What Ayu Era do you like?
 

I like Ayu's Duty Era, A Song for XX Era, and LoveAppears Era.

I honestly like Ayu's old songs. She has a whole lot of meaning to them, but I notice that her songs now are really different from before. Of course, she's growing up and songs don't always stay the same, but her songs now don't have as much meaning as before. ><' Hard to explain.

But overall, I just know that they're really different. Some songs have meaning, some just sounds cool/good, and others are kinda meaningless. Sorry, if that was harsh. Haha, I like her too, you guys! But yeah...I was just saying.

Er- and it's just my own personal opinion. So, don't take it to the heart or anything. Haha. And don't kill me. ^^'


Anyhoo, what era do you guys like?

^ I totally agree with you about Ayu losing meaning in some of her more recent songs ;-; sometimes I just love going back and reading her older lyrics, they're so inspiring and relatable!! Not to say that her newer lyrics are bad, they're just really different~

My fave Ayu eras are Duty up 'till Memorial address. Her lyrics and songs were great and she was always experimenting with new styles~ Even though I only became an Ayu fan last year, most of my fave songs are from those eras xD I also loved her fashion in those times too - she was the cutest thing ever ><;

I can tell that in years / concerts rather than albums but for me it's since Arena Tour 2003-2004 till the Heaven / Will single.

I like almost everything before that too but her voice was yet too immature and a bit creaking. After B&D she's got too much American stuff into her style but in order to avoid the stop-complaining-get-out-of-here-if-you-don't-like-it bashing I'll just leave it here :]

Memorial address / RAINBOW Eras.

I Am... era. It had a strangely surreal feeling and loved the concepts of the videos, etc.

I like any ayu era actually. :innocent Even though glitter has lame lyrics compared to mosof her songs I still enjoy it. I*d rather have a nice song with bad lyrics than a boring song with good ones.

(miss)understood and Secret era for me. XD I love all her music, but I like her newer songs so much more, even though I've been a fan of hers since I Am....

I really like all of her music but if I had to pick it would be Memorial Address to present!!!! But like I said befor I really like all of her music :love

Rainbow - MY STORY era! My most favourite during that era would be Memorial Address. =)

(miss)understood era for me, especially around fairyland/alterna and Bold&Delicious. For some reason I get really nostalgic and think of really cool summer memories in '05 when I hear fairyland. I remember the spreads from that year were so, so cool.

I love all of ayu's music ^_^ just don't like certain songs, I find meanings in any even if they are fun songs. I love her style change and musical developement.

LOVEppears to RAINBOW, I am... being the peak. It was the deepest, the darkest, and the most conceptual. Also a very active and busy time for Ayu.

i like the BLUE BIRD to Secret era. probbably cuz at that time i started to get into ayu's music.

i dont' think her meaning has been lost a bit...her lyrics still have plenty of meaning just as before i think...she was much more naive and stuff back then. her voice was disgusting i think. I like her current era...actually. Anything after MA i like the most^^. I connect more with her older lyrics though since i'm still young and going through similar stuff...but i still like the current her now.

Pretty much from TO BE to around HEAVEN.

I still like her LOVEppears era up to her Memorial Address album. I miss those days 0_~

The "(miss) understood" era was my favorite. I loved her style then (her hair and clothes).

RAINBOW - Memorial address is awesome. She sang awesome and looked great too, not to mention, awesome songs in that time

I absolutely love the (miss)understood era--2005 was Ayu's golden year in my opinion. All of her performances were dynamite and her voice was OUT OF THIS WORLD! All her lives were perfect~

I also really like the LOVEppears era and the RAINBOW period as well :)

hmmm, probably from "LOVEppears" to "RAINBOW".

Even though I didn't have a clue who Ayu was then, I think she's at her best during these times, her songs had more meanings to them, and she even started composing her own during "I am..." and "RAINBOW", giving the songs that "extra" personal touch.

I love all of ayu's music (just not For My Dear..., I just hate that song so damn much!) but my favorite era would be the M - RAINBOW era (2001-2002). I love her fashion from that era and her voice. It was around then it developed into the voice I now love :D + there was lots and lots of CREA :yes

I am era, until Free & Easy (included) - after Fress & Easy there was a strong change, I have never like ayu like before after that moment...

I like ayu's I am... era cos basically thats when every song she release is a big hit! i particularly like (miss) understood era cos thats when ayu released 4 singles that year after releasing 3 for each of the previous 2 years.. :) ayu travelled to Hawaii and USA so i feel happy for ayu.. :)

I like the I´am and the (miss) Understood era.The songs from this era are the songs I like most

I think just because it's when I discovered Ayumi, but I think RAINBOW/Memorial address VERY closely followed by MY STORY. I know a lot of people weren't too fond of RAINBOW, but I think she had some amazing songs on that album (Heartplace, July 1st, Voyage, Over, independent+) along with everything from Memorial address except No way to say (I have never liked that song).

MY STORY was an incredible album, to me, and flowed very well. In all honesty I haven't liked much anything she's released since HEAVEN, though I will say that 1 LOVE and JEWEL are amazing songs.

Sorry to go a bit OT seeing as how we're talking era's and not albums, but I want to mention that, as far as albums go, I think Secret was one of her worst (except A Song for XX, but I won't get into that... lol)

Hehe...I was reading previous posts before posting and noticed that lot of people actually did like RAINBOW. Hmm...I was under the impression that a lot of people hated it 'cause of how much English she used.:thud

I think for me, the favourite will always be RAINBOW era.
RAINBOW was the first album of ayu I bought, and I like how grown-up and brave she seemed then. I LOVE that HANABI video thingy from the commercial spot, where she stands in the rain and leans on a pillar crying... I wish she'd done a whole PV for that.

I like them all but LOVppears is the best LOL XD shirtles Ayu ;D LOL no kiding the sog were the best =D So unique. I also like missunderstood more than the rest

LOVEppears to I am for me, with Duty and I am being equal top favourite albums for me, we all know I am is a great album, but I think the Duty is often overlooked when it comes to Ayu's music career.

LOVEppears through RAINBOW those were awesome times. :laugh

Secret era and this current era which I call this the post-Nagase breakup era (official name to be determined, because the feature, a studio album, has not been released yet; currently there's "glitter / fated"...).
