Has anybody noticed....

Has anybody notice that when ayu sings live a song like "Angels song" and "I am..." That when the get to the wierd sounding part when they make her voice sound electric or somethin does she lipsynch that or do they do somethin to the microphone and have her sing into it and make that funny noise?

FancySN 1st April 2005 11:13 PM

I've always wondered that too. o.o Because I don't think it's possible to actually sing those parts without electronic manipulation....so I guess she just lipsynches it?

//hikari 1st April 2005 11:23 PM

she doesn't lipsynch it ... I don't know the actual term for it but she sings .. they just change settings at a certain part using some sort of computer (or some guy)

JinHamasaki 1st April 2005 11:31 PM

On "I am..." she did lipsync it (it sounds EXACTLY like the cd track)

But at STADIUM TOUR 2002, she sings "too late". She later introduces the remix guy that is in charge of that. When she sings the muxed part in "too late", you can sometimes still hear her voice without a lot of the effect.

Catzi 1st April 2005 11:43 PM

I noticed that about "I am.." but never about ANGEL'S SONG

~Amy~ 1st April 2005 11:49 PM

Yeah I heard the wierd sound in Angels Song too. On the live the Lebutler posted. i think it was on Ayuready... Like right before it gets to the end of the song.

Arena Tour 2002 (or some other year..) That's the one that sounds lipsynched.

norain 2nd April 2005 02:06 AM

Well gee, they turn off the microphone and put on the backup track at exactly the right moments, unless she's breathing hard as she sings they won't...because then it's noticible

Damn are computers the **** these day or what?
I do always see her calling out everybody in her band.

JinHamasaki 3rd April 2005 05:00 AM

Hey, there are even computers that adjust the the vocals to a better pitch LIVE.

~Amy~ 3rd April 2005 05:11 AM

damn... ^_^ O_O Oh... so that's how ashlee simpson got by before SNL! :rofl :bgiggle

Ayurendy 3rd April 2005 07:04 AM

there is a MANIPULATOR foe those sound

ImpactBreaker 3rd April 2005 09:06 AM

When there's something she can't sing she closes her mouth and let the playing vocals flow, to show that she's not lipsynching nor singing . Ayu seems pretty honest in that part.

Rickumi 3rd April 2005 06:47 PM

Eletronic parts are done by computer manipulating. (as an comp. engineer i can say so). but is theese cases she just lipcsynch, but it does not mean she dind song the whole stuff for example. In Arena Tour 2002 the beging and the end of "I am"were made by aprogramed playback, thats all. And tha´st the pretty same thing they use in TV lives.... did u guys get it?

Sometimes i get cunfused with my enRish here....

hamayu 3rd April 2005 10:03 PM

I never really noticed any of these things in the songs I am or Angels song....but i do find it alot in Greatful Days and Trauma and Inspire and ofcourse Game.....though not all of them r performed live.... in one of her live tours she sang Trauma and i did notice the voice change in some parts....but obiously she doesnt lip sing..............my friend said dat its errrm wats the term..........................like ppl dont like it wen the singers lip sing cuz den its like a rip off..

Jennie Mae 4th April 2005 06:35 AM

Yeah, I noticed the ANGEL'S SONG part in Arena Tour 03-04. It kind of bothered me. But it's just part of the music, I think, not her actual vocal (obviously). Ayu needs a singing break sometime, it's hard singing and dancing on a big stage with bright lights!

starr5245 5th April 2005 11:32 AM

i think all these are really fake! I don't know. Perhaps Ayumi should really take a break from everything in order to recover.

//hikari 5th April 2005 03:16 PM

she does them for effects on the song .... not to 'take a breather' o.O

hamayu 26th April 2005 10:52 PM

... she doesn't lip synch..... well at least i dont think she does... wat if she suddenly forgot how to sing ith and ends up doin sometin else compeltely?.... then everyone wud know.....and she does have vocals.... and even for th effects they use a voice manipulater or soemtin.... Her mic is special

^^""

extepan 27th April 2005 02:59 PM

i must say those performances sound too much like the cd, that i cant help thinking she is lip synching

MsMiyabi 27th April 2005 03:27 PM

Ayu lips synch and we all know it you can tell how tired she is she sweats like a dog, I never heard her take a breath so that proves it

lolo66 28th April 2005 06:00 AM

There is special microphone that people can sing into and the sound will automatically turned into eletronic sounding

saw it on one episode of the Regis show ...ohhh ||||

starr 29th April 2005 05:04 AM

no if you watch any videos she lipsinks it.. i realize that although ayu does alot of live performances.. even in her area tours she lip sings atleast a few tracks.. and i am rite about this.. if you want to argue bring it

[taskin.ayu] 29th April 2005 07:08 AM

It's mircophone voice manipulation. You can tell since when she was singing "GAME" at A-Nation '04 you could totally tell that it is her voice being manipulated with the mic since it sounds different to the normal CD version. :3 I don't know about the other performances though. u__u;;

Bakuhatsu 29th April 2005 07:16 AM

there was some hair band back in the 80's that pionered something they called the "golden throat" it was a small very sensitive microphone taped to the singers throat, and then plugged into his guitar. The mic would pic up whatever he was saying, but it would get distorted by his guitar, so it came out all multi-toned and metalic sounding.

In ayu's case however, I doubt the microphone has anything to do with it, all it takes is some simple soundboard mixing to change a song all you like. No preformer ever does a concert without someone mixing the tracks live at a soundboard, even if its just for level checking.

greggerz189 29th April 2005 09:07 PM

they use a backing track where the electro-synthesized vocal parts are present and playback.
