Kuu ripping off the ***** Cat Dolls?

I'm listening to Tsuki to Taiyou by Koda Kumi right now. I always thought they sounded similar, but after listening to both of them at the same time, i have to say, it REALLY seems like Kuu "borrowed" heavily from the PCD's Stickwitu for this song. Has anyone else noticed this?

DerrickRocks 3rd April 2007 01:55 AM

^ not really. Others may think differently but then many R&B songs sound alike

AyumiSEASONS 3rd April 2007 03:34 AM

Not really. Tsuki To Taiyou has less R & B. It just seems like a plain ballad to me. Stickwitu is good too though. xD but it's more R & B, and it has more depth to it, it has alot more R & B elements and more vocal range.

Psychotic_X 3rd April 2007 07:20 AM

errr....

TeamAyu 3rd April 2007 08:57 AM

Wow that is one stretched comparison, I don't think Tsuki to Taiyo sounds like "Stickwitu" at all. I wish it did though haha because "Stickwitu" is definitely a better song.

Kodayumi 3rd April 2007 09:35 AM

think not...Kumi is original :D

~X2RADialbomber~ 3rd April 2007 09:52 AM

Ummm these songs sound totally different?

kiseki89 3rd April 2007 09:54 AM

No way. Stickwitu is SO much nicer!

Weslicious 3rd April 2007 10:09 AM

Nu uh. Completely different. Sidenote, do those drop noises in to Taiyou make anybody else think they need the toilet? Or am I just strange ::laugh

However BoA's Revolution-code:1986-1105 Feat.RAH-D vs. The Pussycat Dolls Bite The Dust. There's a comparison.

LOL, thats hilarious i dont think it had that effect on me

chocopockymaster 3rd April 2007 12:49 PM

Completely exaggerated.

Psychotic_X 3rd April 2007 12:50 PM

^ you're telling me!

DerrickRocks 3rd April 2007 01:05 PM

^ lol someones always trying to find ways to bash Kuu, but it never works out the way they want it to lol

Peger 3rd April 2007 03:15 PM

I'm not trying to find a way to bash Kuu, i like her. There's no need to get so defensive, the songs just sound really similar to me.

stickyrice 3rd April 2007 06:01 PM

don't compare the awesomeness of "stickwitu" to "tsuki to taiyou"! as much as I love tsuki to taiyou (and the only Black Cherry song I can actually tolerate), stickwitu is just way better and the only PCD song that I like :yes

Ayumiko 4th April 2007 01:36 AM

The only similarity I find is theyre both slow songs....thats pretty much it. They sound different. stickwitu is a good song too.

oh that water dropping sound from Tsuki to Taiyou kinda feels like someone was trying to go pee but theyre having trouble...haha

Beauty4123 4th April 2007 03:35 AM

their both the same kind of style of song, which is RnB i guess. they all probbably sound alike cuz they're slow songs. but there's really no similarities.

i liked tsuki to taiyou better though. i got tired of stick wit u a long time ago, lol.

slashess 4th April 2007 04:56 AM

lol i like how the forum censors their name even though it's not a bad word in this case :P

elepop 4th April 2007 01:47 PM

Nope.

And both are bad. LOL.

BoA's "Prayer" vs Nelly Furtado "Maneater" now THAT is a comparison! :o

JesA 7th April 2007 06:00 AM

^ oohh i love Maneater! and i dont see much similarity..Tsuki to Taiyou is so much better...im a huge PCD fan, and i really dont like Stickwitu...

slashess 7th April 2007 06:13 AM

Well...I'm not sure Kuu rips off of PCD because I dunno if she comes to america and steals ideas (keep in mind this is an opinion so I'm not saying she doesn't either lolz ^^')

Cloud 9th April 2007 06:03 PM

I always feel that "Get It On" is similiar to "Buttons"

panda87 9th April 2007 07:02 PM

BUT is like the female version of SexyBack... sometimes I almost mistake them two if the voice isn't there. it's hard to tell them apart, for me that is.

Psychotic_X 10th April 2007 06:57 AM

^ my sisters like "is this like a Japanese version of Sexyback?"...
and she asked if BoA's Lady Galaxy was a Japanese version of My Humps..

alt.total-loser 10th April 2007 07:02 AM

Lady Galaxy being the Japanese vers. of My Humps...

LOLZ

Seriously. That's funny.

Vinylfantasy 10th April 2007 07:20 AM

I think it's quite a stretch to make that comparison.

Now that's a fair comparison imo. I was watching a basketball game and "My Humps" started playing - I thought it was "Lady Galaxy".

panda87 11th April 2007 03:05 AM

ok, i think we should just stop comparing and complaining who's ripping of who because it HAPPENS ALL THE TIME... just like Jessica Simpson's "I think i'm in love" was JUST LIKE J. Mellancamp's one song... (i forget). people like to experiment with sounds they hear. it's human to want to take something into your own hands and just do your thing with it. who cares anymore. let's just enjoy their touches to certain beats and rythms.

cool_kickin_dude 13th April 2007 06:05 PM

true, let's let it go and just love being their fans:D

MemorialAddress 19th April 2007 06:33 PM

You're delusional
