So, what do you guys think. I like it, but I don't understand why she's holding a baby. I don't know, maybe I was expecting something that had to do more with Oral Fixation (I don't know what the cover would be, though :p). But it just makes me more excited for it!!!!

The image of the baby represents the concept of oral fixation, the stage in life where infants constantly need stimulation of the mouth. sorry, but that is not 100% correct. according to freudian psychoanalytical theory, the oral stage means that the infant DERIVES pleasure from the mouth. it has nothing to do with stimulating the mouth.

deriving pleasure from the mouth means that the infant gets satisfaction through his mouth, namely sucking the nipple to get food.

the second stage is the anal stage, which means that the infant derives pleasure from gaining control of his bowel (meaning he doesnt **** his pants). he learns that his mother will like him more if he gains control of his bowels.

then comes a stage where just staying continent will not get the child any care and attention, he needs something more. then comes the phallic stage. you can guess what it signifies :)

the fourth stage is the oedipal stage. this is when boys develop castration anxiety and girls develop penis envy. the child develops love for the parent of the opposite sex, and hate for the parent of the same sex because the same sex parent gets to love the same sex parent.

the fifth stage is the latent stage. during this period, nothing much happens.

then the final stage is when the person reaches adolescent and discovers his sexuality.
