying Her voice is amazing! :heart As I thought with the tracklist, this is more about who she is now. Fits to the concepts she did in recent years. She had to really fight in the 2nd verse of Moon Crying not to start heavily crying. Ah, Kuu. |
For the ballads there are a few missed notes, but she doesn't have her left earpiece.
Though the sky sounds lovely. |
01. XXKK
02. POP DIVA 03. UNIVERSE 04. Ultraviolet 05. TABOO 06. SWEETEST TABOO 07. LOADED Interlude movie 08. puff 09. Crazy 4 U~BUT~Lollipop 10. GOT ME GOING' 11. Bassline 12. WHO 13. Dance In The Rain 14. Moon Crying 15. hands 16. BRIDGET SONG 17. Through the sky Dance part 18. PARTY 19. IS THIS TRAP? 20. WON'T BE LONG 21. real Emotion 22. Eh Yo 23. Dreaming Now! 24. LIT There's a big illuminated KXXK sign hanging from the ceiling before the upper part of the screen now since PARTY. Eh Yo really fits with its lyrics, respect the past, but don't cling to it. For Dreaming Now! there are scenes of Kuu dancing and singing in the single jacket outfits on the screen. Never seen those before! |
Awesome energy again from our Kuueen <3
This show is like a long BEST of Medley. For the current circumstances it is a great show. The Stylings are perfect. :-) Did you guys notice the alternate PV for Dreaming Now! on the screen with the second single cover outfit? |
Cute video for Lucky Star with the fans dancing. :)
|
Yeah, I also think there are no real props aside from the throne and such a simple stage because of the Covid situation.
Show is great! Prologue: TAKE BACK acapella 01. XXKK 02. POP DIVA 03. UNIVERSE 04. Ultraviolet 05. TABOO 06. SWEETEST TABOO 07. LOADED Interlude movie 08. puff 09. Crazy 4 U~BUT~Lollipop 10. Eh Yo 23. Dreaming Now! 24. LIT 25. Lucky Star 26. girls ~ Butterfly 27. WIND MC 28. walk |
I guess from girls on it is the encore? I don't think she's going backstage.
|
Awesome show! The venue was packed! Really says a lot about Kuu's fans that they still went to support her despite the pandemic.
|
She didn't perform CHANCES ALL. ♥
I have mixed thoughts about the concert, to be honest. I even feel a little sad for not enjoying that much because we saw how emotional she was at the end, thanking the support of everyone. It was pretty sweet that she had the credits rolling during walk, it's a very nice way of thanking everyone behind the scenes that made the show and everything. It's not a bad concert, and I understand the limitations because of the pandemic, but it really lacks creativity with very few highlights here and there, and looks like it was put together at the last minute concept wise. I'll wait for the Asahi footage to judge a little better the concert. |
Producing a tour within a pandemic is one hard thing to do.
I am surprised they didn't even try to flesh out the album concept for the tour like I expected. But that probably simply wasn't possible. She never did a tour without any big stunts like her tissue dancing before, it's the first time. For sure the tour would look much different without Covid. There also wasn't a message "to be continued" or "see you next live" at the end. Kuu was so emotional because of the situation and its uncertainty. She said it herself in her message: She has to do this tour in a totally different environment than usual and within the set rules. For comparison some other artists haven't even decided yet if they gonna do their concerts at the end of the year like planned e.g. AAA. And they're even in the same company. |
I think Kuu could have done an online concert solely just like what other artistes has been doing the last few months
And for fans to still turn up to support her physically , I'm sure she feels really grateful & touched Also in this aspect , less is more |
I enjoyed very much the concert, I see that there's probably another version with better angles? the TV one, I really liked this being so close to ku.
And yeah it seems like a lack luster concert, maybe. Not many props just the big screen but I don't mind either. Maybe as the concert progresses they will add or change things? covid, did messed up things but let's not get upset about this it's not her fault! who knows what would have been different if we weren't were we are now. The intro was so good!! she looked so good!! and that turn when Universe starts... omg. I had a lot of fun. She cried a lot in the end T_T Quote:

I prefer the setlist over the album tracklist I think.
|
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...922/ZLwTAr.png
Also saw some stories, the TV version is definitely better! Hope someone can share this. Meanwhile there's already a mu-mo rip up made by a member over at wkkw. |
Someone on Twitter posted a girl posted that she couldn’t watch the show cause it was raining and the tv signal was messed up. And it was her bday. Poor girl !
|
That's a really unexpected and amazing setlist! And no Ai no Uta!! Have we defeated the evil or will she change the ballads between A or B since she's holding two concerts day? Curious to see if she's going to tweak the tour as she goes along too since she has a lot of time between tour dates. Can't wait to watch it!!
|
^ Probably, she usually has more than one option for the ballads in her setlist. From the My name is... album it' probably Suki de, CHANCES ALL and instead of hands and Through the sky. I honestly prefer the setlist for the first show than the album.
