JMusic Releases that Disappoint You the Most
J-Pop Releases (Single/Albums) that Disappoint You the Most |
For Me~~
Mika Nakashima's latest album YES | that disappoints me the most. Almost all the tracks inside are flat and forgettable. BoA - Made In Twenty | I have a strong dislike for this album. I want BoA to try different things with her music but not this. Outgrow was a lil' better , at leat i like more tracks LOL. This was definitely worse. Here's to hoping that her new album doesn't stink. PLAY - Namie Amuro | Jesus i don't have words to say how I hate this album. I am not such a fan of her but I love the last releases Baby dont cry and Funky Town. Queen Of Hip Hop is great and CSCEIM Is amazing too!!! But PLAY ...Jeex! I just love the songs from singles and Hide&Seek. I really hate and i though she can do better. |
Ayumi Hamasaki~ MY STORY.
I can't even describe how much I hated this album =/ It was so boring. I think the only track I listen to is Moments :S Miyavi~ MYV-ISM Another REALLY boring and bland album =/ |
I think the only release ever that I was disappointed with was BOld&Delicious. Other than that I don't really care. Artists WILL release things you don't like (allthough it hardly happens with ayumi and a coupld of others) so why bother?
|
Namie Amuro - PLAY
Maybe I haven't warmed up to it yet, but I don't like it as much as QoHP. All of those songs were dancable and catchy. PLAY's tracks on the other had...lack something. The only track that a really go 'WOW' at was the SPICY remix of Violet Sauce. The guitars were amazing and I always hear it turned up loud! Koda Kumi - Black Cherry None of the songs didn't seem to catch my attention to be honest. My favorite album is still 'secret' from her. However her latest singles are quite good and catchy, so maybe there'll be a better album this year! <3 |
"glitter / fated" by Ayumi Hamasaki - Waited 13 months for a new single and THIS is what we get!?! pfft ¬_¬
|
Koda Kumi - Black Cherry
Seriously I don't know how this album got to sell 1 million. If there was an album which deserved 1 million, it's secret [Kumi's album]. It's too mediocre and the album tracks sounded like they recorded them at the last second. BoA - Make a Secret One of the worst singles in history, although lately her non-ballad singles really suck. With a mid-tempo song and a boring pv, this single really marked her downward movement towards slower and more tedious songs. I wish BoA would quit this mellow phase. She's seriously getting everyone bored of her. |

I second that. |
Koda Kumi - FREAKY
I agree. The single pics are too lovely. But the single is totally sucks. FREAKY is a horrible song. Sora is horrible. Run For Your Life seemed to be nice, but is obnoxious excessively to me. girls is idiot, but is the better for the single. Koda Kumi - BUT / Aishou I wasn't wait for this. BUT is obnoxious. And Aishou is too repetitive and idiot. Koda Kumi - Black Cherry Excluiding Yume no Uta single tracks, I really love all single tracks. But the album tracks are too stupid and seems made to make an album for sales. Horrible! BoA - MADE IN TWENTY All single tracks are idiot. All album tracks are idiot. No more words. Ayumi Hamasaki - A BEST 2 I was waited for two new songs are recordings of all songs. |
For me...
L'Arc~en~Ciel: SEVENTH HEAVEN - It's been like a hundred years since their last single, so of course I was damn excited and I was sure this would blow me away. But it really didn't. As for the title track, I don't hate it, but I don't like it with the disco tune either. HONEY 2007 was great though, but I got bored with it already :/ I was really disappointed. I really hope the next single will be something great... Ai Otsuka: All singles after Frienger - I has been one of my favourite artists, but after LOVE COOK I've been excited with every single release like "yes yes yes... no." The songs are not bad, they just have nothing new. I've actually given up already. I've only listened the new single once :/ Please Ai, go back to original, quality music! That's all I can think of for now. |
^
I'm actually also one of the "fallen" fans of Ai. hehe, but it's not that she disappoints me, I just loose interest when she makes boring songs. I still think her first album is the greatest and I have almost totally lost interest since Planetarium. I don't even remember the name of her latest single. O.o |
^ Ah same here. I love Ai but lately her releases have become too similar and too mellow for my tastes. I used to collect every single release of hers but lately nothing is attracting my attention. It's a shame since Ai-chin is such an awesome personality.

