The new song is done and it's good!!
I want to get it out to everyone quickly. I'm just ITCHING for it!
It's a mid-tempo ballad composed by Tetsuya Yukumi & Arranged by HAL.
It was so much fun to do!
Well, tomorrow I'm going to go do a SMAP x SMAP recording!

Yuck, more HAL.

:no

truehappiness 1st February 2007 02:50 AM

Personally, I don't see the problem with more H/\L.
They're just arranging.

emi♡ 1st February 2007 02:51 AM

i know...wheres...CMKJ...CMJK whatever...he was awesome. He should have won in the pentadecathalon...but anyways...

Thanks for posting!

ImpactBreaker 1st February 2007 02:53 AM

H/\L has done a great share of fantastic song arrangements for ayu. ;)

midnightispure 1st February 2007 02:54 AM

Arranging is a BIG part of the song. I mean, its basically a HUGE chunk of the song..what instruments you hear, and how they flow together. HAL is just..not inventive at all in that department, they've done so many things for Ayu now it sounds like she's done them all. Blaring rock songs, the almost identical Kaleidoscope/Labyrinth, BLUE BIRD, etc. Not to say those songs are bad, (because I liked those songs) but we've heard it before. I wish someone like tasuku or especially HIKARI was arranging, because they are actually interesting. (ie - Secret, the song. Refreshing.)

Ani_C 1st February 2007 02:56 AM

We'll just have to see how it turns out eh? ^^

Jeanette 1st February 2007 02:56 AM

Thanks for the news. I love HAL's mixes. I hope to hear the new song soon.

truehappiness 1st February 2007 02:58 AM

CMJK doesn't do her single songs too much, at least, I don't think.

Quote:

Compositions:
opening Run
everlasting dream
Over
Catcher In The Light
Are You Wake Up?
Not yet
until that Day..

Arrangements:
A LOT. LOL
And to this:

tasuku does TONS of stuff for Ayu. This is just one song. I'd say that H/\L will probably make a really good song this time :]
And sometimes, I think the composer has a lot of say in the kind of sound they want their composition to have [i.e Beautiful Fighters and Kazuhito Kikuchi, who I never would've thought to compose the song..]

Ayumiko 1st February 2007 03:10 AM

Tetsuya Yukumi + HAL...is not that bad...

songs with both of them together as composer and arranger:
-momentum
-inspire
-angel's song
-HONEY

I would love to see Tetsuya Yukumi and HIKARI again

Delirium-Zer0 1st February 2007 03:57 AM

HAL are very hit-or-miss with me... either it's an overly poppy song that I can't stand (AUDIENCE, the original mix of Fly high, HONEY), or it's a more rock-based or ambient heavy track that I adore. Nothing in between with me really. So, we'll see what happens.

The pairing of Tetsuya Yukumi & HAL also is hit-or-miss. Like those songs you just listed... I LOVE momentum and INSPIRE, but ANGEL'S SONG and HONEY I always skip over, always always always.

I have high hopes for this song because it's on BLACK though so. *keeps fingers crossed*

Oh, and the japanese text also says that it's a medium-tempo ballad. So maybe it'll sound like a cross between Memorial address and like, "Far away" or something? That would be really nice.

truehappiness 1st February 2007 04:15 AM

Mid-tempo ballad for some reason makes me think of No way to say or momentum..

Ayumiko 1st February 2007 04:17 AM

mid-tempo ballad? Im also hoping it will be good too. If ayu chooses that song to promote the album, it better be good!

truehappiness 1st February 2007 04:17 AM

Well, she has to. There's no other way to promote, unless she does minimedleys of new versions of old songs..

AyuGAME 1st February 2007 04:31 AM

cant wait to hear it

ALPHY 1st February 2007 04:33 AM

Thanks for the news! :)

Delirium-Zer0 1st February 2007 06:17 AM

Here's a better translation of it...

