^I'm pretty sure that the a stands for avex. I always thought that a-nation was like a huge summer concert that avex planned for ayu to have (it started in 2002 right?) but instead they chose the Stadium Tour and put all the artists into a-nation

about ayu performs last, i think because the best always comes last, and ayu is definitely the best in AVEX!

Koda Kumi's name is usually in all caps. Why though, I don't know.

Probably because they rarely advertise using the romanized version of her name.

I've noticed ayu's name is in all lower case letters on a lot of her CDs.

^That's how it normally is romanized. Much like Ayu and Ai's names are usually romanized in all lower case.

And apparently Ami's is romanized the western way.

IMO Kumi's name looks cool in all caps. Probably because both parts are so short and boxy.

I'm going to be in Japan during A-Nation, so it was my plan to go.
But the locations are not working for me... I'll be in Sendai on August 8th, so I miss that performance. I leave for America on the 24th, so I'll miss the Tokyo performances...

I think the closest one for me would be the Gunma performances. I'll try to get there somehow!

I wonder if there's some sort fo rule for romanizing things in caps/lowercase. There must be some reason why they do it for certain names and not others.

NO..it's not strange at all...they should give chance to other places of Japan too...and there are lots of people from Shikoku/Ehime who like Ayu/Koda Kumi too...:) And i like it that they always change venues every year...but of course Tokyo is a MUST for them!lol

Btw I just recalled back that my friend had told me that he had took part in A NATION 2005 before at Oita!And he saw ayu!:mischief :irked

just to say to the ppl planning on going just set a day, its the easiest thing to get to the place, thats no worry, shinkansen is super fast (i went from Okayama to Osaka last weekend, by car it takes me 4 hours, it took me 38 minutes by bullet-train, so there you go.
i think i won't be in Japan anymore bu then :( maybe i can see one show...no idea

hmm no...i had friends living in some of the prefectures from shikoku...and there are lots of teenager/youngsters over there(a lot of them like kuu and ayu too)...and I'm sure with the large amount of people in Shikoku(4 prefectures),it can definately fill up the A Nation in Ehime...and not every A Nation has huge venue like the one at Tokyo.Well let's wait and see.:P

Shikoku has enough people to warrant attention; it's certainly more dense than Hokkaido is.

No, the concert exist to promote AVEX artists. At the time, Ayu was the biggest artist in Japan and she was by far the biggest in AVEX, this days it isn't like that anymore but she's still the last one because it's a tradition and because she made so much for AVEX, so I guess she'll always be the main attraction.

You're right on that one, but Hokkaido has Sapporo which I think is larger than the major cities on Shikoku.

I guess it does depend on the size of the venue.

Namie never performs in a-nation, and she'll be exhausted from her tour (if she isn't still on her tour by then). Also, I think it's rumored Namie doesn't perform at a-nation because of Sam from TRF, her ex husband.

Namie doesnt perform on A Nation for some reasons, the main one is because she isn't Avex only and she decided not to join any events about Avex or Vision Factory 'cause she is half/half. Ayu performs last because she is one of the holders of the event, they made it with some of her money.

SAM is one of the main guys who like help stage her tours, it's definately not that.

As for Namie, the reason could be what Alessia_Tateno said, or it could be in fact that Vision makes her not go, just like how JE doesn't like V6 and TxT go.

Last year, Flow and some other artists guest appeared I think.

In a-nation, there are the main artists, surprise artists, opening acts and power stage artists. T.M revolution is one of the surprise artists, that is why he is there, regardless of not being an avex artist. Meanwhile, all the main acts are a part of avex trax. I doubt T.M is in all a-nations since he isn't a main act (but i'm not sure). Surprise artists, just like the main acts don't all perform on the same days, everyone has their own certain dates ^^
