About Disliking Ayus NEW Songs...

Well as the headline says about disliking Ayu's NEW Songs.
There are a lot of people at the moment who really dislike her new songs.
And a lot of people say Ayu goes downhill.
But I am sure alter we'll like this songs.

When I meet her in 2004 everybody disliked Greatful Days-but later everybody liked it!
Or do you remember last year when the Step you/Is this love single came out everybody said "Uhh so bad songs" Finally everybody likes them.

So I think she should wait until we say AYU GOES DOWNHILL.
Later we sure will like these songs.
That's how I think about it.^^

immel 5th July 2006 12:50 PM

Another topic like this :-O

Well, people tend to get "used" to her stuff as the years pass by it seems.

chibi_sunny 5th July 2006 01:00 PM

Yeah, yeah, we get over it eventually. Sometimes she makes good songs, sometimes, they sound plain bad. But I can't take anymore of these topics.

hallelujah_united 5th July 2006 02:30 PM

^Yup, me neither. Just because you don't like a new song that she puts out doesn't mean that others can't like it and you have to tell other people not to like it. We have many members here, and I'm sure our tastes are extremely varied as well.

ohsixthirty 5th July 2006 02:42 PM

i've noticed the same...everyone complains and then later they forget and like it. its the same with her songs and with her single/album covers.

AyUmIXx 5th July 2006 02:48 PM

i felt the same way too actually..but not really that hating the songs..but the songs just had not grown on me..example like, i didn't like "HAPPY ENDING" everytime i heard the song from the album..but after seeing ayu performed the song live..i was like.."Wow..this song is perfect.." and now i even sing the song.. hahaha :D

HanabiChick 5th July 2006 04:06 PM

Most of the songs I didn't like when they were released I still don't really like... probably like immel said, just got used to them, but they're never going to be favourites with me - not ones I actually want to listen to. It's weird how people are still trying to get someone who doesn't like a song to try and like it, but I still don't see those who dislike songs saying, 'give it a while and I swear you'll hate it just as much' :shrug Some things you just don't have any control over, so it's best not to worry about it too much.

Aisha_Angel 5th July 2006 04:14 PM

O.O...more topics on this...lol. I love Ayu's material...Sometimes I won't like a song but I don't say it's a piece of garbage or anything like that because I know a lot of time and love went into it on her part. Eventually, after seeing it live or "giving it a chance" just fall in love with it. I used to HATE flower garden, but now I actually enjoy seeing the Ayu-hoedown during her concerts...lol

you said everything

alternarist 5th July 2006 06:34 PM

haha. i admit last time i tried to influence everyone to like Bold & Delicious. but now i dont. cos its pointless and a waste of time. if they dont like it, so be it. they cant accept new songs, its their problem. not mine. and definitely not ayu's. a simple analogy: if u dont like to drink coke, den dont drink it. dont insult coke as there are still pple who like it and its certainly not coke's fault.

LOL as if u guys understand my analogy. but its ok. time will change everything.

realize_! 5th July 2006 06:38 PM

I don't know why people care if others dislike it or not. :shrug

Aisha_Angel 5th July 2006 06:40 PM

^That's a great philosophy...why didn't I think of it? It's so simple...

truehappiness 6th July 2006 01:19 AM

If others dislike it, then it's their choice.

Then again, some people REALLY dislike it and go all out in trying to smash that in people's faces.. o_o. That's when it sort of annoys me XD

But generally, people can dislike what they want.. [remember back when like, everyone hated INSPIRE? XDD]

Daking 6th July 2006 09:49 AM

if people really love certain songs/albums it becomes harder to top it and we get more people dissappointed because New Album doesn't meet the standards of I am.. or Rainbow or whichever album. People will probably like the songs in a couple years and complain about the new stuff :).

mitch179 6th July 2006 09:55 AM

I really lyked Startin wen it first came out, then I hated it. It was annoying so for some reason, that was the complete opposite. I lyk it first then I hate it. With the other song on that single, Born To Be.... I really thort it was very average at first, then it started to grow on me. With BLUE BIRD, i loved it wen it first came out, still do, same with Beautiful Fighters. But yes, I have noticed this before on a few different forums.

Lol yea....i agree to this....I think there is no need to compare with her past...

emi♡ 6th July 2006 10:10 AM

it doesn't matter who likes what...we, her true fans, will always support her.

no, we cannot say Ayu is going downhill, that was the rantings of a fan over her new music...the thread was unnecessary, it was only an opinion, sadly, some people agree, but I must say most don't.