The Asahi Ch1 broadcast is up on JPS. :) Edit For the second performance the ballad section was: 15 .hands 16. CHANCES ALL 17. WALK OF MY LIFE Instead of: 15. hands 16. BRIDGET SONG 17. Through the sky I watched the Asahi footage and my opinions are the same. Hope it gets better at the final date. |

She is gorgeous in the pictures !
Didn’t have the occasion to Watch the show yet! Concert set list is better than the CD playlist. On the other hand, quite surprised her staff skipped Ai no Uta release by not updating the single version of the PV on her YouTube channel! |

Kuu made a lot of headlines.
She was the first big artist and the first arena tour to start after it's now allowed again since August and everyone is reporting how and why. They also had to alter the corona conditions - there were actually only 4000 fans per concert as they had to go down from the intially planned 8000 for all counter measures. Fans also had to wear masks throughout the whole concert, not only while entering and walking through the venue and so on. There will also be 4000 per concert for Fukuoka and Nagoya. But those arenas are smaller than Osaka Jo Hall, which leads me to believe that's the maximum number the prefectures/cities allow right now. The number of performances for the two Tokyo dates and the limit for attendees is not decided yet. But in the Harajuku installation from yesterday both dates were promoted, so I assume they keep concerts on both days. Ah, and they're reporting that the concert doesn't have an encore, so that's official now. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...922/3OTzri.png |
|
Kuu actually is the number 1 online keyword at the moment.
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...924/prVROA.png She already talked about why she's decided to do the tour in her official message and that she's aware that there will be people not understanding this decision. News covering all of that inlcuding her 20th anniv and the tour content. You know, rather be hated... Aimyon was recently asked on TV which 5 songs influenced her the most when she was younger and Cutie Honey and the Love & Honey single was among that! :D https://www.instagram.com/p/CFFJqKPM...=1ahve50thdwbr And I'm watching the TV Ashai stream now. Kuu's basically and finally breaking down crying in Moon Crying in this second performance and it also affected her vocals for hands, lol. Only in CHANCES ALL she got back to norm again. Overall her vocals are not as good as in the 1st concert, she seemed more focused there altogether. Also some minor microphone breaks at the start... I prefer the 1st performance of the day, even tho the TV stream is better made. Tomorrow we can rewatch the mu-mo stream in great quality! :) |
Some seriously amazing shots from the MY NAME IS... booklet
https://twitter.com/diegox_9hd/statu...51385579794437 https://twitter.com/diegox_9hd/statu...51882940342272 I like the shot of Kuu in the ponytail <3 |
^ so gorgeous!
|
^I may be the only one and I'm sorry (and no offense) but I find most of them rather bland looking and I think i don't like her expression in them either.
Actually I only really like the cover and the alternate version of that one. Overall, i get what she wants to do 8and that it is a self-reference thing and blaa blaa) but to me personally it is not very well executed. But good that people seem to love it. |
All these exciting (yet maybe controversial) news!!! I hope this helps her out. If they are going to talk and continue to hate her, well we know now that she doesn't care so she's going to do things anyway!!!
yo go girl! Edit: This site also posted the pictures they are 1300 x 1950 |
She looks so good with this mirror dress, wish they had use more of the lasers from the XXKK performance, it was just for one song and done.
Some TV reports are out too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVaCkfR3ehk https://twitter.com/Na2minion93/stat...56932643463168 Interesting that they are using the footage of the first concert. They provide everyone a face-shied but, from the footage, I don't see anyone using. From the stream I even saw one lady without her mask during one part, probably for just one moment, but still. The concert will be available for stream in 3 hours, but don't expect a better quality image because the live stream was 1080p, but the stream will be 720p like before. The problem is that she's most of the time in front of the screen, so it will be a pixel galore no matter what. Not only that, but moiré happens as well, that's one of the reasons I don't like screen stages, it's not "footage record" friendly. LIVE TOUR 2020 MY NAME IS... playlist is available on streaming services. https://avex.lnk.to/kkmyname |

So, I watched the TV broadcast, and these are my thoughts on the tour:
Spoiler:
So far I've seen some Japanese fans on twitter talking about the concert and they're praising her, Im glad people are not mad at her for touring during the pandemic. On another subject, a friend and I came up with the theory there'll be a 2CD+2DVD BEST later on this year called "XXKK" to pair up with "MY NAME IS..." and nothing will take that away from my mind. |
Quote:
OMGT!! |
Didn't she have a meeting early this year where she shared a photo of a "single collection" planner or something similar? I wonder if she'll announce that during the last date of this tour...
|
I wonder if the single collection was just MY NAME IS....
|
Well, MY NAME IS features a lot of not-singles actually, so I think not. And maybe it was another project that was cancelled cause of the pandemic. It's hard to tell, so many plans must have changed.
