I dont know wether those particular vans are promotion tools or not, but with them all lined up like that, its either that or they are on their way to a car show.

There is nothing special about the vans themselves, there are plenty of vans with body work like that, and most have artwork of some kind on them.

(hearsay, confirm this) Vans like that were originaly like taxis, only there was a prostitute in back...... and you payed for more than just a ride (in the van). Naturaly there is a status that gets applied to men who drive these cars, similar to that of a pimp in america. some people wishing to attain this status began to modify their own vans, and now they are quite common and nolonger carry the prostitution association, though those type still exist.

actually these vans are from hardcore ayufans. You can always see them near the concert-buildings during an ayu concert.

But then... the question is... why does this "hardcore fans" that we are talking owns only vans?? why not remodel their cars? Cars would be much cooler right?

some are for avex (you can see the person in the jumpsuit digging around in one) and some are ayu fans. Many I've seen are just fans. There are tons of ayu vans out there. I've seen about 30 different ones. Those last two are the newest I've seen.

Why vans? Big, roomy, you can put up posters, more space to do art on. There are a few cars, but they're too small to do art on.

Vans are more ideal for travelling right? usually these people are seen travelling across the country to Ayu's concerts. It makes since.

And since owning a vehicle of any kind costs lots of money (driver's license [in most cities it's well over $1,000 US even over $10,000 and over $20,000... I'm not exxagerating....] driving courses, the cost of having a parking space, and the vehicle) it's good to have a vehicle which can be used for multiple purposes. Even though vehicles aren't a necessity due to the excellent public transportation

Nope, they are hard core Ayu fans. I saw 2 of these vans at the Hiroshima show and no, they were not selling any merchandise.

I'd imagine when you see them all lined up like that, it is probabally before one of her concerts in Tokyo.

This one don't have the mobster Ayu, that was my fav.

They are. There is a fan-report thread about the ARENA 2005 tour or was it CDL 2004-05, anyway, it has newer pics.

That....is a lot of vans. Theyre all equally cute/cool!!! But i love the white one with Ayu in a cartoon.....were these pictures taken in Japan?