Like I said in that thread...if you think she's gone downhill THAT much, then you're welcome to leave. No one is stopping you or forcing you to stay here...if you don't like Ayu, then why are you wasting your "precious" time on an Ayu forum.

And while this is a friendly forum, where everyone respects each other and opinions, I do think that saying bad things about Ayu does catch attention from her fans (all of the members), I mean that thread was what, 9-10 pages long?

but I don't think that it has become that extreme...I don't think she's going downhill, and I don't think she went downhill, and I don't think there's any warrant to say any one of those.

immel 6th July 2006 11:14 AM

I belive that the Downhill Thread was created by a fan who was worried and had gotten the "wrong" view of due to the fact that to him/her it seemed like Ayu is going downhill, rather than someone disliking her. Due to various facts that really indicate she does go downhill, in a way. (sales)

imo the thread wasn't unneccessary because it let people air their thoughts, a lot of people probably broadened their view on the matter after reading in that thread.

I agree that the thread had a negative tone in some parts of it, but that's not something that anyone should be too bothered by :).

No_Doubt 6th July 2006 03:41 PM

Whatever Ayu releases, there are always some people who are going to hate it, but there are probably just as many people who love it or at least like it. Obviously, if there are people who genuinely love her new work, she isn't going downhill. That being said, if you don't like her recent work, as long as you justify why you don't like it it's a very valid opinion. In contrast, if you love her new work, there is really no need to try to sway those who don't like it into having an appreciation for it. Even though I love almost all of Ayu's work, from A Song For XX to her most recent singles, I generally tend to favour her recent music, from 2003 to the present. In contrast, I'm sure a lot of people much prefer older work, which is great as well. Either way, you will naturally gravitate to whatever music you really like by her. I think that we should just be able to voice our opinions while not trying to discredit others views.

to be honest i can relate to that because i also have this worried feeling that ayu is jus not as popular as she used to... at her peak her singles can sell a million but now i would be happy if blue bird can sell 300,000... her apperances on tv had also reduced...

i totally agree with no doubt... although we are all fans of ayu, it does not mean that we like her blindly or that we like everything from her... i consider myself to be a big fan of ayu but i have to admit there are some of her songs that i dont really like... however i dont think this makes me less of a fan, in fact i think it makes me more of a fan...:D

I agree, this is also my view though I'm not really worried. I belive I wrote quite a lot on my view in the Downhill thread, don't remember :D.

marca 6th July 2006 06:33 PM

well, i guess it is a fan's mindset that you always hope that your idol would be at the top... but i guess that isnt possible in reality, especially in such a fickle music industry...

I know. It makes me feel like it's not okay to dislike a song.

FuNsTyLe 6th July 2006 07:04 PM

Her songs are coming too often, if she would release a single slower, then maybe they would be better, and people woundlt get tired of it too quick. Now, every time Ayu releases a song I find boring, I'm like "Oh well, she'll release another single in 2 weeks anyway..."

No_Doubt 7th July 2006 05:22 PM

I don't mean to generalise here, but some people seem to be very biased toward Ayu's old music. Definitly not everyone, but a few people say they hate Ayu's new music without justifying why. It seems a lot harder to like a new Ayu song these days that it is to dislike it, not necessarily because her new songs are bad, just a lot of people tend to have negative feelings about them. For instance, if I say I love Bold & Delicious or Pride or Beautiful Fighters, it's because I genuinely like those songs, not because I'm some crazed fan boy. I don't think my opinions should be viewed as inferior to the opinions of those who hate Ayu's recent music. Sorry if you don't agree with this, I just wanted to offer a different perspective.

I think that people are perpetually generating more and more negativity toward Ayu. If you are expecting Ayu's next single to be bad, you are probably going to think it's bad regardless of what the actual quality of the single is. Sometimes I feel like if people were more receptive to change and less pessimistic they would appreciate Ayu's new music a bit more.

Ani_C 7th July 2006 05:30 PM

I think we should wait an year and we'll do exactly the same thing like say she has a song called Lately or sumthing we'll be like "People don't like it much" or "I don't like it" and then someone will be like "Remember BLUE BIRD and BEAUTIFUL FIGHTERS we didn't like them much at first but now" LOL

elepop 7th July 2006 05:38 PM

I don't think that years later, I'll like the song that I hate now. That's just the way it is.