About the 2nd DVD it's pure speculation lol but would love to see something like ayu's A COMPLETE DVD with rare stuff |
If the interlude serves as a indication, she does have old footage of herself during her club performing days. I didn't even know about any of the three performances.
-- EDIT She's back in the studio, maybe finishing the song for that TV show. |
Alive
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUaClldw7kA Physical thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHFR3UzUPJE I still think all these years Alive is really under-rated :s And it's 1 of the rare Kuu singles I personally bought as I normally will usually get her studio & best albums |
^ it is definitely one of her own songs she might not even like.
She barely sang it live, finally considered the B Side as the A Side of the single, squiz the PV in her studio album and even not include it in her ballads collection. I also think No Regret is the song she didn’t like in her discography. Only difference from Alive is that the song was successful so she performed it more often. |
damn, when will MY NAME IS leak? :)
|
Quote:
I probably can see just only the 3 new songs in the fanclub exclusive album upload cos the rest of the songs in the tracklist are already included in her past releases :s |
Quote:
|
She performed No Regret around 7 times on TV and two times in her concerts, it's not like she hates the song.
Kumi don't usually perform live songs that she didn't write, and since No Regret was written by Toru Watanabe that's probably the case. The same thing applies to JUICY. Alive and Ashita e are her most forgettable ballads ever imo. |
I love Ashita e, Alive caters to a special audience
|
Quote:
Although she performed it in TV shows, she only performed the song in her live tour as parts of medley. Popular songs within her audience are not necessary songs she likes, especially at her peak when she had less control over her career. |
No Regret is not a bad song tho and for this particular one I think it was right of the label to push something that brings money within a very costly campaign.
|
Quote:
Crazy 4 U, DDD or ECSTASY are some examples of songs not written by Kumi but quite often performed in tour. JUICY is probably another example of song she might not have chosen to release at that time. Quote:
AVEX often failed but they managed the 12 singles project so well! After all these years, I’m still amazed by how great this project was. |
Yeah, it's hard to know why for sure. I personally love No Regret and just like Marurosu, it was my first Kumi song thanks to Maeda Ken performing with HINOI TEAM. lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2ME-lTit4g The Bold & Delicious performance is awesome as well. haha The whole 12 singles was a very successful project. Not only the singles sold well enough with two of them being #1, the album compiling the singles almost selling 2 million copies. |
^ Maeda Ken is super funny! I remember listening to his/her stuff back in the day! haha
|
I was sad when he passed away in 2016. :(
|
^ oh i didn’t know he died... :(
Quote:
From her first best of, only few songs are hits from general audience. She could went down quickly like BoA after the best of success. It’s interesting to see that even today most of the singles are parts of her most popular success. Lot of videos have more than 200k views on her Chanel (you, Someday, WIND, DDD, Shake It Up, Birthday Eve, No Regret, Candy). Even Lies, Ima Sugu Hoshii and feel have moderate success. KAMEN was definitely the biggest risk of the serie! Another interesting fact, they created a XXKK playlist in her YouTube Chanel. Normally only albums are represented. The theory discussed previously might be true. |
Quote:
I am just waiting for a full album to be uploaded somewhere, since I wasn't following Koda for a last few years, so I want to listen to all those songs in one album. ;) |
Quote:
|
Quote:
So sad that he died... |
^ That happened to me with Tamaki Nami. Funny enough, I was supposed to "know" Kumi before that, because right around the time the Gilgamesh anime was airing, I was quite interested in the story because one of those anime magazines, but I could never find a subtitled version of it. It would definitely be love in the first listen to Crazy 4 U for sure. lol
@Darkifrit I believe they create a new playlist every time she has a new single, ever since they started uploading songs there. I might be wrong, but I do remember a playlist for puff. I don't mind a new compilation XXKK. Maybe next year she can do a real tour really celebrating her 20th anniversary, because both MY NAME IS... album and tour isn't it. If it happens, I do with it was in her compilations format, like BEST ~fourth dimension~ or whatever. |
