What's wrong with Ayu's right side of the face?

if we look at the singles cover, we can see her face from mainly 3 angles: left, right, front.

here's a tally of each angle:

LEFT: you, for my dear, whatever, love destiny, boys & girls, a, kanariya, fly high, surreal, m, endless sorrow, unite, daybreak, free & easy, voyage, &, inspire, carols

RIGHT: vogue, far away, dearest

CENTRE: trust, depend on you, appears, seasons, evolution, never ever, a song is born, forgiveness, no way to say, moments

Cannot be classified: poker face (looking from top), to be (mirror image and hence cant tell if it is left or right), audience, H (multiple covers)

the left side of her face is shown the most. so what is wrong with her right side of her face?????????

kinix 31st October 2004 04:50 PM

it's kinda incredible that u actually take note of this =.="
maybe there's nothing wrong just that it's coincidence?
or maybe her left side looks nicer?

boogieordie 31st October 2004 04:54 PM

She had a pimple on it?

I don't think this is any indication that anything is wrong with that side of her face, usually there is just a "good side" when photographing, or there are other factors that determine which way she faces. I dunno.

I think this is a bit weird to consider.

extepan 31st October 2004 04:56 PM

i am totally open to suggestions :)

Corybobory 31st October 2004 04:58 PM

Most people just prefer certain sides of things... like I prefer my right hand, my left foot... my right eye... my left side of my brain... if I clasp my hands together my left thumb is always on top. In the majority of paintings, the light source is coming from the same side... Maybe when Ayumi poses, she turns so her left side of her face is showing more.

FuNsTyLe 31st October 2004 04:58 PM

you need to get out more... LOL,,, j/k... I dunno... probably a coincidink:)

ImpactBreaker 31st October 2004 05:41 PM

I think it has more to do with her being in the right side of the cover. It's probably more visually attractive to the majority if she's placed at the right side of the cover. It might be something to do with business marketing and or photography (anyone studies these subjects here in AHS?), you know, how a lot of things follow certain patterns in order to be more attractive. But do remmember the fact she appears in the right side with a supposedly "left side" of her face does not mean that is the left side of her face. we live in the computer era, it's extremely easy to mirror pics. There's a high chance some of those pics are actually from her right side of the face and they were mirrored in order for ayu to be placed at the right side of the cover. of course this is mostly speculations by me.

ImpactBreaker 31st October 2004 05:50 PM

Another thing to point out is, she's usually looking through the rest of the scenario and in covers like Voyage and I am.. the rest of the scenario continues through the back cover. If she was placed looking to the right side, her eyesight would get lost with the rest of the scenario, and there wouldn't be much sense in putting the rest of the scenario going on. I'm not sure if i'm being very confusing with this explanation though.

y2687 31st October 2004 06:30 PM

.... O_o this is the weirdest thread yet.

aiko_hoshi 31st October 2004 06:38 PM

i learned in art that the left side of the face of a persons face is more beautiful/attractive than the right. ^.^

REALLY???

when i come to think of it, i have some spots on my right face and none on my left :)

ayuchanfan 31st October 2004 08:38 PM

maybe she prefers her face taken at a certain angle because she seems to look better at that angle

ayumi_pukka89 31st October 2004 08:48 PM

The strange thing is...I just looked in my mirror and compared the right and left sides of my face.........sad....
^^;

Kazuko 31st October 2004 08:48 PM

dude.. you must've been HELLA bored XDD

jerms 31st October 2004 08:57 PM

lmfao

Qt Mashi 31st October 2004 09:14 PM

lol people are thinking too much these days

Catzi 31st October 2004 09:49 PM

You're really what I would call a devote fan to pay attention to such things. ^_^ lol

zeroshin888 31st October 2004 09:52 PM

i think..all sides of her face is perfect?
well..
i donno..there is nothing wrong...coincidence..like everyone else have said..

ohsixthirty 1st November 2004 12:42 AM

Hrm...I dunno. I doubt anything is wrong w/ either side of her face. I have noticed though that in a lot of places it seems like one of her eyes is slightly more closed than the other.