Jer Sieu 8th July 2006 01:47 PM

People tries their best to influence someone else to like what they like because they want to share or chat with their friends about what they like... It is not wrong but it is a waste of time... If that person hates ayu, let him/her be... It's not that you are going to make everyone in this world like ayu or what... There is no way that everyone likes one particular person...

I have said this lots of times and I'll say it again... It IS a waste of time... You looking for someone to chat with about Ayu? Why not use this forum? Or get some friends from this forum, request and add them into your MSN/ICQ/whatever and chat everyday?

Even if you DID make your friend forcibily like it, he won't be a fan like you because he is not really into it while you are... The only thing you should do is just recommend some songs and if they don't want it, then just keep it to yourself...

Norrel 8th July 2006 01:50 PM

marca 8th July 2006 06:52 PM

after reading through some of the posts, the impression that they give me is not that ayu have gone downhill, but rather they have gotten tired of her songs...

i have to admit that it had been a long time since she debuted, almost 8 years, and i think some people have gotten sick of listening to her songs... that is why there are grumblings of maybe she is going downhill but i think they just simply got tired of her... if that really is the case, i suggest moving away from her temporarily, take a break from her songs...

chocobo 8th July 2006 07:41 PM

i noticed that people are disliking alot of new songs but hey this is the funny part eventhough they dont like it, they are still updated or even dling some new songs just to bash something. i dont know if they have problems with their heads.

if you dont like it then dont listen to it. STOP influencing people not to like a particular song or better yet stop visiting the forum who are dedicated to a particular singer you dont like. And also stop commenting if you are not satisfied with ayu's new song AS IF we cared if you dont like it.

PickleCookies 8th July 2006 09:38 PM

Excuse me, chocobo, but what makes you think you're better than the rest of us? This isn't happy, fun, lovely CandyLand. Not everyone loves everything just beause it's Hamasaki. Whether you like to believe it or not, AHS is a forum, and not everyone shares the same naïve opinions.

Like many have said before, and many will continue to say, not everyone will like every Ayu song. Get. Over. It. We can listen to what we want, we can download what we want, we can like or dislike what we want, and for that matter, we can have opinion we want. It's not up to your discretion whether we can state it or not. No one asked you.

None of us are "influencing" anyone to dislike her music; similarly, none of you are "influencing" us to enjoy her music. Why don't you take your own advice and stop reading our comments if you don't like them. Stop commenting on what we write "AS IF" we care that you don't like it.

Some of us keep downloading her music, because that's what we do. No, we don't have "problems with our heads." Somewhere, in the back of our hearts, we hope Hamasaki will release a song that doesn't get our hopes up. Unfortunately, that isn't always the case.

micster 8th July 2006 09:41 PM

hopeorpain 9th July 2006 12:14 AM

Yeah I completely agree with you. My top favorite albums "RAINBOW" and "LOVEppears" weren't my favorites until listening to them for two years.

chocobo 9th July 2006 01:08 AM

picklecookies keeping your high hopes that makes you dissapointed.
in every artist whether it be ayu or be any artist you cant always expect a good song, there will always be such a bad song on it
so im wondering now if your living in a fairyland to expect always a good music.

PickleCookies 9th July 2006 01:49 AM

I didn't keep my hopes high. I said "in the back of our hearts" for a reason. The emphasis was meant for a small, miniscule hope. So, essentially, we're not disappointed because we've come to expect this from Hamasaki.

But I do wonder if some of you live in a "fairyland" always thinking every Ayu song is "a good music."

Probably because we really like the songs? They aren't half-bad too. Even the worst aren't really disastrous. But if compared to other artistes.. :innocent I'm also annoyed with Ayu's recent releases after listening to the stuff other artistes with lower sales churn out.

PickleCookies 9th July 2006 02:32 AM

I really don't wonder that. I was just making a similar outlandish statement.

Uhh how does blurting have anything to do with influencing? (or in any way connected to it?)

