Actually, I have their album. I'm not sure why. I used to like them. Not sure why, once again. Maybe it was because the female singer name was slighty like mine... Hers is Lena. Mine is Leena... Whatever. I was young. LOL.

You brought back memories o_o That Barbie song was just nuts.. :laugh

Zeke. 6th April 2006 03:13 AM

I love Aqua! I like both of their albums. They still play Barbie Girl at our high school dances because I request it all the time! It is like the only good dance/techno song they will play and actually have. All they play is rap/hip-hop/r&b ***** and I just can't stand to listen to or dance to that stuff. Prom is coming up and I'll have to request it again, along with Everytime We Touch by Cascada since that song recently got really popular here in America and I am so happy that it did. I have loved that song for a while!

Anyways, TOY-BOX is alot like Aqua and are really good. My friend Jenny and I love them and I burn alot of their songs for her and she just can't get enough. Superman, The Sailor Song, Best Friend, Tarzan and Jane, Superstar...

LOL

I must admit that I still love Aqua and TOY-BOX!

spookshow 6th April 2006 08:24 AM

aww I love Aqua too!! hehe the memories -- they were my favourite band when I was younger, along with the Spice Girls, Savage Garden and Ricky Martin... hahahaha

Alessia_Tateno 6th April 2006 08:51 AM

I thought they were relatively amusing, but I understand why some people would find them annoying.

ohsixthirty 7th April 2006 10:18 PM

^aqua? annoying? i can't imagine why. :lech

Tasked 7th April 2006 11:40 PM

I appreciate nearly all music, and this aswell.. I think such happy melodies can be so fun, and aqua is definitely one of the bests in that. I personally love Dr. Jones and Heat of the Night

I haven't heard anything about them in a long time! I should buy their CD. One of my favorite songs was Candyman.

I love Aqua! After seeing this thread, I re-listened to some of their songs...it brought back lots of good times and good memories. ^_^

shippo 1st July 2006 04:35 AM

Love em so muccchh..

Turn back time is my fave until now!!!

Nevada 1st July 2006 06:00 AM

I just see them as a one hit wonder, unfortunately~.

evolusean 1st July 2006 06:02 AM

SO weird that this thread pops up. I just found my old Aqua CDs today, and I was listening to them. Brings me way back.

They were strange, but talented in their own way. Their lyrics were SO theme-y, but their music and arrangement were always way cool. Fun beats, but stupid lyrics, really.

Good times. Loves it.

They weren't a one hit wonder, they had, I think, three successful albums and plenty of hit songs... they were pop in fact, but not one hit wonder.

they were a one hit wonder in the US. in Europe they had several more hit songs & few succesful albums more than just 'Barbie Girl'.

xiaou-xijiang 1st July 2006 03:31 PM

Wow, Aqua was interesting. I used to love them so much...(I gotta go listen to my old CDs now)

alt.total-loser 1st July 2006 04:07 PM

Oh, geez. When I was really little my older sister was in LOVE with Aqua. She played their songs all the time. I rather like them, too, even though I haven't heard them in a while. I still have most of Barbie Girl memorized. xD

Weslicious 5th November 2007 09:49 PM

OMFG, there's a re-unite rumour. Apparantly there's a 25 date tour next Summer and a Greatest hit's featuring song's they worked on for the third album before the split, different arrangements to their older hit's and new as well as the old Video's.

austin. ♥ 5th November 2007 09:53 PM

Orly?

~ayu-cake~ 5th November 2007 09:53 PM

I was like

'WHAAAT?!'

They released 2 as Aqua, and were working on a third before the split. They actually performed some of the new songs on their final tour in the early 2000's.

Yep, two original albums and a (good) remix album. I think they also had two editions of the remix album???

Yeah, almost the entire ensemble of songs on Aquarium were "hits", it's almost like a best album. Except calling you, boys and girls, in the heat of the night and goodmorning sunshine, most songs got PVs no?

Yep, I think it's confirmed too..

Good Morning Sunshine did get a PV of sorts. It was an edit of a few live performances.

Austin, they had 7 UK single's and 12 single's overall Worldwide, 11 Music Video's, and before Aqua they were signed to a different label under a different name. The fact they had most of the 3rd album done before their split make's for a very promising compilation and tour.

Japan got a 'Greatest Hit's' and Video DVD in 2000/2002

ayumisrael 5th November 2007 11:54 PM

I was an Aqua fan XDDD
Will they really do a comeback? x_x

spookshow 6th November 2007 01:01 AM

^ i heard mentions of a comeback a month or two ago at this aqua fansite they mention that Aqua held a press conference confirming that they are going to re-unite. From what i read,it looks like they're just going to be doing concerts, not releasing new albums

extepan 6th November 2007 01:49 AM

the reunite rumour has been around for years. it never realised.

milky_way 6th November 2007 02:18 AM

Yay, article.

zoomzoom 6th November 2007 08:25 AM

It's fully confirmed and everything. They even had interviews about it.

http://politiken.dk/kultur/article406641.ece

According to that article, they're coming back because they wanna have fun, even though they said many times they would never come back. But they just "felt like it".

They explained that they had gotten tired of each other and all they needed was a break. In the mean time, Lene and Søren got married and the group started to spend more and more time together - so it came natural.

The group says that they do not want to release a full third album, but maybe a greatest hits with new tracks. They feel like they want to focus on being a tour band and return to the stage.

Vinylfantasy 6th November 2007 08:28 AM

Im a very huge fan of that group since I was in grade 2 or 4.
They're so hugely popular before, but they suddenly disappeared.

Does anyone knows their latest work?

As far as I can remember, they released Cartoon Heroes which is their "last" release from 2000.

After Cartoon Heroes they released 3 more singles: Around the World, Bumble Bees and We Belong To The Sea (I dunno if they were released worldwide, and the order is probably wrong also lol)
And I heard the reunion was just for a tour and Greatest Hits also.. Let's wait!
