ayu piling on the pounds
 

Who here thinks Ayu has been putting on weight since last mid year ? i mean take a look yourselves...her recent lives / tv shows never show her in anymore sexy outfits, whereas all we see now is Ayu in horrible looking dresses, to hide her the fact that she's putting on weight. do any of u guys notice ? I mean i'm still a great fan of Ayu, i always loved her songs but some things just can't get by unnoticed.

Who cares? Honestly.

she's really pretty in that signature of yours though, pickle cookies. I wish Ayu remains like that till she's 40

Honestly, I haven't even paid attention. And if she is "putting on the pounds" then I'd say it's probably a good thing...she always looks so tiny. And if she is, she'll probably lose that weight come Arena Tour time when she has to do so much moving around on stage.

Not everyone can have a perfect body anyway.

cuz she's pigging out at leonard's jrs!! it's a malasada (sugary donut) place. it's "bold and delicious". lol. but who really cares? all her dance practice and stuff will get her back to her former self. besides, she still looks pretty skinny. may be because she also worked harder than the previous two years, so she's not used to it anymore. so she has less sleep, which in turn makes you hungry, which in turn makes you eat more.

I think she should gain a few pound, to be honest.

And if she does, go Ayu for not conforming to societal ideals.

as long as her 'fatness' isn't affecting her singing.

She's not putting on weight. If you haven't already, I suggest you look at her pictures from "on my way" so you can see just how skinny she is. Extra weight would do her good.

I actually think shes underweight, she's what, 5'0 and 88 pounds...Who wants to check BMI!!! :rolleyes How much weight could she seriously put on...shes tiny...besides she is getting older, she doesn't have to wear skanky outfits if she doesn't want to...

Honestly, skanky outfits would just create rumors and bad press x.x

I mean look at Utada, she's still very attractive even if she gained some weight. I like that she's at a normal weight (Not heavy though) and not super skinny like a lot of singers.

Though, look at her hair.
That is obviously BEFORE her dark hair - which is more recent.
Still, she's skinnier than me, so Yeah.
If she starts to weigh more than me, i'll start to get worried...
But as of now i don't care.

EDIT: as BanFan said, Utada is about normal size, ayu is supermodel skinny-size, so if she gains a bit, it won't be a biggy.

ayu's BMI is 17 which is pretty low.. considering 20-25 is considered healthy..

i think ayu's weight is about right considering she's smaller than many people..and bmi is hard to access on asians because we are generally smaller than caucasions.. we may be considered underweight using bmi but are actually healthy weight for most asians..

i myself am underweight (even for asian) not because of choice (yes believe me when i say that!!) i'm the same weight as ayu but i'm taller ..so not good .. i find it hard to keep weight on and i've been underweight since birth so i don't see any major problems with it..

of course if ayu puts some weight on it will look alright on her.. just not too much..i always thought she had a good proportion/weight thing going there :D

I hadn't noticed anything, she looks much the same to me. She could be wearing those dresses because she likes them, or it's the new style. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Don't Care bout that..coz i know she'll be dropping it like crazy when the Arena Tour goes on..Just like last year..she did gain a bit before AT 2005 but after that..she came back in her sexy fit again..aww..lucky her coz its soo fun for her to lose pounds..heehee..

first, I don't think she's "piling on the pounds", and second, just because she's wearing big outfits it doesn't mean she's trying to hide something, I mean, those outfits appeared along with B&D/Pride, which means it's something she decided to wear, not something she felt the need to.

I don't think she's put on weight, but I don't see why she should put on weight either. People in Japan are weighting less in general, and the BMI is developped by westerners, using western people as standards (at least it makes most sense). BMI is not an inaccurate tool either. ;)

I think the reason why Ayu is wearing more covering clothes is that she's following winter fashion. and obviously winter fashion is less releaveling or sexy than summer fashion ...

anyways , I don't personally think Ayu looks too thin in On My Way / Off My Way photoshoots. sure she's very thin but she doesn't look sickly skinny to me.

-_- There is nothing wrong with gaining weight, especially for someone like Ayu...."piling on pounds" may be a bit of an exaggeration....but hey, if Ayu gains a few pounds to fill out, that's fine.

And about the BMI....it is not accurate [IMHO]. I remember when I was younger I would "check" my BMI and I'd get so depressed because the thing would say I was overly obese....but you see, BMI does not take in account your bone mass...which could be heavier than most people. Anyway, like someone else said above, BMI is measured for Westerners...not for Asians [I am Asian..].

And...eh...no comment on the star bashing; I like all the singers mentioned and it was quite uncalled for to bash anybody....

I know the BMI is basically a load of bull, according to the BMI I'm 'overweight' but according to doctors (I've asked 3 different ones) for my height and my bone mass I'm actually at a very healthy weight.

I just posted the BMI for the heck of it because someone had said something along the lines of "now who wants to check her BMI" ..*shrugs* it was just for the heck of it..

Because she actually looks super healthy!! I really like her figure right now! And from the photo books she seems to be eating everything so that's always great news!!!

She's just happy. Let her eat, I was getting a little worried about her anyway. At least she's not looking like Mary Kate Olsen or Star Jones before the surgery. On top of that, she looked like she was gaining weight during the MY STORY tour to me, but during the release season, she loses it fast. So don't worry about it too much. It's not like she's got a beer belly now.

Honestly speaking I think she's put on a few pounds lately. But I like it much better now though, she looks very healthy and happy these days. Not as overworked as in previous years.

The dark hair is extensions. It's not her real hair. The light, short color is what her hair looks like now when she is not wearing the big curly or straight wigs.

Some of you people must be on crack. That's the only response I can think of to this whole discussion of her "piling on pounds".

^Hey, I never said I was trying to avoid one. The entire notion of Ayu "piling on pounds" is utterly ridiculous and I challenge anyone to actually prove it to be so. The clothes she wears are not proof of significant weight gain. If you can't offer proof, then in my opinion, you must be abusing some kind of substance that alters your perception of reality. Either that or you find skeletons sexy and think everyone else should feel the same, in which case you deserve to be slapped.

I don't know much about BMI, but I don't think it takes into account muscle mass, does it? and since muscle is heavier then fat...

Anyway i'm also quite skinny, but because of my metabolism. I have stick arms, literally the exact same size as the one on my way pic posted earlier. Maybe skinnier. So I can say that she's fine, she doesn't need to gain weight, she doesn't need to lose weight. Although I think she needs to work out a little more though, she doesn't have a lot of muscle.

So you want to get into it with someone? Why bother we both know she is fine so what's the point? You and this person is just going to make matters worst.

i dont think that just because she isnt flauting around as much anymore (we have koda kumi for that now) that it means she's gained weight.

i think the things she wears now are stylish, just because they dont show alot of skin, doesnt mean she's FAT

Body Mass Index. it calculates your whether you are overweight, by putting your weight and height in relation. this is actually quite inaccurate imo.

Yeah, BMI doesn't take in account muscle mass/bone mass/et. al....the only thing it takes into account is height and weight.

Please keep these points in mind next time and try to hold back what you say, then threads won't have to be closed.