Risky Lotus 9th July 2006 03:35 AM

....not another thread like this.
Can't we all just respect everyone's individual opinions and shut the **** up about it?
My god already.

devilayu 9th July 2006 03:40 AM

Just my two cents but I don't think anyone should be telling anyone else that they will or should like all of Ayumi's songs. Everyone has different opinions and as long as they voice them without insulting each other or other artists it should be accepted. The same goes when talking about others who don't like Ayumi; no one here is better because they like Ayumi. This thread is on the verge of being closed if I see another post telling someone not to state their valid, non-offensive opinion about the music itself (good or bad)

chocobo 9th July 2006 03:57 AM

whats the purpose of blurting ? the purpose is to tell everyone and when someone states/tells something to prove his/her point, this person wants to be heard and be acknowledged. right? so its merely somewhat influencing too.
take for example those people who rally on streets.

i forgot to add something

im not influencing people to like all the new songs coz neither me i dont like all of it.
but im somewhat annoyed how this person blunt something on his posts

LacusClyne 9th July 2006 04:07 AM

nothing is perfect in this little world, music aren't any difference. you can't always expect ayu to have great music all the time, there will be some songs that are weaker, some average songs, some will manage to be a great hit and well-liked' like M, evolution, a song for xx, Boys & Girls, STEP you, rainbow, because of you, Ourselves, HEAVEN, moments.

hiro 9th July 2006 05:54 AM

I think it's a bit odd people have to state obvious facts like "nothing is perfect so therefore you can't expect Ayumi to be perfect" kind of statements to defend the fact Ayu's music isn't very good anymore. When one of you beloved singers/musicians starts to release crappy music consistently, you have the right to complain.

ALSO....

That blurting=influencing logic is quite a stretch. If a person is so easily influenced by strong statements of dislike then that person has big problems (ie. the person is a tool)

How is someone saying they dislike her music any different than someone saying they like her music? With your logic, no one should state their opinion.

I fully agree on this.. If whatever u say greatly influences someone, than billions of people in millions of forums will be greatly influenced by everything cuz here in AHS, people voice their opinion and you can't actually say that everyone get influence by every single opinion, do they?

HanabiChick 9th July 2006 11:20 AM

I agree with PC, if stating that you dislike some song is influencing people, then someone stating that they like it is also influencing people... it goes both ways. If someone starts a thread asking what people think of a new song or PV, people are going to give their opinions on it, both good and bad. That's the way life is, you're going to get different opinions on something, always. Even two people who like something aren't going to agree on which parts are best and which aren't :yes If everybody thought the same way, then life would be boring.

"Speaking is FORBIDDEN" lol...

chocobo 9th July 2006 03:20 PM

like i said its not that im prohibiting others to dislike her new songs ofcourse
people have different tastes, so sure say anything you want,
im not against at all..
but my point is if you dont want something say it nicely so it wont hurt others who likes the new songs.

sorry for all the confusion i made myself clear. thankyou.

HanabiChick 9th July 2006 05:13 PM

Nobody is trying to hurt anyone here, we are all just posting our opinions on things. If people are 'hurt' by an opinion that disagrees with their own, then that's their problem, nobody else's really. Wherever you go, you're always going to hear something not nice about something you like - you have to learn to accept it and not let it bother you, because you're going to hear worse than a negative opinion on something.

chocobo 9th July 2006 05:41 PM

yeah i know what you are saying.

its hard to please everybody to like certain things likewise ayu is not there to pleased us all.
on the some point pleasing everybody is bad since youre losing here what you stand for and/or not being happy at all.

Well, that actually make some sense..

It's true that sometimes people DO voice their opinion in a rude way and someone may just take it seriously... However, chocobo, that didn't happen in AHS... Not that I know of...

Most of the people here voice their opinion politely... Some other forums may have like spam wars, and everything because of rude opinions like "OMG STEP YOU IS SO FREAKING LAME!!!" well I've been to one forum (not related to ayu) and just one rude post by someone and causes havoc in the whole forum... Clearly, I don't think that happened to AHS.. I can't find the history of AHS anywhere so I dunno...

Well, now I hope no one is hurt by MY opinion.. hehe :D

@HanabiChick : Yes, you are correct... There is no such thing as everyone in the world likes what you like...

HanabiChick 10th July 2006 04:07 PM

That's true - most here are respectful when posting opinions :yes It's a lot friendlier than some of the forums I've been part of.

zeroshin888 10th July 2006 08:46 PM

It's true that people get used to the newer stuff. I remember before (m)u released, there were previews for every single song and people were all like 'omg, this album is gonna suck!' Once the album released, everyone was like, 'this is such a good album' or 'this album sucks' blah blah blah. It's really getting tiring. I get pissed everytime people listen to the preview, and say that the song SUCKS! Why can't people JUDGE after they have heard the full preview? This happens everytime Ayu releases something new.

imo, I don't really think that Ayu is going downhill but she just has a lot more competition than a few years back (ie: Koda Kumi).
