'criminal' romaji and translation

I'm tired after translating three songs in a day. Good night.
----------------------------------------
Kimi no chinmoku ga nagaku tsuzuke ba tsuzuku hodo ni
Koe ni naranai sakebi ga kikoeru you de
Mune ga harisake sou

Doushite konna ni watashi wa hidoku muryoku de oroka de
Tsunaida hazu no te sae mo mamoru koto ga dekinai

Nee itsuka yurushite hoshii to wa iwanai
Sou kimi ga ima hitori tatakau no nara
Sore koso ga watashi e no aizu tashikana

Tsuyoku aritai to negau amari ni kimi wa namida to
Tomo ni nanika o kakushita watashi dake no tame ni

* Nee itsuka tadoritsuku darou ano basho e
Sou kimi ni tobikiri no keshiki misetai
Sore koso ga ashita e no aizu mirai e

* (repeat)
----------------------------------------
As your silence continues longer
I feel as if I heard your voiceless cry
And my heart would break

Why am I so powerless and stupid?
I can't even protect the hand I surely held

I don't ask you to forgive me some day
If you are fighting alone now
That's the definite sign for me

You wished to be strong so much
That you hid something with tears just for me

* You see? We will get to that place some day
I want to show you a superb view
That's the sign for tomorrow, our future

* (repeat)

sign for what? why's it so sad? i'm not quite getting what ayu means, lol. :tipsy

Sylphiel 28th December 2005 02:20 AM

Also, a suggestion... I am pretty sure that "superfine" is not a word, and it sounds awkward.

love_destiny_J 28th December 2005 03:38 AM

thanks for the translation, masa. really lyk the lyrics.

Yarumi 28th December 2005 03:59 AM

wow such nice lyrics...

thanks for all your hard work masa... get a good nighte sleep... we all appreciate your kindness!

Yeah I think Ayu means she is the criminal for letting someone dear down... it is a sad song... before I saw the lyrics I know it was sad because of the infliction in Ayu's voice... this song is so wonderful!:love

What she's getting at is that if her lover is 'fighting' by himself, he no longer needs her, which means she's become more or less pointless :\

truehappiness 28th December 2005 05:36 AM

Yeah.. the CD DATA thingie said that Ayu meant for this song to be about being a criminal to yourself, rather than a criminal that steals little elephant toys <3 lol

Peachilicious 28th December 2005 05:45 AM

Thank you so much for the translation! :D

Although I agree with Sylphiel that "superfine" sounds very awkward. Perhaps "extraordinary" would be a better translation of "tobikiri"? :)

DDR ninja 28th December 2005 06:02 AM

Thank you masa!!! :D

fεяnαndδ 28th December 2005 06:29 AM

masa 28th December 2005 03:31 PM

You are welcome.

>I am pretty sure that "superfine" is not a word, and it sounds awkward.

Really? Though this word is in my dictionary.
So I change it to "superb". (I editted my first post.)

masa 28th December 2005 03:52 PM

Again, I changed the ninth line as this and editted my first post.
You wished to be so strong --> You wished to be strong so much

kyomiayu 28th December 2005 04:11 PM

Thanks for the translation!

lotusoka 28th December 2005 04:41 PM

Thanks masa! :D I like the lyrics... but I'd like them more if I understood the context.

Sylphiel 28th December 2005 10:47 PM

Superb is much better. :yes

Baernash 29th December 2005 02:40 PM

This is another song I could say lyrics r my fave - I like the song in all because it sounds awesome, however lyrics r always very important for me.

superfine is a word, and would probably be fine to use here. I think it has a bit of a sarcastic connotation when used about people though.

Neo Daydream 30th December 2005 04:29 AM

thank you so much! the award you received was/is VERY well deserved! ^^

masa 14th January 2006 07:16 AM

I changed the first line and editted my first post.

As your silence remains longer --> As your silence continues longer

AyuRlz 16th January 2006 04:40 AM

the title does not really fit into the picture... but thanks masa~

skydiver4lyfe 16th January 2006 05:50 AM

thankz vry vry vry muchie!~

Iraka 16th January 2006 08:50 AM

Wow. Thanks. The meaning's so deep...and so sad... Makes me just wanna cuddle and comfort Ayu-chan...

Still, with that last stanza, she still hasn't lost hope, has she? Despite the sorrowful tone of the song, she still remains optimistic about the future.

HanabiChick 17th January 2006 05:15 PM

Thanks so much for the translation, it's such a sad song.

sexysaucestar 17th January 2006 10:30 PM

Thank you very much for the translation. The song makes me want to cry. =(