Like *Petit*, I know I can't like everything but I just don't care. However, I just cannot stand Bold & Delicious:dead
Dull covers, boring PVs and atrocious songs, very painful to listen to |
Ai Otsuka - Everything after Frienger did suck. CHU-LIP was strangely addicting, but wtf happened to your amazing ballads?
Koda Kumi - BUT/Aisho I loved...and then you released that crap FREAKY. Wtf? The title song was the only good song. PLEASE. PLEASE. Go back to making the secret-era ballads. They were so beautiful. PLEASE go back to BEST ~FT~ AND ~SS~! mink - I really loved you at first, but after Shalom I haven't listened to anything. x-x that was like a best album and that was it. |

Anyway. BoA - OUTGROW This album... just really bores me. I had only heard Everlasting before the album's release so I was all... excited, I guess. And then thought it was just boring. =/ Only a few memorable tracks. Meh. I was listening to it again earlier today and had to stop halfway through. *sigh* Koda Kumi - Cherry Girl / Unmei Been getting all these great singles, and then this suckage comes out. /Great/ job, Kuu. =D Going away now. |
BoA - Made in 20: seriously, WTF?!?!
Namie - Funky Town: Amazing covers but the song was horrific... I'm so happy the rest of the songs on the album were good and amazing. |
ayumi hamasaki - RAINBOW
At the time, it really was a disappointment because it was so different from her previous works. I stopped listening to her until Memorial address, which rekindled my appreciation for ayumi, and I also grew to love RAINBOW shortly afterwards. Utada Hikaru - Boku wa Kuma I know it's for a children's show, but it's just too childish and unexpected. It's the only song I don't have of hers and I often forget that it's even part of her discography. |
Well guess it's my turn. I only have a couple though:
Kumi Koda - BLACK CHERRY Like others have said, this album was just...what? I LOVED most of the single songs, so I was really excited for this album. But, the album tracks are rather bland, save a couple...and then to top it all off, like so many of Kumi's albums suffer from, the tracklisting is so all over the place and random. I only like to listen to select songs from it now and then, but rarely as a whole album. Gackt - Na no ni whatever whatever. Gackt, srsly. It was like a whole year since your last actual single. I KNOW you love your ballads, boy, and I KNOW you've gotten addicted to your nasal voice, but wtf, mate? The only thing worse than the actual song on this single was the fact that it had to be done over about four more times...in a row. Ouch. Good to listen to the original ballad once in a while, but please don't make any more before your next album. Please? That's all I can really think of for now. I might think of others later. |
Almost everything in 2007.
Koda Kumi - Black Cherry & FREAKY. Everyone knows why. Namie Amuro - PLAY. Due to the lackluster album tracks. Mika Nakashima - YES. Ew. Ew. Ew. Mika gives Gospel music a bad name. Really. BoA - Key of Heart + Made in Twenty. What twenty? Twenty minutes? Well, it does sounds like it was made in twenty minutes. For a big fan of OUTGROW and Girls on Top, this is really a disgrace to her discography. Aside from SO REAL, everything is just...omg. I can't even describe it without breaking AHS rules. Ayumi Hamasaki - glitter/fated. The always-innovative J-Pop queen once again recycle her old materials. Been disappointed by BLUE BIRD, a.k.a. fairyland ~episode 876243205~, now she's back with "glitter". Ew. Thankfully "fated" saved the single for me. |

FREAKY by Koda Kumi. It wasn't bad at all. But the only song that really caught my attention was FREAKY. Boku Wa Kuma By HIKKI. ew. Flavor of Life by Hikki I wasn't interested. At all. Not for any of the versions. |

^BLASPHEMY. Kiidddiiinnnn. About Boku Wa Kuma...I like it...but its not my fav. =) |

Namie Amuro - PLAY
Oh God. So poor album tracks. And I'd love to know why are ppl crazy about Hide & Seek. The opening is awesome, yes.. but then? Some simple japanese-ish old-game-like computer sounds, easy unoriginal refrain.. oh well. And Hello.. I can't describe with words how annoying is the phone sound after every "hello". Gackt - latest work Well, I don't understand Gackt anymore. I think he's on another level. miyavi - latest work Meev used to be very cool and fresh. Not anymore in my eyes. |
nothing really ever diappoints me, actually. i basically like everything? lol. but umm..maybe hitomi shimatani's neva eva single was a bit disappointing? i dunno. can't decide.
|

