What publicity stunt should Ayu pull?
 

Yes everyone does it. Especially you-know-who which I'm not going to mention as I see her name in every single thread these days. She has done her second stunt with the same-melody-different-arrangements thingy. Before that the heavily promoted quadro-A-side and photobook. Before that, the "subscribed" singles that comes every week whether you like them or not.

So for Ayu, what should be done to restore her popularity? Give your views and procedures or whatever.

I want same arrangements, different melodies. It will be so awesome, like a sequel of sorts. Lots of instruments for two A-sides, both of them exact same ones.

And a concept album. I love concept albums, especially experimental ones. They don't always do well, but they're awesome most of the time. Ayu's experimentation never ceases to amaze us. She should do more.

i think she must do a really HEAVY promotion...
many people missed her very much..so its the time to show who the real queen of jpop again...
i feel really sure that if she release a 2nd best album it will be a HUGE SUPER MEGA SALES number

Maybe not 100% a concept album (For this the songs' themes are too different!?), but I want the new mini-album to have an overall feel. Just like "RAINBOW" which had a rainbow-y feel to it - from the cover, to the booklet, to the instrumentals and songs itself, that seem to represent different "colours".

True. Every album except "(miss)understood". And even though all the others have themes, too, probably none as much as ""RAINBOW" (and maybe "MY STORY"). But this may depend on every persons, ern... feeling?

Yeah, well, she's sorta claimed that there's a reason behind everything she does, which is kind of saying out right - there's a theme/concept/hidden messages/whatever in what she does.

It all depends on how you want to see it yourself, what you feel and what you think.

All too often your (your as in anyone) personal feelings get very effected by the people around you and their comments. The general public is amazingly talented at seeing more messages than you yourself are ;).

Publicity stunt, eh? Like... she could perform at the next Winter Olympics ceremony with Nagase. And at the end, he could grab onto her shirt and "accidentally" rip it off, exposing one breast.

she should include more goodies with her releases like kumi. That would boost the sales. Also autograph signing sessions would be nice, and go to more talk shows like heyx3.

I'm also wondering what the theme would be for this new album. From the official site update, it looks like the cover would be pink with jewels...I can't think of how pink would go along with the songs. For some reason I keep picturing Rina Aiuchi's DELIGHT album cover

That'd cause riot on the streets. People would suffocate in the throng. Theoretically it would be pretty nice though :).

I'm thinking of something more like Hitomi's TRAVELER cover. Or maybe I am... or the H covers (although considering when it's being released...)

Haha, well, it's basically what she has been doing for all her albums, except (m)u and Ma, I don't have any problem with that as long as it looks good :D.

i think i'd be cool if she made music videos to past songs, to put as a bonus with a dvd...like monochrome, july 1st, independant, etc. maybe make a pv for every song? hahaha :P but as for the same melody/arrangment different lyrics...i dont think id like that. haha

She'd have her old songs, that sold so good, promoting her for free, and PVs for them to drag even more people towards the release. And combining that with new material that a lot of people is looking forward to it would probably sell quite well.

Let's just hope they'd go for quality producers of the PVs.

Oh me likey making extra PVs and bonuses for upcoming CDs. Maybe it's time she released the "A" DVD single with PVs for each songs. I wonder how much it'll sell now. Or she could just tack on the PV for "Monochrome" on her next single. Then Trauma. And then work her way through every song she's done.

PVs isn't really a cheap thing to make, so I don't think avex would take the risk ... it's very possible it wouldn't pay off in case the sales wouldn't be increased by too much.

I know I made a similar post in a different thread, but she WAS at a healthy weight. Someone makes it sound like she was some kind of cracked-out-Hollywood-keiko-nicole-mary-kated-out. She wasen't. She looked perfectly normal, she looked well for her age and she diden't even look "teen skinny" (which often is due to rapid growth, but never seems to wear off some people.. like amoru) I'm not claiming that she's at an unhealthy weight now. But, It's no wonder that people get eating disorders when "Oh you look so healthy and great" that's what people say when someone actually gains, it will surely make a lot of people think they're in danger of getting obese. I don't think there are a lot of people (well, at least not girls and except people who try to build muscles) who would take that as a compliment, >_< Also she's no american, she's not buildt like europeans or africans.

Sorry for getting all worked up by this. But calling someone unhealthy because they're slim is no good way to fight overweight either. Which is a bigger problem now than any eating disorder.

And as a final note, when at least I write of "obese whale ayu" it's mostly because she changed and it's something to make a joke on. =P I know ayu is far from the personification of obese.

Putting on a bit of weight sure was one huge publicity stunt.
