Thoughts on My Story Tour 2005
First I must say, it is amazing!!!!! I watched the first disk, and I was amazed by ayumi's vocal talents and all of the dancers. I can't wait until disk 2 is done downloading!!!
Anyway here is a breif synopsis on each preformance. WONDERLAND - very cool, getting the crowd ready for the show! Kalaidoscope - also very cool, ayu makes diffrent face apperances and finally starts the show with a big blow! HAPPY ENDING - excellent! I used to not like this song but now I love it!!! Very emotional between the seperation of a man and a women... INSPIRE - WOW!!! I thought this preformance was much better the the Countdown Live 2004-2005 one. Lots of rocking beats and lots of dancers! SURREAL - very good!, I love the chorus to this song and she sang beautifully! UNITE - just like all the other UNITE preformances she has done, good! GAME - WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!! The intro into the song is one of the best I've ever seen. She serprises the whole crowd when shes shows up! I felt like I was there! I had to replay that one more then once. my name's women - Incredible! She shows those men who is boss! About You - Interesting, it is sortof hard to hear her voice but very well done. I love the part when she pulls the chains down and sets herself free. Moments - Love that big beautiful dress! And I love the hair, its looks so cool! She really outdone it this time! walking proud - it's ok. My least favorite preformance she did. Maybe because I really don't like that song.... CAROLS another story about a man and a women being seperated. Very pretty, especially with the snow coming down on her beauitful long golden hair! Cather in the Light lots of lights, lots of dancing, LOTS of fun!! HONEY - Amazing! The first and best HONEY preformance I think I'll ever see!! I want one of those dancing canes the men use!!! evolution - it ok, just like all the other evolution preformances. But I love that pink outfit shes wearing! Boys & Girls - THE BEST BOYS & GIRLS PREFORMANCE I HAVE EVER SEEN! She has everybody singing with her, even the ones who dont know the lyrics because they had them post up!! I was singing all the way. And the the beautiful water fall efects they had. It was amazing!! So there is my opinion of the first disk! How did you like it>? |
I haven't got it yet and it might take a few months? LOL.
Anyway, can you tell us about "STEP you", "Humming 4/7", "flower garden" and "Replace"? And what's on the last DVD? |
how much did it cost!! i want it too!!! it sounds soooo cool!!
|
im d/ling the first DVD on BT now...54% gonna take another 11 hours to finish T_T
yeah wats on the last DVD?? |
im still downloading disk 2 and 3.
|
I listened to the mp3's somebody ripped at Ayunite, and judging by the mp3's... It sounded pretty good. Peco & Co. really ruin songs like About You and STEP you though.
HAPPY ENDING and INSPIRE sound very good. Catcher In The Light, amazing. SURREAL sounded especially good, since IMO she usually butchers old songs. Boys & Girls, I've never heard the crowd sing along that loud. I heard her crying a lot in Replace, and About You, wow her voice is sexy.. in a strange way... In this concert she really doesn't kill the old songs, I'm impressed. |
I bought the dvd few days ago and I wanted to share with someone soo bad Now finally people are starting to download it. But I really recomand to buy the dvd. Well i have to say that it's the "BEST" ARENA TOUR that she ever had!!! It's amazing I have to give a 150 out of 100 it's really amazing. I think this concert is even more carefully planed compare to the 2003-2004 ARENA TOUR!!!! The third disc is super funny also!!!
|
I've only seen the first two performances (downloading the vobs from Jpopsuki) so I can't really comment on too much yet. However I just wanted to say that choreography for Happy Ending was absolutely stunning! Not to mention the set, the costumes, Ayu's vocals, etc. And I *really* love all the videos and scenery in the background, so much nicer than just a bland stage. So far this Arena Tour really reminds me of Concert Tour 2000. :)

It's downloading soooo slowly for me I want to murder somebody :curse
Grrr...just another 14 hours to go for the first disc. *roll eyes* I wish I could watch it while I downloaded it...oh well. Hopefully it'll be done by tomorrow morning. Poor laptop. *pat pat* :) |

i'll just wait and buy it for myself :P

I haven't finished watching it yet, but I was so inspired by the Walking Proud performance that I just had to post. :)
I knew the DVD would be great based on what I saw live, but there are several big advantages to seeing it on DVD - mainly the sound and view is much better. This has been an amazing concert up to the point I have watched. Walking Proud just totally blew me away, which I wasn't expecting. During the live show, it was probably the least memorable of the performances for me, but in this concert, she just poured so much emotion into it. Wow, those tears just looked so heartfelt. Definitely a 10/10 - MAYBE her best DVD release ever considering all the bonus features that come with it. Once I've seen the whole thing and can gather my thoughts together, I'll post a more in depth review. :) Also, all the people that are downloading - I really hope you buy it afterwards. It is definitely worth it. |
haven't seen it yet...=(
but I really think it'll be great so I gotta order one on Yesasia! :D |

