Yeah, looks like Utada...

truehappiness 30th June 2006 12:45 PM

It is. If you look at the characters, you see the same chinese character for "BLUE" in the two titles. :3

CREA.tive 30th June 2006 12:51 PM

congrats ayu:):)

~X2RADialbomber~ 30th June 2006 01:05 PM

truehappiness, isn't this supposed to be a singles chart o_O

o__o But why is ULTRA BLUE on the singles chart? And why are there 3 GOOD DAY's by V6 in the charts? I knew that was Utada because of the name, it was the same writing on my Distance album as well.. :D

I knew it was Ayu and BLUE BIRD through the second letter which meant bird, I think. Or chicken.

truehappiness 30th June 2006 01:15 PM

Perhaps all CDs are lumped together?

B'z MONSTER album is here as well..

Mad_Cactuar 30th June 2006 01:16 PM

Probably... Hmm. The thread title is sure confusing since there aren't any links to the source for us to verify the chart's validity.

Qt Mashi 30th June 2006 01:19 PM

wow ayu percentage is high

thansk for the info

Nu-NRG 30th June 2006 01:24 PM

^ that percentage stands for how much in total sales(%)
and about the wore "blue" for both of the songs
the first character doesn't mean blue, it means green actually

truehappiness 30th June 2006 01:30 PM

That's a scary lostintranslation thing. XD

"GREEN CHICKEN" -- bin qi bu XD

Mad_Cactuar 30th June 2006 01:32 PM

Ooh, green.. I knew that. xD

LOL, GREEN CHICKEN.

Endlessoul 30th June 2006 01:47 PM

^Lol it means bird anyway. :laugh

And I don't think it's a single chart. It seems much more like a separated ranking for Japanese records including both singles and albums.

Anyway yay for Ayu.

darkswordz 30th June 2006 02:25 PM

i love the percentage :D GO AYU!!!!!!!!!!

alternarist 30th June 2006 02:45 PM

weehee!! good job ayu!! :D:D:D:D

ayu_fan929 30th June 2006 03:08 PM

Is this from Taiwan? It's in simplified chinese and TW uses traditional....

elepop 30th June 2006 03:44 PM

Great for Ayu! I wonder why they wrote "blue bird" in chinese...

spacelion 30th June 2006 04:04 PM

Well she does do remarkably well in Taiwan. Didn't (miss)understood sold like crazy there?

Mirai Noah 30th June 2006 04:05 PM

Go Ayu!! :D

(miss)understood seemed to be a surpising mega-hit in Taiwan... lately, her japanese popularity is slightly decreasing, while internationally, she gets better and better.

AyuGAME 30th June 2006 05:43 PM

i don't know why but i can't see the pics
congratulation though

Raleigh 30th June 2006 07:10 PM

Congrats :D

micster 30th June 2006 07:39 PM

YAY Hitomi Shi!

truehappiness 30th June 2006 08:02 PM

The titles are usually converted into Chinese for Taiwan [and maybe even HK?] release. When I saw Ayu's (m)u PVs on TV, all the titles went from like HEAVEN => tian guo ... or something. XDD

^ oh...okie ^.^;;;

T.T and i wanted to have my moment of specialness...

well, the second character pronounced in chinese is homonym with how "chicken" is also pronounced (qi).

Actually, if judging by homonyms, then it's Hamasaki=ice chicken.

XD

extepan 1st July 2006 03:41 AM

congrats!

it is interesting that the translation of "blue bird" is "green bird"

truehappiness: japanese, korean or western cd releases in hong kong are NEVER translated to chinese. hong kong people can handle foreign languages :)

Kikaru: the second character 'qi' is NOT the same as chicken. chicken is 'ji' which is different from 'qi'. and in addition, the tones of the two characters are different too.

the first character is 'bin', and it is not the same as 'ice' either. 'ice' is 'bing', but the tones are the same.

Nevada 1st July 2006 04:28 AM

Wow. Ayu is continuing to top charts with BLUE BIRD. Good Job Ayu.

