Well, I'm so happy for her, even though she didn't get the most prestigous category of the night, which is the Artist of the Year. She didn't sell so much records recently so she didn't get the award. But I'm so happy for her.

The Artist of the Year award goes to Koda Kumi again I think. 2 consecutive years. She sold many records last year, so she deserve it.

Come to think of it, The Japan Gold Disc Awards is very similar to the USA's Billboard Music Awards. Both ceremony share the same root, all the winners are chosen based on the performance on the Billboard for USA, and Oricon for Japan, sales record and popularity too. Who sell the most records wins.

Well, It doesn't matter anymore. Ayu had won the Artist of the Year 3 times during back then. But still, I'm so happy for her.

CHAS AYU, I wonder what was the another award she receive?, because I think she just won an award with two of her 2006 albums.

I'm kinda suprised Ayaka got #1, her album feels sor tof flat to me (except midazuki). I guess it was b/c her debut album sold so well?

The list is in alphabetical order. There is no 'real' order. All that we know is that Kobukuro is #1 since if I'm not mistaken, they took the 'Album of the Year' award.

Sorry, I should've made it clear that it was alphabetical order through hiragana... but for a Japanese site, I think it's obvious they are going to use the Japanese "alphabet".

Anywho, this list is kinda of crummy. There are so many better albums out there. I honestly don't think a BEST album should be #1 for a music award, but it is the RAIJ...

Well it's just based on sales. So really, it's the RIAJ's top 10 best sellers for 2006...

I wonder how Secret and HORIZON made the list in that case.

Have no idea. I don't even know how EXILE's "ASIA" got in.