By the way, I thought it was sooo cute how Ayu brought her puppy onto the stage. I haven't seen it yet, but that just looks amazing. :cool I wonder what that puppy felt :eviltongu :lech |
I've seen half of the concert now and it's amazing! I love it and I'm definitely going to buy the dvd (once I have enough money).
|
i give this concert 10/10 this is better than ARENA TOUR 2003-2004 !!! and the CDL ~
|
I already watch it and it's AMAZING O______o"! I also give 10/10! I must buy it!
|
A MUST HAVE for all Ayu fans!
I give it 10/10! |
I saw the Kaleidescope Opening, Happy Ending and the GAME opening. It's a brilliant concert, Happy Ending was amazing, and for once, her backup singers were necessary for the dramatic ending...
I want to see the INSPIRE part, it reminds me of the Moulin Rogue finale so much...O.O |
I cannot stop watching About You. Amazing. Especially when it pauses before the second instrumental and she pulls down the chains..and then the guitars just blam in. (The silence should have been a lot longer, though.)
The only complaint is some of the costumes were really bad. I mean, tacky. The guitars in Surreal were excellent. (And so was the revisted clearer version of the piano at the beginning.) |
this concert was EXCELLENT. Ayu's best, IMO, by faaaar. I might be getting a reigon free player soon and if i do i'll definitely be picking the DVD up.
|
^i'm thinking of buying one just for this concert...i REALLY want to see it.
|
well, it was most likely like all the other concerts but the water thingy and the big "wide screen" was incredible it gave different kind of perspective for the viewers XD I wonder how it would be to see it live ^^
|

