paperbag's

Ronnie Day - Written at a Reststop
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
Natalie Imbruglia - Counting Down The Days
Third Eye Blind - Forget Myself
R.E.M.- It's The End Of The World
Spoon - I Turn My Camera On
The Black Crowes - Hard to Handle

explodingbird 8th December 2006 07:24 AM

Well now. That's definitely a new take on graduation.

My only obvious/predictable contribution would be:

Vitamin C: Graduation (Friends Forever)

slashess 8th December 2006 09:08 AM

yikes, I was actually NOT hoping for that song...sorry ^^'

explodingbird 8th December 2006 09:15 AM

I included that as a joke anyway. I doubt I could find any recommendations you'd like, since... well, your list says pretty much everything.

slashess 8th December 2006 09:17 AM

lol, thanks anyways ;) everyone at my school is joking about that too...

...I was thinking about making it "Another Brick in the Wall part 2" by Pink Floyd :P

bondingo 9th December 2006 12:10 AM

My school used "For Good" from Wicked two years ago and it was beautiful. Well actually, our choir sucks ass so it didn't sound that nice, but the song itself is wonderful.

spookshow 9th December 2006 08:53 AM

time of your life by Greenday is a brilliant graduation song -- just listen to the lyrics

Mad_Cactuar 10th December 2006 11:04 AM

One thing that comes to mind is Paris Hilton's Nothing In This World. Seriously. The melodies and arrangements just scream happiness, freedom and euphoria.

Beyonce's Deja Vu has a sweet meaning, I'm sure it applies for graduation ceremonies. No Doubt's It's My Life and Running are also perfect, IMO.

:eyebrow Lol those are like the worst graduation songs ever.

drewbilation 10th December 2006 11:11 AM

^ Seriously. "Deja vu" has nothing to do with graduation. o_O None of them do, really.

Running does! I think. Ok, I never graduated before, so don't look at me like that! :weep

If you think those are bad, got better suggestions? :rolleyes

Mad_Cactuar 10th December 2006 11:40 AM

You're so cute, you know that. :laugh I'm sure your ideas are priceless. Keep them safe in a box or something, alright? :)

That song, as sickening as it gets, is probably the only one I'm accustomed to, due to it being overplayed sometimes on TV and radio.

lol, stop being rude, we don't tolerate it here.

Poker face doesn't for a graduation song in terms of lyrics IMO... I think It's my life would work pretty fine... but I can't really think of anything else at the moment...

And that Vitamin C song... Lol, I first heard it in Scary Movie 2, I can't stop looking at it from this perspective :P

slashess 10th December 2006 05:42 PM

well...Poker Face is an awesome song I know, but yeah it has nothing to do with graduation.

and the Deja Vu by Beyonce...not appropriate sorry...

oh and no one around here likes Paris Hilton either...

and last, no one here likes No Doubt either...

I dont know if you know this but we live in a Sovereign nation, on the Reservation in South Dakota so things run a little different here...hehe!

even though you guys have given some suggestions...I think the ones I have are the ones that will pass as reasonable suggestions...

emi♡ 10th December 2006 09:43 PM

Pomp and Circumstance.

:laugh

(sorry, but it looks like you don't need any more suggestions)

paperbag 11th December 2006 02:02 AM

The Black Crowes - Hard to Handle

Am I the only one who thinks that this would be the perfect song? :innocent

Kodayumi 12th December 2006 05:29 AM

Oh me too!! I love that song. Childhood song eh? :D

DA1SUK1DAY01691 13th December 2006 04:17 AM

Was it Green Day? Wasn't sure. "High School Never Ends"? :)

Erina 14th December 2006 05:06 AM

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) (which is the correct title ;) ) by Green Day is a good song, but it wasn't meant to be a "feel good" type of song. It was written to be, not spiteful, but I can't think of a better word. Everyone interpreted it to be a happier song (myself included), but I saw an interview with them and it was explained there. And now we all know the truth. :D

Sorry I don't have any suggestions, I don't think we even had a graduation song, just a prom song.

Ayu_Fan_00 31st December 2006 07:21 PM

For my middle school graduation, we sang the song friends forever by vitamin C. Hero by mariah carrey is also a good song.
