Bah, knowing the sort of idiots that read GQ over-here, I'm not sure if this is a good thing.....

i'm not trying to start an argument...but i feel kinda offended...so i wanna list out some of my concerns:

1) ppl that post these pics here not necessarily read the mag...like i got this pic from another ayu forum

2) i wonder if itz a nice thing calling ppl idiots just because they have a different choice of reading than some other ppl

whoa. ayu looks gorgeous as usual, but those guys are just nasty! What is up with that? why would a guy magazine print photos of guys looking like that? unless they were trying to please both perspectives.... :laugh I'm not sure how I feel about this move from ayu.

so is she going to appear on the american GQ as well? That would be awesome! I don't read GQ, but it would be the first time I look at it. I usually read Guitar World, game magazines, and the occassional Maxim, and the even rarer Playboy.

i doubt she'll appear in the American GQ. she's appeared on the Japanese version of Time Magazine, but not the American one.

it seems like it would be trashy but the photographer did that pic in a way it seems almost elegant (in a weird way -- but the guys still freak me out). its very unique and the necklace is lovely.

There's nothing wrong with these sort of mags per se, unless you want Ayu being classed as a brainless bimbo, which most people associate with the woman that magazines such as GQ cover.

It's just mere modeling, she was obviously going for something controversial and I think it worked out very well. I don't find anything "shocking" or "appalling" by any of it. I think it's totally ridiculous that so many get offended and upset with ayu modeling with men. She's going to do it and there is nothing anyone can do about it. I think when she does model with guys, the outcome is very unique and it's nice to look at. I'm just getting so sick and tired of people raising hell over nothing. Just look back when she modeled with the guy in ViVi. People got so upset just because they were touching. Also with "H", people couldn't stand the fact that there was guy in the covers and booklets. It's just ignorant to act in such a rash manor. This also coinciding with people getting so upset over the fact that she's with Tomoya Nagase, and all the guys that like her threaten to kill him. I know some are joking, but some go a little too far and act a bit too serious. It's just stupid. Wow, she's with modeling with other people, let's cry. :rolleyes

I have no problem with the photo's themselves, just with GQ magazine.
I can't remember whose quote this was, but I think it was by someone who wrote for the magazine a couple of years back......they said something along the lines of "GQ is basically for men who are too embarrassed to walk into a shop and buy 'top shelf' mags". In other-words it's aimed at the 'tits n larger' generation.
Whilst I have nothing against either tits nor larger, I'm not so sure it's a good thing for Ayu to be associated with, in fact I'm sure it isn't.
Also - having semi-naked steroid pumped men may seem strange in what was originally a 'lads' mag, but in fact the magazine has a large gay following now so I'm told.......and no, I'm not gay either thank you ^_^

In my opinion if ayu was actually that way, then I'd have a problem with those pictures, but so isn't so i'm fine with it. I think Ayu looks very sexy and isn't really doing anything too distasteful. Those pictures could haev been a lot worse, as far as sexually. I really like these pictures and i LOVE that black dress, it's so cute ^_^

I can't believe that I haven't responded to this post yet!! Well...I don't see anything really wrong about these pics besides the guys (sheesh...lol), but although Ayu seems pretty provacatively here, I don't think she'd actually do that in real life. But as to why she'd agree to that is anyone's guess...sex appeal? promotion of herself? money? all the above? I'm not sure...just that if she continues on this trend, who knows what else she'd be willing to do...

It's only once in a while these kind of pix come up. The magazines would probably want to make ayu do these sort of photoshoots. But ayumi probably doesnt like these pictures. The want her to look like super sexy woman, but we all know ayumi is ... well... she has morals. And the Hanabi thing, well that was just plain stupid. Oh! About my earlier post... what a releif!

I can't believe that Ayu is "forced" to do anything in a photo-shoot she doesn't want to. I mean, she is doing the magazine a favor by agreeing to help do promotions for it, so they really can't force to do anything she doesn't want to. Ayu keeps growing and developing in her own way. No one can deny that she hasn't been displaying a sexier image lately.

What I heard is, that Ayu not really wanted to do a “best of album” at that point of her career.
Because “best of albums” are often published at the end of a singer-career.
That might be also the reason why she is crying on the cover and at the commercial clips for that album.
But I’m not 100% sure about that.