As for me, I always turn my left side towards the camera because it looks better.

Catzi 1st November 2004 03:47 AM

With usually all people, one eye is bigger than the other. Take a closer look at your eyes, and you'll see!

Hok 1st November 2004 03:57 AM

Coincidence, unless it's product placement or whatever that word that I am looking for.

Oh yeah, I already know one of mine is! Haha!

And one of my jaws is less "square" than the other as well.

kenkamken 1st November 2004 05:17 AM

huh...?

......?
..........?
*Lost her way*

Oh, right! Um....wait...lol...

CREATE 2nd November 2004 03:27 AM

maybe she wants to hide sumthin in her right face...
but i never noticed this until you mentioned it here
you must be really good at paying attentions to small things...

FancySN 2nd November 2004 03:32 AM

well, faces are symmetrical, you know. They may not be perfectly symmetricl, but the differences are usually so slight that nobody cares.

Unless if you have pimple on one side of your face, that is.

extepan 5th November 2004 05:25 AM

this thread is moved to enquiries....LOL
you know this thread is not exactly an enquiry into what is wrong with ayu's right side of the face, but to discuss why the single covers almost always shows her left side of her face :)

M_aria 5th November 2004 06:05 PM

Maybe she wants to be like Barbara Straisand...

shake_shake_pig 5th November 2004 07:11 PM

well...I've read somewhere in the magazine that pics mostly taken with the left side of the face...that's just how it work...don't think it has anything in particular with Ayu's face...why don't you do a comparative study of some other atists? maybe they do take most of the shots from left side...

Zesty 6th November 2004 05:00 AM

ive noticed this too.

extepan 6th November 2004 05:44 AM

so the conclusion is that the left side of the face is more attractive? i have to make use of this when i take photos :D

~K+ 6th November 2004 07:21 AM

I'm sure it varies from person to person, just grab a mirror and stare at yourself all day to decide whether you like your left side better or right side better.

Hugo_Perry 6th November 2004 04:21 PM

Eh?! :eyebrow I dun't think that's anythingy wrong with it at all because any side of Hamasaki Ayumi is always beautiful! :lech Well... :tired Maybe there's sumefin' goooin' on her right side of the face that she gotta yell at the camera man " Don't you dare take my right side of my face or i gonna sue you! Then you better watch out! " Hahaha... :D Jost kiddin'

starr5245 8th November 2004 05:37 AM

hey, i think she's used to posing with her right side to the camera. I noticed that you did not take into account the magazine pictures shots she had taken.

extepan 10th November 2004 10:20 AM

indeed my discussion was limited to the singles cover

Bishoujo Ayumi 19th November 2004 03:35 PM

I look bad on any side because I have a big nose. The only time I ever look good is if you look at me straight ahead.

This is just strange though..that you pay that much attention to it. I'm pretty sure it's just coincedence..I don't think Ayu is trying to show us any kind of pattern or anything o_o

CREATE 25th November 2004 05:59 AM

i think the right side of her face is fine
just look at the album cover of ayu-mi-x II NonStop Mega Mix Version &, A BALLADS for example, her face looks fine right?

so i think her right face is equally as beautiful as her left face
nothing's wrong there

walking proud 29th November 2004 02:07 AM

well those are just singles ^^ not on other things..

mui-gei-tal 29th November 2004 02:46 AM

maybe she finds her left side more attracting?

woooops sorry! didn't see that! :D

extepan 29th November 2004 04:08 PM

surprisingly for albums most of the pics have her staring right into the camera, while for singles they show her left side of her face

MedJohn 29th November 2004 04:21 PM

maybe it's to do w/ the way u open ur CD case
since photographing the left side makes ayu facing the spine of the CD case

MariachiGurl2005 29th November 2004 06:50 PM

O.o... riiight...

ImpactBreaker 29th November 2004 09:22 PM

Pictures can be mirrored. There's absolutely no proof that what they show is indeed the left sde of her face.

but her back of hte head can face the spine of the cd, right? so why use her face to face the spine of the cd?
