Just like what perez hilton do often... What nickname should we give to our beloved ayu after she marry???

Doubt she'll change her surname. Hamasaki is too much of a famous surname to end up being changed.

I'm pretty sure she'll change it legally, although I doubt she'll use the name when she's releasing music - kind of like Utada Hikaru really.

Ayumi hamasaki is more of a brand, I don't think it will matter if she changes her name legally or not, she'll always perform as ayumi hamasaki.

Maybe her bf should be the one changing. Not sure about the Japanese tradition. For sure there'll be new nick, no doubt. Ayuma? Sounds like Akuma, haha. But if possible, let it still be Ayumi Hamasaki coz I think 99% of the people around here (us/we) will still remember that name even if we have some serious amnesia =)

I honestly hope that she doesn't change her name, but whatever. I highly doubt she would change her stage name. I can't recall any other J-pop stars I know of who did.

And I don't think it's the law that a woman has to change her name, is it? Just tradition. Personally I think it's silly, but I'll stop there. =P

lol....Ayumi Nagase sounds ugly to me too...Nagase sounds like a girl name for some reason. I think ayu will keep her last name for her work.

Nagase Ayumi sounds better than Ayumi Nagase. :3 but i think she'll keep the Hamasaki, for her music career. like everyone said, her name is really important in the music industry and i don't think the public will ever get used to the name "Nagase Ayumi".

but, as for a nickname, i think just plain old "Ayu" would be good.

lol i'd still call her "ayumi hamasaki, "ayu", or "ayumi". and i'm sure her stage name would still be ayumi hamasaki if she gets married. but her marriage name would probbably be her husband's last name.

spanish people doesn't change their surnames when they get married... >_< everyone has two surnames, their father first surname and then mother first surname!! and there's no other...

also it is legal to change the order of the surnames...

Ayunaga, was what I came up with, but I can't see myself saying that anytime soon in reference to Ayu. I'll just keep calling her "Ayumi" or "Ayu".

In Japan, there is no tradition of taking your husband's name as in America. Remember: it's an entirely different culture, peeps. You can have your name legally changed if you wish, but it isn't the norm, and not a part of the marriage process.
