Can Ayu really be that perfect?
 

This has bugged me for a while. Ayu's face seems almost flawless, her bone structure, skine, everything. Which begs the question has she ever had anything done? I mean, how many japanese artists are THAT good looking? Or who knows, maybe she had really good genes. Ya never know.

To me, shes got some huge long ears lol :yes , and editing can do a lot to a person's looks in pictures etc, like make their skin smoother than it actually is, its better if you based it on live performances / talks rather than photos and stuff, so....meh :innocent

AND we've only seen her face and stuff, maybe Ayu has like...a big lump of meat hanging down the inside of her thighs or something, or like a really pimply/hairy upper stomache lol :eyebrow

Her albums are retouched beyond reality, I do agree. But on her lives, shes not that bad either. Just a little sweaty >__< But her skin does look a little unhuman in her album pictures, especially rainbow.

I don't think she's done surgery, and if she has, I could really care less.

hmm..with all the money she have..i think she can do some treatment to her body although i believe that she has ever done a plastic surggery. she is original.why she can look like this.it just because make up,its the power of make up you know

Hm, I wonder if anyone has ever taken one of those "stars without makeup" pictures of Ayu. But then again, it probably wouldn't look much different. Just less mascara.

In a few Ayuready episodes, it seems she didn't wear any makeup at all.

She's not that perfect. She wears lots of make-up and her magazine/CD shoots are no doubt retouched.

Watch some of the making-of's or concert off-shots and you'll see the difference.

I've also seen Sumomomo, Ladies Saigo no Hi, and the TV show Miseinen - all things before Ayu was famous and she looks the same to me too. I was able to find them on WinMX but it took a very long time to get them.

not to be rude, but i think many of you are in denial...just look at how her nose has changed shape through the years...there were periods when her nose looked flawless, and periods where it looked not so great...

Whether she has had plastic surgery or not, has no impact on her music what so ever. However, unless you have proof, I wouldn't be saying that she has for sure had plastic surgery. From everything I have seen including many things from her younger days and a picture of her mother, her nose and eyes look the same to me.

You also shouldn't trust "official" pictures as evidence such as magazine covers, album covers etc. because they almost always are retouched to make them look a certain way.

It's called bad makeup artists and good ones. Or maybe different angles that you were looking from.

Seriously, Ayu has never been perfect. She's short, doesn't exactly have a good body, and can't really dance even though she tries to. But it doesn't stop her being a great artist.

I don't think shes perfect other wise she wouldnt have to dye her hair every twelve hours. But I do think she is gorgeous, she's like wine gets better with age. The only other artist/star that I can compare her to, would be jessica alba she is gorgeous as well.

I'm not gonna turn this into another debate about if she's gotten surgery or not, but I do know this: most pictures of Ayu are probably airbrushed, she does have gorgeous skin, but it's usually fixed with a computer. Ayu wears false eyelashes, that's how every eyelash is perfectly separated. She wears liquid eyeliner, so the black is perfect and never smudged. I PERSONALLY believe she had eye surgery, not to make her eyes bigger, but so she could have a double eyelid and to get rid of the puffy skin under her eyes, if you look at older pictures of her, she's always had huge eyes. Her teeth, they have probably been whitened and straightened cosmetically cuz a lot of Japanese have really bad teeth. Most Jpop stars get a lot of stuff done, not much of Ayu it truly real.

Being a fan doesn't mean you have to think that Ayu's perfect. That's just nuts.

Yes, that was her second tour in the year 2000.

Not very good pictures to judge but I'd take a guess with her top lid looking darker, presumably light eyeliner only on the top eyelid with maybe some mascara and perhaps just foundation or perhaps powder on her skin so sweat doesn't show up, stage lights are -really- hot, no blush or lipstick at all is obvious. Eyeliner/mascara is common for stage performers, even male although this is more common in theatre, so that the eyes stand out so even from far away you can see the eyes.

i really believe that she has good genes.... hahah something weird my mum say, she say ayu probably has a mixed blood, as in her father maybe a caucasian or a mixed...

sometimes it is the camera angle which make ayu to look a bit different.. yeah thats what i think.. so we still cant judge whether ayu is perfect from the photos, mag scans or live vcds/dvds.. we can only judge if we see her personally... really...

however, in my opinion, i think ayu is really perfect... she is not perfect because she is perfect, she is perfect because she wanted to be perfect :)

If Ayu WAS perfect, it wouldn't be that fun to be a fan. It's the small things like forgetting a few words while performing Trauma or a tooth a little farther back that make us like her more. I do agree there is a lot of pressure in the industry and she has depended a lot on her looks to sell albums.

I agree with biku. It's the little "imperfect" things about ayu that makes her so appealing, but in my book, she is really amazingly beautiful. To me, her little flaws though actually make her more "human" rather than "imperfect" :b.

Finally found it again, portfolio of retouching, put your mouse over the image to see the untouched, original photo, it gives one an idea of just how much photoshopping can accomplish. Mind you there's women in swimsuits and lingerie and whatnot so not kid safe. For those who know who Vida Guerra is, apparently what made her famous is just a bunch of clone brush and airbrush, her posterior isn't anything to write home about.

^ that's an interesting site, but it's obvious that any pic that's to be published is going to have retouches like that. It's a given. But it's the people's actual personalities that makes them beautiful when you see pics of them without all the glam :3.
