Arular is M.I.A.'s highly anticipated debut album. The album is titled after her father's political code name used during the Tamil independence movements. After months of delays due to sample issues, "Arular" was finally released on March 22, 2005 in America to universal critical acclaim. Almost a month later, "Arular" was released in the UK with two new tracks.
A few tracks from M.I.A's next album are going to be produced by the legendary Timbaland".

I love her music. It's both intensely urban and aggressively modern. She is one of those singers that lives up to the hype and met my sky-high expectations.

i LOVE her!!! i had never heard of her until her album released her in the u.s. i was at a local indie music store and they were playing this AMAZING cd overhead and i went to the counter and asked who it was...it was m.i.a. and i bought the cd on the spot. she's great!!!

She's pretty cool. Arular was quite nice. I heard the 2004 bootleg album she released was even better, but I haven't heard it yet. I must say though, I don't really get the hype.

i hate the hype...its like...i want her all to myself, but now she is getting popular. haha!

she just played in a festival here in brazil. i watched her show in the tv and she did an amazing job !! i love her song "10 dollar".

How could I have missed this. (*.*) All it took was one video on MTV TRL and a full news splash on the Newspaper and now I just pre-ordered Arular from a nearby shop. I love Galang! Bpulse, upload! 1 or 2 tracks would be nice! Err.. i know her dad died in some war or fight, but what made him killed? Was it intentional? :tired

Er.. I noticed. M.I.A's lyrics are really cool, but the subjects are all unorthodox stuff I think. The P.L.O, Suicide Bombers, and the way she tackles these issues are weird and violent. And her songs are irresistable. And very sing-along. And we sing those songs. Maybe thats her target? I think conspiracy looms.. :tired

Uhm, eff the eff eff AMAZING. I saw her live.. met her twice.. got her autograph.. on my shirt I bought at the show, and on a fan thingy. Saw her perform an acoustic set at virgin before the actual concert, thats where I got my first autograph. Then, after the show ..WHICH WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVERRRR. I wanted to jus' freeze that moment FOREVER. omggg, her DJ is amazing.. the mixes were amazing.. I can't remember what songs exactly, cause I was SO entranceddd. But, she did one song to the beat of Goodies by Ciara, and another one to the beat of Roll Out by Ludacris.. and she ended with URAQT, grabbing a bunch of girls from the audience to dance with her. IT WAS SOO AWESOMEEEE. I bought a shirt, which is SO ADORABLE. And then, we waited outside by her van ..for like an hourish. And, she came out ..and I got another autograph on my shirt, and a picture with herrr (which, I STILL DONT HAVE. Cause, my friends' friend that I went to the show with took it.. and I havent seen herr.. grrr...) And, shes jus' OMGGGG. OMGGG. OMGGGG. AMAZINGGGGGGGG. I still havent heard the bootleg album yet, but.. I'm gonna find itt. I effing love herrr. I would turn straight for her ...omg. I JUS' WANNA BE HER STYLIST. OR ..KNOW HER. ..be able to call her up on the phone "Holler, maya ..whatcha doin' tonight?.." OMG.

Does anyone here have the video for Galang or any of her works? I can stream it but its really poor quality.. Plus they played Galang on MTV once this month and once in Channel V... I can't find the video anywhere.. >.<
