Did you guys noticed in Music Station?!
 

In the Music Station talk (06.06.23) when Ayu is introduced some guy goes Arigato Gozaimasu and then Ayu looks around briefly thinking (Who the heck was that?) and then says "Arigato Gozaimasu". It was one of the members of TOKIO (the guy next to Tomoya Nagase) and he and Nagase were laughing! Did he do it on purpose to make fun of her?

It's when Ayu is introduced. The file is kinda blurry, but Ayu looked confused like 'Who was that?'. Even though it was a joke, it still was kinda mean. It's like in 0:04-0:08

Yea, I was a little scared too, to tell the truth...lol. Maybe she and Tomoya are still together and take the professional thing REALLY seriously. That'd explain her "crap, I hope you didn't blow our cover!! you know better than that, cool it!" look (my interpretation).

Well, I kinda have the feeling they're not together anymore. Hence the TOKIO guy (not Tomoya) pulling pranks at her and her not really acting in any special way when he's around.

If they were still together, I'm sure she would turn around to look at him at least once and they'd exchange smiles.

Besides, when was the last time they were seen together?... That photo with the car in the background, from a Chinese tabloid? That was quite some time ago, wasn't it?........ and nothing since then...

coz tomaya maybe one of the most handsome guys among japanese artists
and he loves music and writes songs himself
he and Ayu must have a lot in common
and besides rommance, they can talk about music

They were seen together in a picture in 2004, when Ayu was filming "INSPIRE." Then in late 2005, when B&D was filmed people were gossiping that Ayu was cheating on Tomoya with "Tim." :rolleyes (If they are still talking about Ayu "cheating" then they're probably together.)

Also recently a celebrity gossip magazine interviewed Tomoya's parents and they said they think they're still together.

Yes, and it was also in "MY STORY" that she wrote thanks to her honey (= Nagase) in the booklet. And she wrote the same in the booklet of "(miss)understood", right? (I can't remember well and am too lazy to look it up. :P)

So I think we can assume that they are still a couple. For several reason...

1) The MUSIC STATION incident:

I don't know how the "arigatô gozaimasu" should be classified. If it was a mean joke or something else. Only they know. I just don't understand why they should look at each other during the broadcast. Being there is part of their job. (Even if it doesn't sound romantic.) Maybe it would distract/bother the other guests if they'd hang on one another. And I read once that it's not so common to show love-y feelings in public in Nihon. So maybe this could be another reason?

2) Her songs:

According to masa-san "CAROLS" talks about the re-start of their relationship. (I guess... :think) How their relationship came to a next level. Became more serious. I think the following part portrays it well:

The days we couldn't understand each other and parted
The days of tears, the days of smiling faces
Whatever may happen and
Whatever mood you may be in
I'll always accept you

Since then she hasn't written a song that I'd classify as an end-of-the-relationship-song. Maybe "is this LOVE?" could be seen as one, but it rather describes a triangle (watashi-anata-kanojo) and if it would reflect her experiences with Nagase I think she'd handle them differently. Especially since the relationship came into the level of being a relation not just for the near future, but also for the far. And ayu doesn't seem to get as emotinal while performing "is this LOVE?" than "HANABI", for example.

3) Her comment from the past:

I rather vaguely remember that at the time when rumours about the end of the relation between ayu and Nagase started to spread widely, she wrote a comment by herself that she'd tell her fans if it would happen. So... (I'm not too sure about it, though.)

I remember that as well. I'm pretty sure she'd tell her fans before the media got ahold of the story, since she is so close to her fans.

japanese artists seem to be pretty good in having a totally secretive relationship..

And her writing "to my honey" in her CD booklets doesn't prove she is still with Nagase. That "honey" could be anyone.

"HONEY" was written about Nagase, so it would be natural to think that the "to my honey" in the booklet of "MY STORY" refers to him. But what about the booklet of "(miss)understood"? I actually don't think that she'd refer to someone else by the same words. Especially since she wrote a song with that title.
I mean, imagine one calls his or her long-time love "star". Would he or she call their next love "star" aswell? I highly doubt so (though it's possible, of course). Because for the person it's not just a word or a nickname, but it includes experiences, memories etc.

ayu wrote thanks to her friend Natsuki from "A Song for XX" to "Duty", so their friendship probably ended around that time. So we'll have to wait for the next album. If she still writes "to my honey" there.

Exactly, that's just how it is. You don't throw meaningfull glances at your love during a tv show airing out to millions of viewers, not in my world, but personally I wouldn't have anything against them doing it.
