Ayu Taking an intrest in Reggae?

Well I think that she might like Reggae since she has been having remix that sound Reggae.
CAROLS ~ Criminal Tribal Mix~
Step you "Taki-**** step up more mix"

So what do you guys think? Do you think she will make more Reggae sounding remixes I the future? Do you think Ayu like Reggae?

elepop 29th July 2005 04:43 PM

Well, she's not the one who does the remix so who knows if she likes that are not. And it's not the first time she does reggea like remixes. Her first Ayu-m-ix album was filled with those. Like POWDER SNOW "dub's sentimental remix", A Song for XX "dub's loverdub remix" and from your letter "Dub you crazy mix". (Basically, a few of dub's remix)

Personally, I don't mind reggea like remixes. As long as her music doesn't turn reggea. Because I hate it... Yes. HATE.

~Amy~ 29th July 2005 04:48 PM

Well I kow she doesn't mix them but I am sure she listened to the song on her own single, I mean that would be kinda stupid putting a song you don't like on your single right? O_o
Don't get me wrong I know ayumi's music probably isn't going into a reggae direction, I just thought that since she has reggae like remix's that maybe she likes reggae...

Syphex 29th July 2005 04:49 PM

You have to remember that ayu does not remix her own songs. Avex gets dj's to do all the trance/euro/dance style mixes. We dont even know whether ayu likes her own remixes.

devilayu 29th July 2005 04:58 PM

I sort of doubt that Ayumi has the time to listen to all of her remixes, although I'm confident that she's heard at least some of her trance ones. I'm not sure how much input Ayumi has on which extra tracks are put on her singles but it's doubtful she was like, "Yeah, let's do a reggae mix." Someone at Avex probably liked the track and stuck it in the CD.

asongforxx - hahahahaa, reggae isn't my thing either. I hate when they play it at clubs because half the time you're like, "...what? You can't dance to this..."

Yeah, I agree with you. Ayumi may like some of them, but she's probably not focused on using reggae in the future. Like, it's not a main goal to herself. I'm guessing. :)

:yes

~Amy~ 29th July 2005 06:01 PM

I know that! But I was just thinking maybe she likes some other type of music then rock... Oh well I guess we will never know... *sighs*

Corybobory 29th July 2005 07:07 PM

Ew I hope she doesnt get a big raggae influence, yuck :p Speaking of Raeggae Robbie Williams new album supposedly has some influences. Noooooo!

Yeap, she sang some trace mixes live; M (Above & Beyond) was sung at velfarre. (Unfortunately there is no full version; only a short clip :(:(:()

~Amy~ 29th July 2005 07:48 PM

Yeah,Yeah...
And I said not reggae in her MUSIC but just in her REMIXES.
I wish ayu could go into a litltle hip hop direction like Nothing from Nothing. *giggles* She sounds so kawaii on that CD...

I'm not a BIG fan of reggae but it's not that bad. (I like Sean Paul lol)

Coelacanth 29th July 2005 07:49 PM

Reggae is chiiill. Am I the only one who thinks Humming 7/4 would have made a good ska song?

Hip-hop? No. That's even worst! :eyebrow

And Sean Paul... Man, I hate this guy. :headache LOL.

~Amy~ 30th July 2005 01:21 AM

Wow we are really different... *laughs* :eyebrow :thud

Tasked 30th July 2005 07:54 AM

I'd like ayu do produce songs/remixes in ALL possible styles. So including reggae, ska, hiphop etc.. As long as she keeps her main styles in pop and rock. She already has so many styles.

hopeorpain 30th July 2005 08:41 AM

What is 'raggae' ?

Tasked 30th July 2005 09:15 AM

^ It's a type of music from Jamaica...

DA1SUK1DAY01691 30th July 2005 10:46 AM

it's a genre of music that uses much more precussion than most music... reggae isn't that bad... but i find it irritating when they play it at one of our dances, like Bob Marley or something, because I can't dance to it.... I know you can, but i don't know how....

imagina12y 30th July 2005 11:09 AM

LOL i don't like reggae/reggaeton either but i like sean paul!! o_O

i'm pretty sure there were other remixes that sounded reggae-ish...i mean ayu has so many!!! i can't think of any off the top of my head though.

extepan 30th July 2005 01:25 PM

i dont like reggae...but i dont mind reggae mixes on an ayu single as i dont have to listen to them

i strongly doubt whether ayu has a say in which remixer avex chooses to remix a track.

[taskin.ayu] 30th July 2005 02:00 PM

She is bound to release a raggae remix once in a while, but not too often. She has a few Raggae remixes around, but I think they were only made to fit summer possibly.

Also, CAROLS ~ Criminal Tribal Mix~ didn't seem Raggae to me at all. o_O Key (ARIWA Dub Mix) is a better example of raggae. xD

:thud oh god, if she went back to her NOTHING from NOTHING days...that would be career suicide. I would be so disappointed--it would remind me a lot of what Hikki did to herself...>,< I think Ayu should stick to her guns and stay with rock.

-Link- 30th July 2005 04:51 PM

if ayu did reggae, that would so ****ing kick ass! id so enjoy that. Reggae beats ownz

ermm NOTHING from NOTHING is rap... or call it even a bit of R&B if you like, but it's REEALLY far away from reggae xD

Wow okay. lol :)
Sorry but I disagree with whoever said ayu doesn't have time to listen to her own remixes. How in the hell are going to release a CD "Trance, single, ayumix whatever," And not know what your own songs sound like. :shakehead

jknza2664 1st August 2005 01:40 AM

reggae is really popular in Japan right now for some reason. it was probably just a wise marketing decision on the part of Avex. Though I DO remember in some interview transcript seeing Ayu say she either wanted to try reggae, or hip-hop or something... if anyone knows which one I'm talking about feel free to say so.