well except YES. i like that album, alotzz. :/ but chyah, glitter / fated is shite-stick-els, but i think fated is worse that glitter. tbh plz. umm.. 2007 has been dullllllll. i find myself listening to 2004 / 2005 / 2006 music. A LOT. |
Shimatani Hitomi - Neva Eva
prolly the worst piece of crap i've heard in my life, i've already stated in many places why i dont like this song, Amuro Namie - Play Yuck... only liked two songs from the WHOLE album, the lyrics of most of the songs are stupid and repetitive i was going to list BoA, but i dont expect anything good from her, so i'm not disappointed at all XDDD Nakashima Mika - YES just utter crap :puke AYAKA - First messege How could this album sold more than 3 copies?, this album is totally flat, tasteless and all the songs are the same, yeah AYAKA is talented and interesting, her album is not. Quote:
|
Koda Kumi - every release after 'feel'. it's just....really bad.
OLIVIA - The Cloudy Dreamer...it's just not emo enough for me. I want more Blind Unicorn's! BoA - Sweet Impact. I personally liked MIT(20), loved OUTGROW. what happened!? Sweet Impact was just a mess. |
why doesn't anyone like yes??? and play???
ai otsuka's PEACH/HEART. it's her like, 500th single already? where's her new album? (i like peach, but the pv is like...yea...haven't listened to heart, but they way it's being advertised, i'm prolly gonna be disappointed) kuu's black cherry: it's a nice album, but none of the songs (save singles and get up & move) are forgettable...plus, what's up with that random shin-chan song?! and i hated the black cherry version of won't be long hikki's boku wa kuma: cute, but why was this released again? hikki's distance: this is teh only hikki album that i don't have (not including the singles collection), and i don't plan on getting it. the songs were kinda...ew. the singles were ok, but i mean, it wasn't as memorable as deep river or ultra blue yuna ito heart: i heard her first few singles and i thought that it was nice and stuff. then her album came out. most (if not all) of the album tracks are THE SAME. THE. SAME. i was really disappointed ='( mink's shalom: i love it and all, but to call it her fist 'original' album is a misnomer (i mean, it's more of a best than an 'original' album, even though i know they mean original songs, as in no covers) and finally: AYU'S NEW SINGLE: omg, we wait more than a year and this is what she releases? glitter's a typical summer song (SOMEONE KILL HER COMPOSER AND BRING ON THE CREA). fated is kinda iffy for me...it's good but the arrangement could use some spiffying up. and secret. there's already an album with secret on it. the best they could do is at least remix it a LITTLE |
Ayu's 'glitter/fated': What disappoints me is the fact that I'm convinced she can do better and she simply refuses to. The new single seems so lazy and uninspired.
post LOVE COOK - Ai: frienger, what the ****?! the rest just blends into on bunch of 20 neverending singles. Koda: FREAKY. BUT got me hooked up and I was really planning on giving her a chance. Well, blown I'd say.. and not the good way! the last shimantani album (what was that called?): no comment + neva eva (what the?) :-/ |
AYAKA - First message : The singles were interesting but the album tracks were generic and boring IMO. Plus, I don't think her vocals were specially good. They were kind of average.
|
ayu - miss(Understood)
bad cover, uninspiring songs and poor promotion |
Ayumi Hamasaki- Everything after Memorial Address. lame.
|
I'm generally open to music a lot!...I hated Namie's old music now I love it, I hated Play the first time but now I'm in love with it...so basically any release I've ever heard for example Depend On You which I used to think was one of Ayu's WORST songs ever I turned out to enjoy. So...I don't really have any release I dislike...I hated Glitter a week ago...but I listen to it more than Fated...and I'm more of a ballad person when it comes to Ayu.
|
Hi-five to everyone that says ayaka's First Message was bland. So true.
|
^ That's why it sold so well because it was bland and ballads.
|
I love some of Koda Kumi's stuff, but FREAKY and BUT/Aishou were awful imo. Her album BLACK CHERRY also was a major bomb, I only liked two songs off the entire thing.
Also, I'm not a fan of Mika Nakashima's THE END. I prefer her softer ballads and jazzy songs, the rock stuff isn't doing it for me. |
Koda Kumi - FREAKY (THE WHOLE SINGLE) >.> I've never been dissapointed by Ku until now. *Sigh*
Ayu - Glitter - I haven't herd fated yet...I'm hoping its decent. The CD covers are HORRIBLE too.. Kira*Pika - hana wo PUN - I freaking love Koharu but this is just a JOKE. |
