How much do you think Namie Amuro's new album "PLAY" will sale?

I'm thinking anywhere between 500k-550k:D

Hoping for more though.

400k to 500k. Honestly if album sales didn't suck so much this year, I think it could have gone over 500k. However, I think PLAY has a good shot at the weekly #1, so it kind of balances it out.

I hope for 800+ ^^ QOHP sold double of Style so.. *_*

I'm going to be cautious and say 300-400k, but I hope I'll be proved wrong and PLAY sells 400k+.

Probably a little bit more than Mika's YES. But less than Angela Aki's HOME.

I'm hoping for a miracle of 1,000,000 :P

i just don't think it's as good as QOHP.

500,000-600,000 being a safe guess but I think it could possibly sell a bit more.

I though BDC was mediocre and look what happend to that.

Most people loved Baby Don't Cry though.

Her other single tracks kinda sounded the same beside BDC, however..

500k to 600k.

i think PLAY will sell more than QoHP because of BDC's success.

500-600K... I really don't see her getting anymore than that.

500,000-600,000 is the absolute most I could see it selling. I think it would probably be crazy to expect any more with Japan's current music industry. I hope it sells in this range though because it has great singles, but it may just end up getting 300k-400k, which isn't too bad either. Still, downloads will probably be good.

i dont think it can much surpass 600k, so i will go for 500k-600k.

I say 800,000, there has been a recent Amuro Boom again in Japan and everyone is really liking the new songs and all.

why she can sell this much: coz she hasnt released for 2 years and people are hyped bout this

why she cant sell more: the material is so fresh and new...people need to get to used to it..esp. those who rarely listen to western music

^Ummm well... I think it will go against her because as you see namie started with actual hip-pop syle songs with Style album which is her lowest selling album... and the album that was released before that was Break The Rules 3 years before (unless if you mention Love Enhanced which is a compilation)...
So I think it might be the same here =\...

Everyone is aiming way too high I think, there is no way the album will be over 450k. I predict 300-450k. LOL @ the votes over 600k. :thud

Why? Queen of Hip Pop sold more than 450k...all her studio albums did except Style and Break the Rules

I agree, as Angela Aki's HOME was an enormous hit last year and sold almost 525k. This probably won't be that big, so I'm thinking it will be around 400k. At least I'm hoping for that. The industry has really gone down lately due to downloading, so it especially saddens me to see people in this and the Namie thread hoping for it to sell well when some of them aren't even going to buy it themselves :(

It's really too bad this album won't sell more. The best original album to come out this year, personally.

Wow, Namie Amuro releases both the best single of the year (Baby Don't Cry) and the best album. She's my artist of the year so far :D

^For me it's ayu's new single as the best single of the year (unless she'll have a better one), then it's kumi's BUT/aishou and then Baby Don't Cry, it's a really good single ^_^.

I want to hope it will sell well ^^ Actually around me a lot of people that didnt know her before is going to buy the album (I bought 4 copies, 1 for me, 1 for my sis and 2 for my friends), so I think it will sell *__*

Baby Don't Cry and BUT are the best singles of the year (Freaky too) but Glitter is so repetitive -.- too much like blue bird XD

Thank you! I completely agree with you about glitter. Baby Don't Cry is definitely the best single this year too, however, I would personally include Flavor of Life as second though. Freaky would probably be third.

150k-180k first week, 300k-400k in the long run :D with CD sales dropping, i feel that this would be the more reasonable range :P

it'll sell less than 500 000, at most around 400 000.

Now a 1 mil is wish full thinking unless it's a Best album so I put 500,000 - 600,000. But I guess we also have to see what the debuting sales are too

PLAY comes out today in Japan I suppose we will get the daily sale figures soon, we can determine if PLAY's sales will be 500k-600k which is what most you all selected ^u^

We'll get thr 1st day sales Wednesday morning (in NY)

PLAY sold 80,000 copies with in the first day! I think She could have a good chance of selling 200,000-300,000 cpoies in the first week!

I still stay with 400,000-500,000 as I voted.
I give it maximum of 580,000 with a miracle.

I think she'll just barely get 500,000

Well with the First week sales whipping QoHP's. I'm now alot more confident it will reach my prediction of 500 000 - 600 000

I would love for Namie to reach 700,000 but that is a bit much. I would say now judging from the first week sales of 251,000 she sell 500k-600k.

Queen of Hip Pop had a 2nd week sales of 90k. I think PLAY will sell 115k next week easily.

After seeing the first week sales
I say 400,000-580,000 tops.

(I chose 400,000-500,000 but anyway) xD
