[TRANSLATION]Ayu ends her 7-year-old relationship with Nagase
 

Japanese Songstress Ayumi Hamasaki had already broken up with Nagase, the vocallist of TOKIO, a popular JPOP boy band.

According to the local media reports, Ayumi had openly revealed in her personal homepage that the decision of breaking up has already been done by the pair about two or three weeks ago.

"It's quite sudden... I have already broken up with my boyfriend." She said.

At the same age of 28, Ayumi and Nagase met up in 1993 during a drama's shooting. They confirmed their love relationship on September 2001, and near-real news of them getting married was on the air.

They were even spotted by a Japanese tabloid magazine of them holding hands while walking around in Los Angeles on October 2006, hence the magazine predicted their marriage, however Ayumi also stated that both of them had developed some kind of a "family" relationship, much like a brother and a sister.

According to reliable sources, The lovers ended their relationships about 2 or 3 weeks ago, and Ayumi had moved out from Nagase's apartment. Although there were no reasons of the break-up given, speculations ran high about one of them was having a new relationship going on.

Her tone in the online statement was trying hard to stress a peaceful seperation.

"Although we had already broken up, but it has been seven years. we can't just say goodbye to each other and become strangers, we still will keep in touch or having dinner together as usual."

Meanwhile, both artists' agencies had also confirmed the news of the pair's break-up.

Thank you for the translation. So it was decided on earlier.. which could truly explain why during the fated live we saw she looked as if she had been crying recently.. Perhaps, Glitter/Fated really is about her relationship with Nagase.. minus the him dying/getting hurt as seen in fated..
but the wedding dress? the her crying in it and just looking completely devastated (aside from the fact that in the PV her lover dies..) it all could be pointing towards their relationship.. They hid it, they didn't get to see much of each other.. and it ended with her feeling like her love had died (symbolic much?) Considering the rumors of her wedding..?

Even after she stops making new stuff, there will still be people complaining about how much they thing such and such song just sucks.. or how the pv is really lame and doesn't fit.. how she copies Madonna ect ect.. they wont be truly satisfied because its often the same people complaining.

For many people, marriage isn't something necessary in life. I think it was very wise and mature for her and Nagase to realize that they did not want that kind of life together in the end. Maybe Ayu will find somebody else, maybe not. Either way we shouldn't care so long as she is happy.

I agree with you. Completely! I guess people expect some really heart-broken, sad and dark song coming after it. But even if they get it, is it a guarantee(sp?) they'll like it? It's not like:
rock song: everyone loves it
pop song: everyone hates it
ballad: one half loves it, the other hates it
And even if we would get an excellent song dealing with the break up, there is a huge sacrifice behind it. I'd prefer million versions of "fairyland" and "BLUE BIRD" then to think in what pain and sorrow ayu might be now...

Yes surely Ayu will be sad, and I hate to see her like that, but to me, personally, I don't think Nagase is suitable with Ayumi, and vice versa, because firstly both of their fame isn't equal, and secondly Tomoya has history of flirting with other females before.
