We all no..well.most of us know...Ayu's voice is kinda..eeeh..O_o. But the weird thing is, whenever i send someone a song of Ayu, they've always said "shes got a good voice!". Ive sent them old stuff and recent stuff too..and its just weird..:-P.

I absolutely love Ayumi's voice...from the past to the present. There's something about it that just makes it so unique, and even now it's still refreshing (even though I've been a fan for years). Listening to her songs is like a rush because I can feel the emotions she puts into it, whereas some artists seem like they're singing just for the sake of singing. But that's just me. To each their own.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with ayumi's voice. blehhh :P since the beginning, ayumi's voice was the first thing that converted me into the fan i am today :D

Ayu doesn't have the best voice... I think Tim just means that since her voice isn't as powerful as other singers like Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey, its kind of odd...

I like Ayu's voice. Some people are just overly sensitive about it. Nobody said she was supposed to have a belting diva voice, anyway. If it was like that, a lot of people probably wouldn't like her. I think her voice is natural, and I like it just the way it is. If it was that eardrum shattering, window-breaking kind of voice, I'd have to jump out of a window or run in the middle of the street. It'd just be.. un-Ayu. :tired

Her voice is not bad for an idol-singer although it has deteriorated over the years.

When it comes to real singing, I like Hirahara Ayaka's, Onitsuka Chihiro's, Hajime Chitose's, Hitoto Yo's, Moriyama Naotao's, Hayashi Asuca's, and MISIA's voices far better than hers; they are truly the "artists".

I love Ayu's voice! It sounds so much better then our American Pop singers like Jessica Simpson and Britney and Christina. As do the male J-pop/Rock singers! They don't sing like girls when they get to a high pitched part of the song!!

I think Ayumi has a great singing voice! I've never understood why people dog her so much about her voice. I also definitely don't think anyone can say that Ayumi is not an artist...because not only does she have a great voice, but she has a whole lot of other things goign for her too...it sets her apart from the crowd I believe.

If I didn't think Ayu's voice was any good or if it was just 'okay' I wouldn't listen to her. I lsiten to her because her voice is different, and very pleasing.

I agree with Brightlight...Ayu has a great voice but it isn't exactly 'soothing' and it gets really piercing sometimes. She also has to use so much vibrato and harmony to cover up her weakness of not having a full voice like in Voyage. But still, I think Ayu's reached her potential and that's a good thing. :)

I've seen quite a few that weren't so great, but keep in mind that at times she is basically run ragged by her schedule. Anyhow, I'd rather her lives be a little off as long as she is actually singing and not just lip syncing. :D

well..of course its unique...thats wut makes her ayu,but its..not good. In ASFXX...i always thought she was WAY to squeaky..duty-her voice was at ehr prime, and rainbow-her voice was kinda raspy and strained, and not M.A. her voice is bak..and for INSPIRE-her voice was powerful...but..:-/

+K~ is saying her live performances have been pretty bad for quite some time so that's why a lot of people complain about her voice.

i thought her lives were always ok....but songs like we wish...yuk..the song is good..but her voice sounjds so.......weird.

I have never found anything wrong with her lives, save for one back in 1999 where she was off-sync with the background music. :shrug

she got off tempo in Boys and Girls at A museum...for a lil bit only tho..i think she took too big of a breath..:P

I also must say, sometimes it's hard to sing on tempo or to catch a breath without losing a few seconds of time. Being in choir for two years taught me that..

Her singing has improved a bunch! I agree with you! When she first started singing her voice was horrible, I can't stand listening to End Roll, I just can't do it, the only good really old songs she did was You and A Song for XX. I think Ayu's voice really started to come out when she reached her 3rd album, Loveppears was O.K. but her voice was still young then. Moments has been her best vocals so far, a friend of mine can't stand her voice, but she loved the vocals Ayu did in Moments. Nowadays, Ayu is a beautiful singer, but I'm never gonna bother buying her first album... no way

A MUSEUM was horrible, vocally... With a few exceptions, every song sounded terrible... Not to mention the horrible backup singers...

Yep, but it's common for most artists to be on key and project their voices on 90% of their lives...

are posting in a Ayumi Hamasaki forum right? We like her voice. Some of
us love her voice. Most of us here don't think her voice is 'kinda..eeeh'.

Maybe the people you have sent Ayu songs to are right and its you who
need to listen better.

I love Ayu's voice! She's a very good singer. But I've noticed that wen she sings live her own songs, sometimes she has problems with it (like the recent GAME+INSPIRE performance on TV) but when she sings other song, or in duet she is just perfect (with MiniMoni, or that song Haru yo - I'm not sure if it's good title) She sounds wonderful!
