'Inspire' first day sales stats
 

Here's what was posted on the Japan Ayu BBS:

1位 浜崎あゆみ 『INSPIRE』(CD+DVD) 62，700ポイント
3位 浜崎あゆみ 『INSPIRE』(CDのみ ) 30，100ポイント

１位　浜崎あゆみ「Moments(CD+DVD) 」　60，500ポイント
３位　浜崎あゆみ「Moments(CDのみ ) 」　26，700ポイント

For those who can't see it, Inspire sold 92, 800 on its first day (ranked 1st and 3rd for the CD+DVD combo and standalone CD), while Moments sold 87, 200 on its first day.

I don't think it is a flash sales figure considering the extent of promotion being put into INSPIRE and the fact it is a double A-side single (though GAME is somehow disguised as a coupling-with).

INSPIRE's sales is still 'good' relative to other recent sales, but definitely nowhere near ayu's previous multiple A-side singles.

teth mention that the INSPIRE single is ayu's 20th #1 selling singles in a period of 5 years and 3 months (since her first #1) is second only to Seiko Matsuda (who got 20 #1 singles in 4 years and 9 months).

i wonder how they calculate numbers, seems to say;

Yeah!! J-pop gets its stats from 1300 stores and the numbers sold from those stores. Oricon, on the other hand, records from number shipped to stores. Thus, Oricon stats are always higher by a little bit.

wonder if she can break 300k 1st wekk..O_o

Err...usually J-pop Yeah! has the higher sales number than Oricon actually...but Oricon can't be using the number shipped as their charts states...remember Utada's "Single Collection" shipped 2 million units in the first day/week? Oricon still had the sales as 1.3 million at the end of the week.

I guess different sources use different numbers~ however no source will be 100% accurate on number sold..

I just hoped when i buy singles/albums from YesAsia they are included in number, since I buy JPN version, and always pre-order ayu-chan stuffs^^*