Also, for those without region free players, if you have a DVD drive on your computer, you can watch the DVDs that way - you just need to download some software to make your computer region free. Also I believe that Yesasia sells region free DVD players for pretty cheap. |
Its definatly one of her most amazing concerts to date. It has amazing effects and makes you go "wow" when you watch it. O: I will definatly be getting this. :3
The main reason this concert is much more different to older ones is that her performances have a storyline to them. Like how HAPPY ENDING had a sort of Romeo and Juliet theme and how GAME had a pawns after the queen on a chess set theme. A lot of new thought and direction has gone into this concert and has given a refreshing difference to this concert. A great concert. XD (especially the water fountain thingy) XDD |
Something felt different about this concert. Something about the way it was filmed or something.. but compared to all her other concerts, it seems so different. [Like CDL04-05, AT04, AMuseum..] Dunno what it is though. :D
Awesome concert though. But I wanted her to sing HONEY and About You a lot louder.. lol :D Zeo |
i would say that i think ayu lip sync in ABOUT YOU .. coz you cannot hear the chains clashing noice .. ~~
but the concert is so COOL !!! 11/10 110% for this concert =) so much better than CDL and ARena Tour 2004 `~ |
the chains could be plastic hard, so you won't hear it much...? plus about you sounds so different it can't be.
|
her vocals in About You were kinda poor...it could not possibly be lip-synched.
|
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the chains are plastic. Also, you need to have the mic right against the thing you are recording to pick up any significant sound.
Anyways, my DVD came today so I have seen the whole thing and it is amazing, amazing, amazing. The 3rd disc is full of funny things and some sweet things too, like the poker face anniversary thing. It includes clips from every date of the tour, so you get to see all the stuff like the clip of Ayu falling, bringing her dog onstage, messing up in Walking Proud, forgetting the lines AGAIN in Trauma (they played Trauma instead of Step You for the 1st half of the tour) - then she asks the audience, "Why? Why? Why can't I remember the lyrics to Trauma? EVER!" lol |
LOL Can't she remember the lyrics to Trauma? XDD That's funny. XD
Her vocals were quite good overall, but she did sound a bit manly in About You. XDD The main problem with the vocals was in GAME. It sounded like she was singing through a piece of gladwrap. XD |
Quote:
I agree about the vocals on Game - I thought that was probably the worst part of the concert vocally. I liked the About You vocals though. She sang it with a different style and brought a different atmosphere to it. I don't think you have to sound like you do on the CD in order for it to be a good vocal performance. |
I liked her performance of About you :)
I didn't like the verses of game because of the electronic-voice, but the choruses were great. |
Quote:
I liked the About You performance, it was really powerful sounding. :yes But the bit after the bridge sounded really odd to me. ^^;; The rest was good though. :3 |
hm im stil thinking .. in MOMENTS, how did they do the screen it looks so cool the one where its like a mirror effect ...
|
ya this has gotta be in one of those best Ayu concerts ever .. finally a concert that can stand up to Stadium Tour 2002 and Arena Tour 2002 that I like so much .. now I'm watching this concert over and over again just like I did to those too .. the other concert I saw but it didn't blow me away as much as this new one !!!
|
About you wasn't poor, she sang it deeper, but it made the song sound darker.
|
Awesome Awesome Awesome concert!
The good: Prop! Stage!!! PECO!!! Boys & Girls was perfect, I was getting goosebumps when the audience responded so perfectly! The bad: The dancers annoyed the crap outta me, those wigs were so fugly! The ugly: Those damn audience members that look like they've never been more bored in their life! Did you notice the guy in the audience filming the concert? lmao |
The concert was jawdropping. :wow
I saw it, and I was like, Ayu must have been aiming to win the "BesT CONCERT EVER" award. Haha. Because honestly, that concert was the best I've ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous. And yea, some of the audience members that looked bored were SO ANNOYING. I just wanted to smack them in the face. |
Easily one of the best concerts ever!!
Every song was performed well, and i wasn't disappointed one bit!!! Walking proud was so full of emotions, that when she cried, it made me cry too ;_; all her costumes were very creative <3 i LOVE LOVE LOVE this, must get it <3 <3 |
Yeah, I hate the ones that just stand there and do nothing. :(
The audience was awesome in Boys and Girls though! I think having the lyrics on the screen helped and also just the spectacularness of the fountains pumped everyone up for it. I'd say that this is the perfect time for Ayu to retire Boys and Girls from the set list, at least for a while. You couldn't have asked for a more perfect performance for the song to go out on. |

|
I only seen two Preformamces so far and I think My Happy Ending Is By far the best act AYumi has ever done.
And she needs to stop Preforming Surreal she sounds so bad. |
Quote:
Also, going back to what was mentioned before about the chains not making noise in About You. I just rewatched the concert w/ my Mom, with the speakers blasting and you actually can hear the chains a little bit at certain parts - they still sound like they are plastic to me though. |
Yes, I heard the chains. Making them plastic instead of metal/iron allows it to be lighter and therefore easier to rip down as ayu did. (Yes, I know there was some switch at that point) But it also would have caused injury if the chains were made of metal and it fell on top of them accidently..plastic is easier.
|
the banshi screaming at the end of HAPPY ENDING ruined one of my favorite songs by Ayu.