Ah! I was just wondering. XD

I guess I was seeing the Taiwan releases then. Thanks much! :3

ayu-marco 1st July 2006 06:03 AM

GREAT!
I still haven't bought BLUE BIRD single...
this single is near to be out of stock in Hong Kong
and it is extremely expensive comparing with other artist singles

Endlessoul 1st July 2006 06:12 AM

I suggest someone set up an organization to count international sales. Ayu's figures will be amazing! :D

Kikaru was only saying that they sort of sound alike...hence the word "homonym".. But man, I hate her name in Chinese. It's so ugly. Reminds me of butthole for some reason.

Anyways, my mom saw the translated title and she was like, "o_O".

Congrats to Ayumi though.

LOL, I know :laugh "qing niao."

ayuflareup! 1st July 2006 07:03 AM

but the translation for UTADA's album ULTRA BLUE is abit hilarious^^~
ULTRA BLUE =青出于藍
i believe that the direct translation should be 超級青藍^^~just like BLUE BIRD
青鳥^^~

Connected 2nd July 2006 03:27 AM

Um...three questions.

1. "BLUE BIRD" wasn't released in Taiwan until 6/29, according to Ayu's Avex Taiwan official website here.

2. If it's the Taiwan rankings, why is it in Simplified Chinese?

3. "BLUE BIRD" is nowhere to be seen in what I believe is Taiwan's official charts, g-music. Link here.

LacusClyne 2nd July 2006 10:05 AM

oh, and another thing which chart is this from? G-music? or??? coz the chart looks weird...it's more of a japan chart then single chart(since Utada is up there) and the oversea version isn't avaible yet.

unless, this is the chart for the japan version in taiwan. coz as far as i know there should be 2 version of V6 singles for the oversea version yet...

But "ice cream" is "bing chi ling" Or something. I'm really bad a pinyin.

sora2522 2nd July 2006 11:06 AM

unfortunately, i cannot read chinese..i know that ayu's name is there because i sorta memorized how it looked like...but yea, my mom and aunts always call her bing chi boo..and mika nakashima is jong dao may jia...i forgot what kuu is though XP (i'ma ask mom tomorrow)

good point, but i just took the first two syllables (bing chi)..i unno..her chinese name reminds me of ice cream (the sound, not ayu herself XD)

and i understand your pinyin problem..i dunno how to do transliteration either XP...welcome to the club! :D

I can't read Chinese either. I suck =( I can read some here and there and I've been trying to learn, but it's just so hard. I can only speak it/understand it. lol, my mom only knows about namie amuro and she talked about her sometimes because she watches this show where one of the guests often talks about her.

Yeah I know what you mean thougha bout the ice cream. It does remind me of it. I don't like her name though...in chinese, it sounds too 'rough'.

Yeah, pinyin is so stupid. Either that or they have accent marks, I mean who honestly understands that. God. Chinese sucks =P

sora2522 2nd July 2006 11:25 AM

^ hey! chinese is a good language!! other than japanese, i really wanna know more about chinese D<

her name in chinese is ok...japanese is better though...

rizilmine 2nd July 2006 11:28 AM

^ Lol, yeah it is a good language. It just frustrates me that I wasn't able to read or write it. It's one thing to know a language fluently by speaking, but it's another thing to know how to read a language.

Like, there's so many connections between Japanese & Chinese (with news and music and stuff) and it's easy to find sites with information about say Ayumi in both chinese and japanese...and it's like, oh i know chinese, i can go to this site to read the same information translated, but then bam, I can't read it.

No, a "q" in the official Hanyu Pinyin system is, instead of having a hard sound, pronounced like a soft "ch." As for Cantonese, Ayu's name is pronounced as "bun kay bo."

sora2522 2nd July 2006 10:50 PM

^ that's what i mean...well, in terms of ayu's name. it's bun qi (or qay...something like that) bo. i know that ^.^;

chameber80218 3rd July 2006 04:48 PM

Ha, AYU- [SBALASI]! Of course, she always does! I don't suprise, but happy.

immel 3rd July 2006 05:31 PM

Any chance we can see numbers for the sales anywhere? Anyone knows?

urumichan 8th July 2006 07:00 PM

blue bird it's a beautiful

marca 8th July 2006 07:18 PM

i am pretty sure this is not a taiwan ranking chart because taiwan never uses the simplified chinese text, they use the traditional chinese text instead... if my guess is correct, the source of this comes from china...

michiAki 9th July 2006 06:23 AM

thanks for the info~~!!