(I'm not fluent in Japanese, and she uses alot of girly colloquialisms that I didn't understand, but that's the basic gist of it. Dictionary was used less here than usual, so i'm open to corrections from the likes of masa & evolusean :P)

LacusClyne 1st February 2007 06:32 AM

yay! a ballads, i'm so looking forward to it

Well, she could just perform the old songs, since it is a hits album. That's what she did w/ A Best - she performed A Song For Xx

[taskin.ayu] 1st February 2007 07:21 AM

What songs has H/\L arranged? O_O

Ayumiko 1st February 2007 07:50 AM

Lets see...HAL arranged:

Introduction of loveppears
Fly high
immature
appears
Far away
SURREAL
AUDIENCE
UNITE!
evolution
M
WE WISH
Free & Easy
Dolls
ANGEL'S SONG
Greatful days

No way to say
GAME
my name's WOMEN
Kaleidoscope

HONEY
Replace
is this LOVE?
fairyland
1 LOVE
LABYRINTH
momentum
BLUE BIRD

sound 1st February 2007 07:56 AM

Thanks for the new, I want to listen it !!

Tasked 1st February 2007 08:14 AM

well; H/\L has always been good for Ayu; and tetsuya composed some of the nicest ayu-songs.. I don't see a problem.. except the fact that it's probably not a really 'refreshing' new genre or anything.

I don't mind the use of Hal or Tetsuya. But looking at the list of songs HAL has arranged, I definitely think their stronger works were in the first half of Ayu's career. None of the songs they have done recently are bad or anything, but they are sounding a bit stale I think. More so than bringing in new composers, I wish Ayu would try a few new arrangers - it could really bring a new perspective to her songs.

bluegie 1st February 2007 08:58 AM

I agree. If she invites some new arrangers, I'm sure we can hear some new tunes.

Kodayumi 1st February 2007 09:04 AM

bah, thanks for this. :D

Ayu said it was fun recording the song, i hope it's not a cheesy song xD

ayu1m 1st February 2007 10:47 AM

Yea, another ballad, I'm happy :b thx for posting.

shippo 1st February 2007 10:54 AM

This akane always make this thing unattractive... :(

truehappiness 1st February 2007 10:57 AM

They do it so that the credit is given to them.

It's not like it's unreadable anyway.

simonlau 1st February 2007 11:01 AM

H/\L did good job
at least for Daybreak 2000H/\L remix

Dustie 1st February 2007 11:08 AM

^ ROTFL at your signature XDDD

Somehow I'm becoming curious of the new song. That's pretty bad. It's still a month left until the A BEST... don't want to be impatient.

I like HALs songs, despite they get worn off pretty quickly...

alternarist 1st February 2007 11:35 AM

haha regardless of the arranger/composer.. its a good thing that there is a new song! :D

Raleigh 1st February 2007 12:00 PM

Thanks for the news zeo.

extepan 1st February 2007 12:38 PM

Mirai Noah 1st February 2007 04:57 PM

Thanks for the info! I look forward to hearing the new song!

Delirium-Zer0 1st February 2007 07:24 PM

simonlau: I didn't understand the "SUMASUMA" katakana :P Never been a smap fan, is that like a fan nickname for them? Does this mean she's doing Love Love Aishteru today? Still confused... should I just edit my post to say "SMAP SMAP recording"?

immel 1st February 2007 07:47 PM

Looking forward to hearing it, I don't care very much about who arranged or composed it, the final result is more important.

YuriChan 1st February 2007 08:29 PM

I would like to hear it too. ^_^ (Hopefully, it's a ballad like HEAVEN! :D)

Delirium-Zer0 2nd February 2007 12:24 AM

I think it'll be closest in sound to No way to say... hopefully. I dunno, speculation speculation... gah! I can't wait any longer! *dies*

Eigakan 2nd February 2007 12:45 AM

nice to hear the song is not going to be another tragic ballad

yatsuda 2nd February 2007 01:09 AM

It's been a long while since Ayu's appeared on the SMAP X SMAP show!!! I'm looking forward to this!!! I guess she'll be advertising like crazy, meaning lots of TV appearances!! Yay!!

Coelacanth 2nd February 2007 01:42 AM

Keeping my expectations low for this one.

~Matt~ 2nd February 2007 02:37 AM

Snickers 6th February 2007 10:45 AM

I can't wait for the new song but I don't really mind who's arranging it ^^' it's the finall effect that counts right?

whish she did new songs for both albums...but well, we must be pleased with what we get :P

ayu_ready? 6th February 2007 11:01 AM

I like H/\L but dislike Tetsuya
