What kind of contest would you enter? Take 3
I'm opening the third version of this poll to get some up-to-date feedback as we plan the AHS contests for the next few months.
This is a multiple choice poll. Please choose all the options you are interested in doing. Please do not vote for contest options you would not be able to participate in. For example, do not pick Karaoke if you don't have a microphone. Looking forward to your suggestions and feedback. Thanks in advance for voting. |
I'm also interested in the idea of creating fake/silly news that can convince others. It is also fun.

I am glad that a programming option was included. I'm studying game design, so it'd be right up my alley.
(Though I would imagine it would be a relatively simple C++ based program that would run in a basic DOS interface.) |

I'd be interested in an essay contest. I've had REALLY bad luck getting entries in on time for the others, but I could do an essay pretty fast. I think maybe the staff should give us 3 or 4 topic choices like they do in essay assignments for school. :) So maybe an essay contest can go next after the graphic design challenges?

Essay is good but not for people who hasn't english as a native language. :(

You can still write a compelling argument if English isn't your first language, i think. I've seen people with imperfect english argue points and make speculations very well. Most of the mods and members here can tell what you're saying even if your english isn't very good; since we all like a foreign singer, we've been exposed to people with imperfect english for a very long time and can understand them very well now, at least most of the time.
Plus, most of the contests are unfair to SOMEONE. Some of us don't have a good ear and can't remix, or don't have the right equipment or software. Some of us are TERRIBLE graphic designers, or can't figure out how to use paint shop pro very well, or can't afford photoshop; some of us have no camera so can't take photographs. Not everyone can enter all the contests. But i do think you can write an essay with good ideas in it even if you can't speak english well. |

hmmm, I think perhaps there should be one to design the front page of ahs
(ahsforum.com) Because it's old... and all the information is null now :) That photograph/advertising was a good idea... I think people will get it better now, it was kinda difficult to imagine at first perhaps an essay about how ayu's music has inspired you? although that would be mushy and gooey :) and maybe something similar to 'The Bet of Ayu's works" Perhaps you can put a LIVE twist on it... have certain lives and see which one wins (with the bracket system) ... or maybe even the best Number Ayu has done in all her concerts... (with the brackets) And maybe even another Karaoke! That could be fun :yes and everyone lives graphic image contests |

I'd do fanfiction, manga, and video. I already make music videos, and I write fanfiction. I could use some brushing up on my manga skills, but yea, I'd do those.

EDIT: scratch that. An AHS official symbol would be the best contest ever. Not the one with the button beside the link that we had previously, but an actual SYMBOL, that we could put on T-shirts. It'd be a fun contest, generate money (I'm betting a lot of people would want to wear it) and gives us sort of an identity. That and obviously the overwhelming majority of people want a design contest. This is perfect. |

How about a lyrics-writing contest? I know people around here are writing SEL anyway so it could be fun.
A Java programming contest...I so totally would go for that :lech But looks like not many people voted for that. Arts and singing contests are always fun because there are just so many contestants. It's always interesting to see all the different entries! |

Video Because I think it's funny but I'm about as amateurish as you can get. Photo I love photographing, but the same goes for this one as the above. Essay I love writing :D. Art/Gfx I love working in photoshop, if I have some motivation it can sometimes turn out pretty good, I think. |

Karaoke. Graphic design is a bit getting old.
Perhaps Games. Less participants, but it doesn't really matter. I mean if there's tons of game submission, it would be pretty much bias coz some members may have no time to play them all. |
