I think it's awesome that Secret is still in the top after a few days. When the mini album was announced I think it only stayed up there for a day or so, now it's been in the top for a longer time. It's still even number two.

Of course Black Cherry will pass it, I think everyone expects that album to sell better than Secret.

I always wonder if Ayu really knows how many fans she has WORLDWIDE! She has alot here in the US, and I know she has others in Spanish countries and more! However I know Utada has alot of fans here in the US but where were they to support her when she released EXODUS? Surely she has more than 5,000 fans... hm?

I wonder if the situation for mini album => full album was the same in Japan.

I imagine that people didn't have to reorder again, so there were those that ordered already and possibly just didn't have to order again..

ayu really needs the sales this time!

The only bad thing about those many fans is that they don't really matter, because they are too spread out. World wide she sells maybe, what... hard to estimate anything, but very little. In Japan she sells huge amounts, on a small area. Promoting herself world wide would most likely not be profitable, the area over which she'd have to do it would be too big.

I know you weren't really talking about anything like that, and this isn't arguments against you, only thoughts I came up with when I read your post.

She probably realizes that the number of fans she has world wide is at least noticeable, but even if she knows about it there isn't really anything she can do about it, at all.

"Black Cherry" has a score of 24. LOL.

I wonder if a group of evil minded anti kumis made an attack on BLACK CHERRY, if that's the case.

I imagine that if that were the case, the Ayu-score should be in the negatives right now.. :|

I think it's just a matter of too much, too soon. Give us time to process the music, Avex!

You need a special kind of fandom to actually enter and vote for those albums, mainly I'd say the really fan-ish ones do, who know they'll love anything.

That would not render it with a score of 24, it can't be a natural thing.

X wrote in the official Koda Kumi thread that he got from JPM or something that a lot of her fans that had been with her from the start didn't like her new music, thought is was generic and didn't like it at all. So it's not that unlikely. Ayu never really had the same problem, because changes were expected of her and no change that ever occured to her was as big as what happened to kumi the past two years. Dig into it if you like.

And despite that, it still remains at the top of the pre-order chart. Look at the scores for Yume no Uta, 4 hot wave, and best ~first things~, and then compare them to how much they actually sold. Then compare the scores of Startin, Bold & Delicious, Blue Bird to how much they actually sold. Leads me to believe that a bunch of pro-Ayu fans are consistently voting her material high but as of late anti-Kumi fans have been rating hers poorly. :rolleyes

These scores are only an estimate and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the fans. Just look at B&D, scored high but did porly as a single. (Even if B&D was released long before (m)u, i doubt it can manage a ayu-standard sales =X )

I imagine that there would have to be MANY fans rating low, since a few votes doesn't really do much to a score..

Hey man, it was a deep statement. Just shrouded in the mists of facetiousness. Seriously though, a lot of people around here have said that they think Ayu is super pretty etc etc etc but that she doesn't drive them into a horny rage.* People really do love and care about Ayu as a person and THAT is beautiful thing. Thus, Ayu not only reaches out to people, but she also unites them as we are united here on AHS. She's somewhat of a saint, isn't she? She's human; that's starkly clear. But part of what comprises Ayu has an angelic quality.

On the flip side, the music industry in the US seems so depraved to me...

That happens with all the artists. I still cannot understand why Exodus sold so much in Japan (perhaps it helped that no one understood the lyrics?) :P I'm a big Hikki fan, but that album nearly killed me.

I regret buying that album with all my soul. I regret encouraging my Hikki-loved friend to buy it because it cost her money too :(

But yay for Ayu! But I rather have her getting good music and not as much sales than crappy music and making millions. (okay, combination of both would be nice but...)

I have a feeling the cover will either make the number go up or down. Once the chart and the tracklist has been announced.
