Sooo have you guessed yet?
... ... ... ... ... Okay, fine I'll tell you :lech ... ... ... ... ... So, I went in to pick up my Dir en Grey CD, which I havent heard from yet. Instead, while waiting for the line, I went to check if "ULTRA BLUE" was there, I went to the "U" section, nothing.. my mom was standing beside the "H" so I checked.. Nothing. A few seconds later... "OH MY GOD ITS HIKARU!!!!" I got it RIGHT AWAY! I put it back cause I wasnt sure if I was aloud to get it, my mom said "dont you want that?" I took it XDD I bought it 2 hours ago or so.. AND I HAVENT HEARD IT!! I will right now! :D IM SOOO HAPPYYYYY! :thud |

i was lucky enough to come across: L'arc~en~ciel - Awake, Nami Tamaki - Greeting, and Fullmetal Alchemist Complete Best at Samgoody's ^_^ i love tofu records...now...I WANT NANA KITADE'S 18 -eighteen- ALBUM!!!
|
^Yup, Sam Goody's is where I get my J-pop-to-America goodness. I also got TM REvolution's vertical infinity and Maaya Sakamoto's Hotchpotch there.
I want Nana Kitade's album, too, but I haven't been up to SG in...over a month. XD |
Aw~ you guys are lucky! you've got a lot of different CD shops with Asian music! :D
|
well its not a lot of Asian music...its about 7 or 8 cds...and most of it is J-rockish stuff....and its all anime music...like Nana Kitade's album, or Nami Tamaki's Greeting.
|
we have HMV in singapore too. i just went there yesterday and saw Kinki Kids new single, no kumi...coz i just want to look at it since i had not get my copy...
HMV imports cds from all over the world, their data base is HU*GE! they can find almost every cd(unless it's out of print). I like them, though the prices is slughtly higher then other cd stores. |
crap...no wonder ive never heard of HMV...there arent any in the US....only in UK, Australia, Hong Kong, and Japan.....:(
|
I hate you >< THERE'S NOT EVEN ONE FRIGGIN' HMV STORE IN MY AREA!!! (I live on the North Shore near Laval.) I guess I'll have to order "Single Collection" online then. :(
|
whaaaaaaat????? omg omg omg!!!!!! so you did find it in the H section....woooooow O_____O I'm gonna look at the HMV in my area next week...there might be some copies O___O

SIngapore too
is there HMV in all the countries? |
HMV was pretty nice place for get a jpop cd / dvd
i love it..but the price was more expensive than the other place |
^Don't you know? HMV = Higher than Market Value :laugh
I guess having that large a source does come at a slightly higher price. But mysteriously, I still do a lot of my CD shopping there. Hazuki: Have you FINALLY gotten round to listening it yet? |

^but do some of those bigger cd stores import cds from Asia? If they do, is it possible to ask them to order j-pop for you?
|
I just listened to it entirely and it really is good :yes If anyone is planning on getting it, you should!
Did anyone notice "COLORS" being different? Maybe it's just me.. I really love both tracks, "This is Love" and "One Night Magic" :) |
Ah, the HMV by me never has anything. But, I'll check for the heck of it.
(Oh, on another note, have you ever gotten any stuff out by Tofu Records there?) |
Nope.. For some reason, here in Montreal, NOTHING!
|
Here either -_-; They have to order stuff for me and it takes too long.
|
It's cool that her albums were released commercially in Canada, but I'm glad that I live near San Francisco because I can just buy from Kinokuniya...expensive though.
|
So basically, you found an Utada CD?
Yay ^_^ |
Sam Goody's has asian stuff...well im taking a 50 min trip to the closet one to find some asian music
|
They do? Liar! Not mines D=
|
I wish they'd put Tofu Records in there..
There's also a place called "St-Eustache" or something that's about an hour away from my house that has imports of Jmusic and other Japanese things too, but no one wants to take me there :eviltongu Quote:
"We get stuff from Sony every 3 weeks or so." Lieeees :grumpy |
Now I know why you are happy!
* reads your LJ entry * |

^do you need to pay deposit for that? coz some cd stores i had heard of require you to do so, when the cd is not in demand/hard to buy.
|
No idea, but now you mention it, I'd imagine so.
mi|kshake~ |
if they accept deposit, that means a higher chance that they actually DO search for you, not like some cd stores which says they will try to do so, but maybe they never bother...
|
^ They never asked me for a deposit *kicks HMV*
|
^ok....i just went to HMV to see if there was any J-POP, and of course.....NOTHING:weep I guess i should move to Montreal:weepQuebec city=blah
|
^HMV....You can order from them, i don't think they will have many j-pop cds in stock, since not many people will buy.
|
i go to tsutaya everyday haha
|
HMV dosen't really order Jmusic, I guess T_________T
They're usually imports (Like if you check on their site ^^) but they don't ask for a deposit, which is bad, since like Lacus said they'd actually look for it if there is a deposit. I'm still waiting for my call. :eviltongu Apparently I could go to Hot Topic (If we have one) and find Dir en Grey inside :irked |
Found it at the HMVs in Vancouver less than a month ago. The Robson HMV had tons and I found it without looking. And I've seen it at the Oakridge & Coquitlam Centre locations too, if you live in the area.
|
We need some Hot Topics over here. I've been to 3 around the Detroit area and none had Withering to death (or the newer Deg shirt, which was lovely ~_~).
|
I want some DeG stuff :weep
Why don't we have Hot Topic anyways? o__O I'll go check if they have their shirts at some random store.. Maybe they do since they have all that Green Day and things like that. |
Yeah it's been known for quite a while that ULTRA BLUE and Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol.1 was released in Canada only.
I think it's already a month since it's been released. The packaging definitely isn't as good as the normal Overseas version, or the Japan Version. But it's better than nothing XD |
just curious, which is cheaper? the oversea version or the cds that are release there?
|
The one that was released here, of course.
I don't know what the overseas packaging is like, but if I can buy it for $19 Canadian instead of going online and spending $30-35 Canadian after shipping... I don't care. |
^oversea version is made from hongkong, the quality is close to japan version. and the price is around US$18, without shipping cost.
the oversea version had an extra translation sheet in chinese. |
The Taiwan Version has a slipcase :o
|
Oh. ...I don't need Chinese lyrics, even if I can sort of read Mandarin better than Japanese. =P
US$18 = Canadian $22 or so. And then shipping. ..and I always lose my slip cases. >.> |
ah you're so lucky to have HMV there, theres none here in the US. Just Tofu I guess =D
|
You have Virgin in the States. I've picked up Jpop there before (I was pretty suprised, too).

I've bought Ayu' Seasons, Dearest, I am..., and ayu-mi-x II version JPN (or whatever it's called) all Japan versions there. I asked for some other aritsts and they said they were just out of stock when I was there.
|
the canadian version is bad compared to the overseas and japan version
the lyric booklet for the canada version DOES NOT HAVE GLOSSY PAPER Japan and Overseas have the same HIGHQUALITY GLOSSY PAPER and JP and OS version, the cd case is slightly bigger (thicker) than normal cds, because of the thickness of the booklet, which is around 32 pages the Canadian version is the same thiness as normal cds, and has no glossy paper and it doesn't have an "obi" (sleeve-like thing that surrounds the left side of the cd case) JP and OS has it |
^ That's the least of my worries. As long if it plays my music I'm happy. SO what if it doesn't have the obi or it's not glossy paper it's not going to ruin the music which is what matters... :shrug