My copy came in the mail today and I just finished watching all the dvds except half the 3rd disc...all I can say is WOW!
The opening was great! The whole MY STORY theme with the A-key and those "evil" guys in cloaks during "HAPPY ENDING" reminded me so much of Kingdom Hearts! The "INSPIRE" pre-video was odd...I was confused on why they made her ride on that weird tank looking thing xD. I liked the video before "GAME" and the one before "CAROLS" almost made me cry ;_;. Why did she have to cry during "walking proud"? ahhh~ she made me cry too! xD Peco & co.'s added vocals didn't steal the show, but they kinda got in the way...I'll try not to be biased and say they actually helped some of the songs :3. On the MC part, I laughed my ass off when they replayed ayu falling! xD How embarassing!! The 3rd disc with all the behind-the-scenes type thing was hilarious! I loved when ayu's dog barked and scared the guy...and the crew celebrating and chugging all that sake (I think it was xD) and ayu too!....ahhhh great great footage in this! For those who only downloaded this, please, this is really worth it! After viewing such a spectacular concert, I'm pleased to say I'm actually PROUD I spent $60 on the Japan version...it's so nice to know it was worth it when you're low on cash!! So for the love of ayu, BUY THIS!! |
I love most of the songs and performances in Disc 1. I like the performance for Step you, too. It's really cool!!! I'll buy the DVD without regret, and it seems like Ayu is saying "goodbye". A final goodbye to all her fans...
|
Lol! Haha, people always speculate the Ayu's going to say goodbye after the final show of the tour! It's NOT so! She's still going strong so haha, GO GO AYU!
Anyway, I LOVED the entire TOUR! EXCEPT: 1. The clothes ripping gimick - C'mon it's WAY OVERDONE 2. Encore music - They've been using that AYU READY thing for such a LONG time! Since Dome Tour 2001 if I'm not wrong ... Please, give me more of music like the interlude between walking proud and CAROLS! That was GOOD! But the AYU READY thing, BAH, it was just CRAPPY and OVERUSED! 3. Having Replace as the ending song - I know Ayu wanted to try and end the Tour on a happy note and not cry, but haha, I would still like to hear Who ...! Ok, people might have differing opinions on this? Replace was fine but haha, Who was simply better! 4. LEAVING OUT SONGS from MY STORY! - Biggest crime here! Haha, I loved HOPE or PAIN and Liar! How could they leave those out! *sobs* but at least they kept most of the songs! Cheers for keeping HAPPY ENDING! (I thought it would never make it to the tracklist) and BOOS for leaving out HOPE or PAIN, Liar and winding road! *Thumbs down* 5. Bored Audience - Excuse me, you paid so much to see Ayu and you're just standing there looking bored? Please! I would be ELATED if I ever got a chance to attend an Ayu Concert! *hammers their heads* Overall, LOVED the concert! Just voicing out some of my unhappiness and discontentment with some parts of the concert! Oh yar, and the part where she fell! That was hilarious (oops, I'm starting to sound a bit sadistic ...) but yar, it really seemed like it HURT A LOT! But I'm even more amused at the expression of the audience! You could hear the "OH!" kind of expression! And I hoped they incorporated more PROPS like they did for A Museum ... it would make the whole concert much more fun and visually entertaining! (All time best prop for me was in Dome Tour 2001's Endless Sorrow performance! I loved the disco ball!) That's all from me! |
Quote:
but personally, I really dont like it sung in each one. :no |
oh yeah i've seen the whole concert like twice, was AMAZING~ i think it's her best concert...still deciding though hehe
i dont relli like the acting in it though....especially the guys in the about you performance |
Out of curiousity:
http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4...ozat5ch.th.png Who's the guy holding her hand? Also for anyone who believes her to be a goddess of light and rainbows, it does show her drinking at the end of the extras DVD, even chugs a cup of sake with everyone. More on topic though, this is now my favorite concert of hers, A Museum was good but her vocal performance bit it the few times she did sing. This one she doesn't try to massacre old songs, she actually makes them sound nice with a much more natural voice than previously, the acting was hammy, but the costumes were wonderful as was the stage. |
I watched the first disc and it was okay I guess... what really bothered me is the About You preformance... her voice is so... arugh o_o...
|
Quote:
And I don't think anyone is suprised by showing Ayu drinking - she is 26 after all. If someone is suprised or shocked by it, I think they are very naive. |

I really LOVE this concert. I am always impressed with her Arena Tours, because they are usually visually amazing. This definately did not disappoint either. The opening was sorta creepy but cool, and Happy Ending definately has a higher rating in my books because of that preformance. Inspire = the best preformance in the whole concert, imo. I always go back to it, because the visuals are so good. Love love LOVE this preformance. Game + My Name's WOMEN were both also amazing. Too bad they didn't have the TRF girls come back to do the dancing for that too... I really liked this concert, and i was impressed that the "wtf" costumes were kept to a minimal. I hated the About You outfit, and the walking proud outfit. CAROLS was a bit wtf too, but it's ok after a while :) All in all, this was a really really good concert. <3

