18 Weeks NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP

I have this question since the (July)1st day I watched Startin' PV and it's about the scene where the two Boys(& Girls XD) are in the video club and the black guy goes to the front desk and on the Will (sorry, wall) behind him there is a label that says:

18 Weeks
Never Gonna Give You up

Check in these Screencaps how this can be seen...

I was WONDERLAND, i mean wondering... was Ayu trying to give us a hint of her next release?
...is this (LOVE)A NEW SINGLE? hehehehe...

I know there's A song (is born) called exactly like this from Paula Abdul, Rick Astley and some other artists but since it's an Ayu PV maybe this was MORE THAN just a name... maybe it's a SIGNAL (ok I have to stop using ayu's songs as vocabulary...)

What do you think?
I guess I AM... just crazy (d'oh!)

This was just a joke... I don't usually do it.. but it seems to be bothering (for you).

I am sorry to have offended anyone with this little joke.

ImpactBreaker 24th February 2006 12:18 AM

Is she referring to Mai Kuraki's NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP? Maybe it stayed up in the charts for 18 weeks? LOL

*+Dark.Night.Angel.+* 24th February 2006 12:37 AM

Most probably...

Hehehe... how delusional I was!!

Gracias! Siempre habrá gente a quien no le agraden los demás... pero son gente.

And ok.. the question is, after having seen the screencaps from Startin' PV, you can see in the wall the label that says "18 Weeks Never Gonna Let You Down" and I had the thought that maybe this was some kind of signal from Ayu telling us of her next release...

The question was about what you thought on this...

Many have already stated that it's probably nothing or the most reasonable about Mai Kuraki's single which could have probably on the charts for 18 weeks... who knows in the end?

Anyway, anyone can give your opinion

Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" was on the UK Top 100 Chart for 18 weeks (5 weeks at #1).

It was painful but quite punful as well. Hhahahaha.

Perhaps it was referring to Rick Astley, like nmskalmn said.

nmskalmn 25th February 2006 04:28 PM

I don't really think it was a Rick Astley reference. I searched for the phrases online because I thought it might be related to a business slogan, or something like that. When I saw the Rick Astley stats I thought it was a funny coincidence.

your pun is painfully painful as well. :P

Chibi_Venus 25th February 2006 06:04 PM

Never noticed that. lol Only until you mentioned it. :P

*+Dark.Night.Angel.+* 27th February 2006 07:24 PM

huhuhuhu..

I guess this won't be anything but a simple name attached to the wall, but I don't discard the whole possibility of it...

After all, 18 weeks after the release of the video would be a nice date to release something new... but it's true, it wouldn't be such a good name to an Ayu song... she's never had that kind od long names to a song...

Oh..okay, no Rick Astley reference after all? ^^; Well, I guess maybe it was just random wall stuff...we'll see what happens. ;)

ohsixthirty 28th February 2006 07:00 PM

who the heck is rick astley anyhow?

18 weeks is 4 and 1/2 months...maybe something happens in 4 and 1/2 months...?

like she's retiring.

or she's giving birth.

or she's getting married.

or she's revealing that she's really an extraterrestrial.

:shrug

Alien Ayu Space Army = Dancing Cyborgs from the year 2503 in the Real Me PV.

Ayumi no Yume 2nd March 2006 05:05 AM

Maybe she means even if her songs suck lately she'll keep singing till she gets our attention back? :shrug

cybermoomba 2nd March 2006 05:20 AM

It's probably nothing.
