浜崎あゆみソロ史上初！シングル２０００万枚突破
歌手、浜崎あゆみ（２７）が２１日に発売した通算４０枚目のシングル「ＢＬＵＥ　ＢＩＲＤ」が発売１週目で １６．１万枚のセールスを記録、ソロアーティストとしては史上初のシングル総売り上げ２０００万枚突破の快 挙を成し遂げた。

これまでシングルで総売り上げ２０００万枚突破を果たしたのは、Ｂ’ｚ、サザンオールスターズ、Ｍｒ．Ｃｈ ｉｌｄｒｅｎ、ＳＭＡＰの４組のみで、女性アーティストとしても初の快挙。

また、今作で浜崎のシングル首位は、平成１４年の「Ｆｒｅｅ＆Ｅａｓｙ」から１５作連続、通算２７作目とな り、自身の持つ女性アーティストのシングル首位獲得数記録も更新した。

Heroic deed that is only four pairs (z, Southern All Stars, Mr.Children, and B 'SMAP) single it up to now accomplishments of total 20 million sales breakthrough more first as female artist.

Moreover, Hamasaki's single head position became totaling 27 work eyes, and updated own female artist's single head position acquisition number record from "Free&Easy" in 2002 by 15 continuous works in the work now.

What I don't understand is that how come (miss)understood sold so low when it had two photo albums, while BLUE BIRD had only a poster and sold really well. Isn't a photo album much better than a poster?

Because Bluebird had really heavy promotion and it wasnt it wasnt composed by Geo!

And because Blue Bird's cover is MUCH more appealing. I really think the cover is the main reason for the increase in sales. Even though I wish there were more differentiation between the 3 types of covers, the original cover itself is very eye catching.

Ayu wanna make some changes in her music style, but B&D/S&B dont seem to be doing well, and for this single, Ayu plays the safe card~~D.A.I. writes the Blue Bird, which has the music style that people are familiar with, and The Heaven single sold well, coz that song is still kind of safe...if you know what i mean.

BUT still, Ayu is trying, so she chooses the BF...BF is great, but it doesnt seem to be the main direction that ayu's mucic goes,,,so just keep trying, Ayu,we support you and love you!

Well... fairyland like sales would still be very very good considering the (lack of) success of the past 2 singles... But this first week debut is already a good omen.

you know it's actually really weird that when a single like Bold&Delicious/Pride doesn't sell that much, but it still manages to be a #1-hit; people find the single weak. Thousands of artists would kill to get a #1-single; let alone 27!...

Anyway... Yeah Ayu has to work alot harder to get 300k now.. BLUE BIRD proved it.. In 2001, a single like this might get 1mil... It's amazing Ayu can still reign with her #1-streak... Congrats to Ayu, congrats to Avex, congrats to BLUE BIRD :)

Uhhhh no. Jay Chou's album (forgot which one) sold 3 million across Asia, and Jolin's recent album broke 2 million. But the individual markets like HK, Singapore and Korea have low sales. (but then again, you have to take in account their size of population)

But I think Ayu is at least top 2 in the "best selling female solo artist in Asia" category. The only singer I think can rival her is Faye Wong.

And yeah, Hikki's "Frist Love" is the best selling album in Asia.

^And Faye Wong doesn't really release stuff anymore. So I guess that makes her the "best selling female solo artist in Asia" for now. Whew, what a long title to have.

And the first week sales for BLUE BIRD look pretty impressive, it's almost back to 2005 standards already. Maybe things are starting to look up from now on...

Now we have to hope that the dreaded second week nosedive doesn't happen again.

Yup, plus Korea market used to be pretty big a few years ago. Not as big as Japan, of course, but big acts could sell over 500k easily....

Ayumi dropped to #5 today and as I expected the Nana singles really didn't make a huge splash. I'm just upset that Anna's Rose sold better than Olivia's A Little Pain. :irked

First day sales are usually good for most people yo. XD

Ayu's rise back up sooner or later. I am disappointed as well. a little pain is so good!
