dark brown and blondish coz she always have that hair color all the time ~~

hiroko1234 7th May 2005 06:45 PM

she has black hair in ourselves PV and kanariya PV, she also performed A Song for XX vogue and SURREAL with black hair in DOME TOUR 2001.

Brittany 7th May 2005 06:46 PM

Well, when she first started, didn't she have her natural color? Most of the time you can tell someone's natural color by looking at their eyebrows :P

Alanchan 7th May 2005 07:11 PM

@Brittany: ^_^; Ayu´s eyebrows have always the same colour as her current hair colour (blond/light brown), they are never dark brown or black

@jasjass: her natural hair colour would be dark brown I think, because of her live performas on stage when she was 15, you can see that there. She said in one of the AyuReady-episodes, that she thinks that black or dark brown hair doesn´t suit her o_O; (well, I don´t think so...) ...nya, half of her hair part is now black ^^; maybe someday all will be black, who knows...

Brittany 7th May 2005 07:12 PM

I mean when she first started out in the music business .. :P

devilayu 7th May 2005 07:45 PM

Is this a joke? Because her real hair color is obviously black/really dark brown, it's impossible for her real hair color to be brown and blonde. Ayumi's been dying her hair for a long time but when she started out with Avex, it was presumably the original hair color (black). Now, she's just been dying it light colors possibly because we're all used to it and because she refuses to show her roots. She's bleached her hair for so long, the darker dyes actually won't stick to it.

re: eyebrows - That's pretty true that one can tell the real hair color by eyebrows but it doesn't always work because alot of people dye their eyebrows now, and I've known blondes with darker eyebrows before ^^

jasjasss 7th May 2005 08:04 PM

if she keeps dying her hair .. wouldnt that damage her hair :S
lol !!

Brittany 7th May 2005 08:30 PM

Um, not sure about it damaging. I've been coloring my hair for a long time, but I don't know about Ayu. All of the chemicals in the hair color is very damaging.

Raleigh 7th May 2005 09:39 PM

Depends on your hair type I guess... I've been colouring my hair since I was 13 and it's quite the same as it was before. Also due to improvement in the hair and colour industry dying hair is not so harmful as before especially if you don't use peroxide.

Echiko 7th May 2005 10:31 PM

original hair color is black. XD but yes. her hair prolly has alot of treatment to keep it looking so healthy. o_o it does look healthy..

Qt Mashi 8th May 2005 05:58 AM

lol hehhe her real hair colour is black ofcourse, but i relli like her with dyed hair and i have seen her with black hair in some PV's or concerts :)

kournikova 8th May 2005 06:21 AM

dunno... maybe black/dark brown

Hanazaki 8th May 2005 07:03 AM

Well, with so many asian people continuously dying their hair brown or blonde, it just seems like a normal thing to do nowadays.

When you earn as much as Ayu, I'm sure you can afford tons of haircare products to be able to have good, healthy looking hair even if you dyed it a million times :lech

Larisa-chan 8th May 2005 08:06 AM

I think it'd be cool if she dyed her hair black for a little while.. her hair's been that honey colored blonde for so long~~

Also, her hair doesn't always look healthy. If you watch some lives of her, her hair looks frizzed and damaged.

Not really. My eyebrows are black but my natural hair colour is brown.

She dyed it black once while she was doing "Ayu Ready" but by the next episode, the black dye was washed off her hair. That's what happens when you bleach your hair for too long, so it really is damaged. Her hair staff just hides it well with gels and stuff.

oceantrax 9th May 2005 03:02 AM

Her hair is very very very dark brown like all asian girls ^ ^

Yeah, that's what I meant earlier. Her hair is probably quite damaged from continuous-bleaching, but her stylists will have some treatments of making it *look* healthy...if she ever stops those kind of treatments, it'll probably be really bad....:/

I think many popular stars who change their hair frequently will have the same problem too. Didn't Christina Aguilera bleach her hair so much that she began to lose a lot of hair? I read that somewhere that it is why she changes back to black hair recently.

apples 9th May 2005 03:19 AM

her original hair color is black. not very, very dark brown. it was black. i think after dying it too much it stayed brown......idk. sometimes her hair seems so natural because we've seen her like this for forever and a day, it's difficult to imagine her with black hair. but i saw a way back when her idol days performance she had black hair, and her teeth weren't fixed, she looked very different compared to the ayu we know today. sadly i dont have that performance..... :( someone here surely does.

lolo66 9th May 2005 01:31 PM

go back to the days and you will see darker (blackish) hair Ayu.

and on a side note, not all asian has natural black hair, not even the East Asians. The color specturm do naturally varies.

Have you thought that maybe she used a shampoo with a dye? I forgot the actual name... I've used these products where you wash your hair and then apply it and there it goes away gradually if you wash it till they disappear after 8 weeks or so. Plus there are also sprays which are applied and then disappear completely after washing it. So maybe in the AyuReady episode she did so since she doesn't seem a fan of black. Plus black and reds always fades first especially if your hair has a tendency to change into a lighter colour. Mine - for example has a tendency to turn into a slightly orangish-blonde shade whenever I dye my hair.

Also I don't really think her hair is that damaged. Usually hairdressers ensure you get minimal damage by using less peroxide and using honey based dyes. And I'm sure she has professional hairdressers to take care of her hair not to forget that I believe she used wigs and extensions quite a lot and thus she might not dye her hair as much as we do believe. Also she cuts her hair quite frequently which helps to make your hair healthier.

Of course she might have days where her hair looks damaged but I think all of us have these days. And I'm sure her hair is more likely to be damaged than a person who has never dyed his or her hair however I don't think it is so damaged since she frequently cuts it and seems to take care of it.

gogirlanime 9th May 2005 06:54 PM

Hello guys!!! She's ASIAN!!! AAAAAAAAAAALL Asians, their natural color is black, unless there is some miracle gene that gives them a different color. She dyes her eyebrows too, I see it in Japanese fashion magazines all the time, they dye their eyebrows too

Actually, she was asked about the hair color in an "Ayu Ready" episode afterwards, and she said that the color washed out accidentally. It was actual dye, and not the shampoo stuff (which I doubt works well anyway).

I've also bleached and dyed my hair, so I'm also talking from some experience. If you remember back then, she basically had platinum blonde hair. It wouldn't be surprising if her hair wasn't in top condition anymore, if it's damaged, it's damaged. Besides, half her hair is extensions a lot of the time, and that hides the damage as well.
