Larisa-chan 16th September 2004 03:57 AM

watch her new album be filled with rock songs and have like only 3 ballads ;) don't forget about "About You" which is a rock-ish song >=)

Ibitsu Kokoro 16th September 2004 04:21 AM

Um... i think she just had enough rock songs for the year... she will have more you know...

Hok 16th September 2004 04:23 AM

She needs more songs similar to her I am... album. Like Connected, Naturally, M, or evolution.

gogirlanime 16th September 2004 05:40 AM

I want another kinda morbid song from her, I always thought Connected was dark in a way, the way it sounds that is, another Connected, Never Ever, Whatever, and/or Hanabi-like song would be REALLY nice to have, Carols could put anyone to sleep with boredom, I'll grow to like it though

Tasked 16th September 2004 05:46 AM

wasn't a big suprise she'd come back with this cos she does it every year.. Last year was No way to say....

CrypticXero™ 16th September 2004 05:50 AM

man did you guys just have to ruin my special moment by telling me she will have more rock songs these year =/

YUP YUP YUP YUP :yes :yes :yes :yes

~K+ 16th September 2004 06:00 AM

Watch me die after finding out her album is filled with poseur-rock-songs.

Ones like "I am..."(The song) are good though.

FancySN 16th September 2004 06:07 AM

She needs more special, stand-out songs like Endless Sorrow and Evolution and the good classic stuff.

ohsixthirty 16th September 2004 06:16 AM

I really like her rockish songs though...especially GAME. I just like her darker stuff I guess, but I also miss the Evolution, Never Ever, Endless Sorrow, I am... days too...

Nu-NRG 16th September 2004 06:19 AM

i really want naturally kinda songs :(

chocosaki 16th September 2004 03:20 PM

*tries to persuade Ayumi to go towards the light that is j-rock*

Hehehe, I love her rock stuff. There's not enough of it in my opinion. I'm not even a big fan of j-rock to be honest tho. Ayumi just brings her magic into it and it's wonderful!

*edit

I too would like Naturally-esque songs. I miss stuff like Naturally or Connected... :'(

LastMuskeeter#3 16th September 2004 03:32 PM

j-rock is better than j-pop >_< i think ayu would be one of te greatest j-rockers if she kept trying...but then again no one can stand the might of dir en grey..... so she would be second best...

Aldonia 16th September 2004 06:43 PM

Heh, just because she had "rock"ish songs doesn't mean she was a j-rock artist. :rolleyes I like her rock songs, but I miss some of the more trancey ones. :(

Which of her rock songs not from I am... do you find to be poseur? I can see how GAME would be, but I thought Because of You was the closest to "real" rock she got o.o

ayuchanfan 16th September 2004 09:24 PM

yeah ayu does well in rocks songs! i want another Duty like album!

CT_Cool 16th September 2004 09:26 PM

Ayu sound great in carols, very nice and soft. So gald that she did a song like this but I miss some of the more trancey ones to :yes.

AfanforXX 16th September 2004 09:50 PM

:rolleyes gotta love poseur-rock :laugh

On a lighter note, CAROLS isn't a bad song, as a matter of fact, I kinda like it, it's just not very interesting. Been there, done that, moved on.

Hugo_Perry 16th September 2004 10:26 PM

Hamasaki Ayumi is waking up to her sense in music. Honestly, i been waiting for one of her recent work to touch me since wishing. You could actually realize that CAROLS had the taste of wishing, No way to say and Moments! Somehow it's a very sad music to me. The first time i heard it was like OH! MY! GOD! I'm crying! Even though i'm crying there's something 'bout the song i wanted more been listening it for already 3 days!!! :love LOVE IT!

hightea_xx 16th September 2004 11:29 PM

i think the whole j-pop genre is about jumping from several music types, and never staying the same. This isn't always true, because there are artists who stick to mainly the same type of music (example: Nakashima Mika is mostly a ballads and jazzy artist, in my opinion). I like Carols because it's something new and refreshing, and it will make her next album more interesting than having just rock style j-pop and "loud" songs. About You looks rock style, and loud is refering to Inspire, but in no way does the word "loud" imply a negative meaning in this case. If we look at other artists, we can see the same sort of trend, jumping from song styles to song styles. H!P artists do a mix of everything, ballads, rb-esque, rock-ish, hyper cutey songs. I think that Carols is a welcomed addition to the singles released so far, and I think it is more ballad than Moments. What do we classify Moments, anyways? Ballad?

lol That's it for me too.

But I don't consider the song "I am..." a rockish song. For me it's kinda Indie Pop.

what else would it be? it's a ballad by all means.

Nessa 17th September 2004 06:28 AM

I think Ayu just needs to write more songs period. The only song you've guys mentioned which wasn't written by Ayu was "Connected" and that was written by fallen trance God Ferry Corsten. nearly all the songs Ayu writes herself are classic and never get old... I wish she'd make more albums like "I Am..." ;__;

I want another "still alone"!! I love that song!! :(

Kazuko 20th September 2004 05:32 AM

humm.. i really can't decide.. i'll love ayu either way... whether she does j-pop, j-rock,.. or the trance-like songs.. i love 'em all :D

gakkun 20th September 2004 02:07 PM

I actually want Ayu to do a LOVEppears-ish song...those songs had the best melodies back then. I'd hate her to go back to I am... style because, to be honest, Ayu wasn't the best composer in the world and most of the songs on there sound so simplistic now after 2498237592357 repeats. Most songs were saved only by the great arrangements.

weijie22 20th September 2004 02:09 PM

yeh
i prefer ayumi in a more decent than a rock one

AfanforXX 21st September 2004 01:26 PM

^^ rock isn't indecent, it's just not apologetic.

hanabiwings 24th September 2004 05:57 PM

I think CAROLS is a fantastic song. Definitely different from her normal melodies and more acoustic than most of her songs. I like the idea of piano and a few other instruments without the usual "ayu-ish" sound. I think it is a departure. Also, the melody is quite, quite, quite different from what I'm used to from her. I haven't heard such a different song for some time... I can't even remember the last time I was this surprised by the music.
