Ayu 1st in "The artist who is likely to be caught in a medal"

Ayu was voted 1st in the female category for "The artist who is likely to be caught in a medal" (rough translation; I assume it means "Artist most likely to wear a medal"), according to CDTV. Gackt was 1st in the male category.

fantaisie.sign 15th August 2004 02:51 AM

. . . wear a medal for what? :confused Lol. Thanks for the news. :laugh

starr5245 15th August 2004 02:53 AM

hey, this news is cool
CONGRATS ayu!!

gakkun 15th August 2004 03:20 AM

oo I think I know what it means!!! They are talking about which artist would most likely win a medal in a sport. If you look at the writing next to the artists' pictures you can see what event they are likely to win a medal in and the reason:

Male:

1. Gackt - Shooting
2. Porno Graffiti guy - Swimming and soccer
3. w-inds - soccer and gymnastics
4. Chemistry guy - shortput and hammer throw
5. EXILE - I can't read these...I'm guessing basketball and 'wildball' (??)

Female:

1. Ayu - New gymnastics (??) and synchcronized swimming
2. Ayaya - New gymnastics and tennis
3. Ai Otsuka - basketball (??) and triple jump
4. aiko - swimming and judo(!!)
5. ZARD - tennis and 200m short distance

I can't read the reasons..too much hiragana. >,< I guess this's got to do with the Olympics now and such...

Larisa-chan 15th August 2004 03:30 AM

weird expression... o.o lol

I thought it may have meant "artist who is likely to be caught in a meddle"...

But Ayu isn't as great at dancing as BoA and Namie are. Ayu should be put in the cycling category (remember the little bicycling skit that Ayu was in on a TV show a few years ago?) while Namie and BoA should be put in the "new gymnastics" and synchronized swimming categories.

m-ayu 15th August 2004 03:53 AM

thanks for the info..:yes
weird poll..lol.. :D

y2687 15th August 2004 03:58 AM

That makes more sense than what I originally thought, since I don't natively understand Japanese.

y2687 15th August 2004 04:03 AM

That's what I figured since the beginning of the post. I thought it was a little obvious for it to have to be related to the Olympics in some way.

Ha, the hiragana are all I can read. The kanji are all so freakin' squished I can't make out most of them. Here's what I can get. Feel free to fill in any kanji you can see.
For "New Gymnastics" (whatever that is):
バレエ___だし、
あの美しいスタイルで
十点_点_実
I think it's something to the effect of "She's got ballet skills, and her beautiful style would score her a perfect ten."
For synchronized swimming:
_も__力が
要まされる__だ_に
あゆなら問題なし
And...er...the last line is "It's no problem for Ayu."

Also, while I'm on a (rather inept) translating roll, it says 獲れそう, not 獲られそう, so it is "Most likely to (be able to) win a medal." Nobody's threatening to lasso Ayu with the bronze. :D

HanabiChick 15th August 2004 10:02 PM

Strange poll... probably would be more interesting than real thing...

Ibitsu Kokoro 15th August 2004 10:29 PM

ummmmmmmmmm a medal? okay...

Brittany 15th August 2004 11:52 PM

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh hahahahahaha.. XD XD Congrats to both Ayu and Gackt.. they deserve it ;)

akatsuki 16th August 2004 12:33 AM

How interresting it is~ I translated this for Ayu

sport : synchro swiming
reasons: it needs a quite good strenght, and Ayu doesn't have problem with this

sport :rhytmics sports gymnastics
reasons : because she is a ballet experienced person, she merit a perfect score of 10/10 on this.

And there is Aiko (because i luv aiko :P)

sport : judo
reasons : to sing some songs like "Eriashi", it requests the same skills than judo
sport : swimming race
reasons : It's amazing to see that she is as good to swin as Ian Soppu (Sope? soap?? ==> anyway, he is an australian swimmer)

dCxAyumi1 16th August 2004 02:40 AM

Ayumi and Gackt snatched 1st place! :D cool!

lovia 16th August 2004 03:50 AM

yay!!!!!!! my 2 most fav idol in the first place ^^ !!! thanx for infor ^^

~K+ 16th August 2004 03:58 AM

They have to use the worst picture of her don't they o_O'

FancySN 16th August 2004 04:18 AM

synchronized swimming? Synchronized swimming is hard. HARD. I really, really don't think Ayu can do it (it requires a LOT of teamwork and practice. like, 4 hours a day. for years.) and I don't know how other people would think that she could. Not that Ayu isn't fit. She is. She's just not fit for synchronized swimming.

Ăngelu§ 16th August 2004 04:27 AM

Regardless if she's fit or not, I'd really really love to see Ayu in the synchronized swimming event. Getting all dolled up with sparkly dust in her hair, and performing rhythmic leg movements.... Aahh, one can only dream.....

akatsuki 16th August 2004 04:34 AM

You should take this seriously i think. C'mon guys, aiko: [sport : judo
reasons : to sing some songs like "Eriashi", it requests the same skills than judo] It's really written this! What point do judo and singing a slow song have in comon?

Kazuko 16th August 2004 08:24 AM

ooo congrats to ayumi!!!

sank you for this news ^^ :D