With the screncap I was just curious since I know the older generations in Japan don't approve much of public affection so even hand-holding was even looked down upon by some, was wondering if it was just a good acquaintance or the ever-rumored boyfriend. It was amusing though with the extra clips when she kept saying the wrong name for one of her dancers and hugged him in apology backstage. |
I just really hope it comes out on VCD, because I really want to see it!
|
all the performances were great but when i watch it again, there's just too much acting in it
Happy Ending was such a great performance except when Ayu forced herself to soak up in the end...but i believe walking proud was real About you was great performance was awesome but her 2 dancers overreacted a bit, the way they acted was just annoying~ Quote:
|
I haven't watch the whole thing but based on pics and comments, I am really certain that the visuals must be great. I downloaded the mp3 rips from the live and I gotta admit some songs are pretty poorly sung like About You, verses of Game, walking proud (which is kind of disappointing because I was really looking forward to hearing these lives), moments sounded a little weird at certain parts.
Other than that, I thought certain songs were pretty well sung like happy ending, my name's woman, humming 7/4 and step you. Oh yeah and boys and girls just sounded so fun with half the lyrics sung by fans XDDD |
Quote:
|
WIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! XDXD thatīs my thought for the arena tour 2005 My story XD the water "fountains" were really nice ^^
|
Very good!!! GAME is perfect!!!! they act a lot, but is just one day of spectacle...like a theater. Watch this concert live must be very nice experience
|
Such a great show! By far better than 03-04, but in my opinion not as good as A MUSEUM. But the performances were so spectacular. I agree that it was the best Boys & Girls ever (you could actually hear the audience really well this time) and an incredible GAME and my name's WOMEN and INSPIRE and HONEY. I really like the chains in About You, it reminded me of the PV. And I was pretty disappointed by STEP you, I expected a lot more. The fountains were so beautiful, I was totally expecting it but still went, "WOOOW" when I saw it.
The MC was fun, showing Ayu falling during the last tour. LOL! The third DVD is really funny. I thought the drinking was hilarious. And where was Shingo the keyboard guy?? He was there drinking with all of them, but he wasn't in the concert, instead was a different guy with Yu-gi-oh hair! I really like Shingo... But SUCH A GOOD SHOW!! I really wish I could have seen it live. |
Well I didnīt see the A MUSEUM thing so....
This is the best..... I mean.... the opening is the quite thing that made me download the all thing. For the firsts time i listended to Ayu with a perfect voice (the only time this happened too was on MARIA, the only song from A MUSEUM i saw) All the efects were pretty cool.... the water and stuff; But... ergh, she didnīt have to try crying so hard.... in the end... i mean. Thereīs some songs iīd like to have seen.... but... Avex didnīt listen to me... lol |
The crying at the end of Arena Tour 2005 seemed a bit fake. I'm sure she wasn't, but I mean... she's really broken down on stage (best example I can think of is at the end of Concert Tour 2000 Vol. 2). But it was still emotional. Seeing Ayu cry always makes me cry too.
Does anyone else cry when they see these concerts? Especially in Arena Tour 2005? I always feel kind of bad when I'm showing concerts to my friends and I'm crying :) |
I saw Ayu's Arena Tour a few days ago and I thought I'd post what I thought.
I finished watching Ayumi's Arena Tour 2005 a few days ago just the first disc though. I really loved the intro's to inspire, game, and carols. I loved the Intro for teh concert too, very beautiful. Her performances were really good, especially Moments. I loved when they all waved their fans on each side of Ayu and the screen porjected it going back, and it made Ayu look as if she had wings. I loved it! I can't wait to watch the second disc.
|
Quote:
|
But of course, this is one of her best performance..yet~
|
Why didn't you post it in this topic?
|
OMG~ lol In the offshots ayu wears the most.. 'O_O' clothing.. shirts that say something something 'BREASTS' lol!
And one, 'I DON'T GIVE A FU*K' O_O Then again, she's had FU*K jewelry.. xD Zeo |
Wow, I just LOVED this show! I think it's the best she has ever done.
But my favourite song, SURREAL, was so out of place and so 'simple'.. In all her performances of this song there's always sth different, but not this time. And WTF, dancers in Surreal? Ridiculous =________= |
Quote:
|
Yeah.. :o omg. In the offshot of her dancer on a ball thing.. there's a list in the background that has flower garden and Who... in the encore. :o
/me pokes everyone to watch it Zeo |
I was pretty shocked about the shirt at first, but then I thought, go Ayu! I could never wear that shirt in America and not get in trouble.
|
Quote:
|
I haven't seen it, but I must say Ayu's outfits aren't quite to my taste. I mean, they're fine, but I've seen better. Some just seem a little too 'new' like the one she wore for my name's WOMEN. *shrug* But it [the concert itself] looks all right. :)
|
where can I find those extra clips? I dl th torrent but the show enden after boys and girls...no more after that....=(
