Sucks for Miccie especially but I don't have sympathy if he's a scammer - ayu pushed him a lot to make a name for himself, giving him lyrics and an opener at her concerts as well. I guess she reconciled somewhat with Timmy as well? iirc he was into Covid denial and weird stuff after he left the troupe.

It seems like Ayu sold her face to one of those tacky A.I. apps. That’s disappointing. People really don’t know that while they don’t keep your own photos in the database, they are allowed to use the end results in whatever way shape or form they want. Those avatars are really creepy looking too….She would have been better off to just share someone’s fanart instead.

I guess these initial numbers are boosted by pre-release sales, so we'll see a massive drop by tomorrow. I think 12/15k is the most accurate first week sales goal.

The sales are from the 24th, so that should mostly be pre-orders. I'm curious to see how many bought it in stores on the actual release day. We'll find out tomorrow!

I am predicting 10K first week and Maybe close to 20K in the end... i would have love her to sell 30K to finally cross the 50.1 millions sales :p

I wonder if it is possible to see somewhere how much she sold in the first week?

So, yesterday Ayu posted on Instagram a cute picture of a painting her eldest son made for her. She wrote something about Mother's Day, which I attempted to translate by Google, but still I have no clue what she was saying. Does anyone have time to translate the description for me? I really would like to understand her message.

Since I could work also as "ayu" while I've been helped a lot by my family and people around me, I think I'm having a lot of shortcoming as a "mother". On TA, Ayu’s announced that after CDL and the third leg of her tour, she’s not planning anything, essentially entering into a suspension of activities. (Which is often the beginning of retirement, though she doesn’t state that)

However, she’s also said that she has no idea if she’ll be able to stay away forever. But also, she might. So while it’s not officially permanent, it could end up being so.

(She says specifically she might be back after half a year, or it might be several years.)

I think this is my favorite picture of her in the last decade, and that's saying something. It's so dramatic, so different than other glamour shots. She's done really daring stuff like this before, but not often, and not recently. I love it.

this is interesting to read, and i believe that putting out this national tour has triggered a lot of memories about her staging as a singer for 25 years, with a vast discography, and fans supporting her work throughout Japan and overseas.

The latest post of ayu kinda gives me the vibe that she already decided that it will only be a "short" break and she will return. I believe, if she really wanted to retire now with this announcement, she would have told TA and wouldn't have given such a "it may be a short break or maybe I will never come back" message.

I mean, she deserves everything and has worked so hard, the break is necessary for her and her family, but still I don't see her giving up what she has created in 25 years. That's just not her.

Yeah, you can take Ayu out of music, but you cannot take the music out of Ayu. I think most people have something they cannot imagine themselves without because it's a part of them, and that is especially true with artistic humans.

Am I the only one getting vibes of Ayu producing an idol group to compete with kpop? That her hiatus is a hiatus about her singing career but she will still be in charge of creative directions of groups like BoA did for a while

Honestly I don’t think this hiatus is happening anymore. She’s changed, it seems.

She just wrote today on instagram that tomorrow a recording week begins with 3 songs which has been proposed to her and since during CDL there was no mentioning of a hiatus nor any sentimental touch, I highly doubt there'll be a hiatus
