I read this in am730 newspaper today (Nov 25). Article is in chinese cause newspaper is from HK.

It said Ayu's new dark hair look was supposed to represent a new beginning for her. It also said that Ayu was spotted partying with friends without Tomoya (is that his name? I can't remember).

I'm not sure which magazine it is because the name written is in chinese and I dunno if it's a chinese name for a japanese mag.

I wonder if it's true...

And after reading that article again, all I can say is that's only a belief. Just because a reporter "sees" a celebrity not hanging out with their gf/bf doesn't mean they've broken. And I also think that because of the newspaper repeatingly say that they two of them have broken up, it's becoming less and less believable. Either way, news article are worthless without proof, especially true when it comes to celebrity news.

As for now, I would say this is rumor and not news. Although her going to the Mr. and Mrs. Smith thing alone makes me wonder. As far as I know, she wasn't there for any work related reason, so it does seem a bit odd to me that she would be alone.

I agree, just because they didn't go out together doesn't mean they have split up - lots of couples don't do everything together, some have separate friends. I love the way tabloid writers think: "they're not out together, they must have split!", "she's playing a pregnant woman in a film, but look at the size of her, she must really be pregnant!" Yeah, what I meant is that in this day and age it is very odd for a celebrity couple to not really be seen together - it is refreshing. I'm not fluent in Japanese, but the gist of the news segment from what I can gather is that Ayu was spotted in NYC with another man and they bought a ring together - something along those lines(their animation of the other guy as a gaijin rapper is kind of funny^_^). Anyone that can give a more detailed translation would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about the validity of this or not but it is the first time that I can remember a break up rumor for them being reported on TV.

Indeed but it would be better if they broke up if they were not happy. However I've read about that article from Jpopmusic and it sounded phony. They were saying how she told the public about it Music Station in front of Tomoya. So I do not know if it is true or false. Plus it's odd that the news sections aren't full of this "scandal".

i saw Tomoya's face at Music Station and he still looks very happy :yes he wasnt forcing a smile, well that doesnt prove if they've broken up or not

That thing about Ayumi talking about it on Music Station is indeed a lie, I watched that episode and she said nothing of the sort. She talked about NY but it was all related to her music.

Also, if anyone catches this post, Ayumi DID buy a diamond EARRINGS. She talked about it in the newest Vivi article. Let me go read it again, I think she said it was one of the staff members earrings. THIS might be the so-called "engagement ring" outing the news is talking about. But if it wasn't a staff members' earring, I imagine she would still need someone to tell her about the various NY stores she should shop at (also, she prolly travels with a bodyguard).

Watched the clip: they said that on Ayu's bday, she and Tomoya were very love-love and the cake was reminiscent of a wedding cake. The female host wonders which piece of news is true (the breakup or the happy relationship)
