A MUSEUM QUESTION!
 

OK, just shoot me if someone asked that before, but I`m too tired to search. 12:42 a.m. x_x
So... I`m asking: A Museum is 30 single collection,right? Well, I`m too lazy to watch the whole thing again so I went on wikipedia and there are 24 songs! And... Why is it 30 single collection if she didn`t sing all of them!? ... not fair :( Counting on you guys to tell me... It has to be a good reason (or not).

I think it's a concert to celebrate the release of her 30th single, forgiveness.

I asked this question once... and some1 said to me: "...becuase 30 songs is a lot" in less or more words lol.

Yeah, that's true. It (unfortunately :P) doesn't mean that Ayumi performed tracks from all 30 singles.

Kinda like how the (miss)understood tour didn't have all the (miss)understood songs?

She doesn`t sing all the time 30 songs, right? Namie sings more songs on a concert than she does.. If she could talk a little less... :P She could have shortened it like she did with TO BE (if I remember correctly).

And that`s what`s bugging me also!! If I were in her place, I would sing all songs from my new album. I think people want to hear that stuff instead of old songs we hear on every concert. Or am I the only one who thinks that? :(

I would've rather heard Will than... oh, say... evolution.

YEAH! Instead of evolution and AUDIENCE I would rather hear Will and Criminal (It's a beautiful song IMO) :yes

I mean, some songs she performs like, every year: SURREAL, Boys&Girls, evolution...

Anyway, what's up with the Boys & Girls, SURREAL and evolution hate? They're all amazing songs and if they're amazing, why would the person who wrote the songs not want to perform them?

Nothing, actually, I really like those songs but it's just! in like, every Arena Tour every CDL she performed those songs!

I didn`t say that Ayu should never ever perform those songs again! And I never said I hated them!! I love those songs.. If you want it that way... I HATE UNITE!
I mean.. we`ll hear them twice a year (at least) and I think it`s better for her to sing those which she didn`t. Just calculate how many times she sung Boys & Girls since the song is old... OK.. now calculate how times she sung HOPE or PAIN.

Well I've been to her concerts before, and there is a reason why she sings old songs like UNITE!, evolution, and AUDIENCE...

They REALLY make the crowd go WILD!

I know they do ^^ But I bet most of us want new songs also :/ I don`t say she stops singing them all... I dunno. Put 2 new songs instead of old ones? Dunno

Well, I think the reason she sings these songs all the time is because she knows that not all of her fans can make it to every single one of her concerts, and so she sings for her fans who can only make the pilgrimage once in a while, or even once in their lifetime. Fans like me :D

So I was ecstatic when I heard her open Arena Tour 2007 (my first Ayu concert) with Evolution, and then go on to sing M, Surreal, Unite, Boys & Girls, Who..., some of her best stuff. Hearing M live nearly brought me to tears.

I've discovered that her concerts are really meant for those who can actually attend. It has to be experienced. So much is lost watching it on DVDs :)

So what happened to Trauma? :P

Hm.. True. I couldn`t attend any her concert :/ And downloading (buying) the DVD I thought: it`s better than live! I see the best scenes and there arent bunch of people..
BUT .. Live is better :D It brings out the feelings and all that.. like when you felt during M performance :yes ... I wanna cry on Ayus concert!! If I would, that would be on Who...

And Ayu`s para para dance? x3 LOL THAT I wanna see live.. Really did Uemarasan forgot to mention it or the wasnt on the concert? Sorry for double posting :(

Well, first of all, I didn't go to A Musuem :) Sorry for the confusion. I only went to this year's concert. She didn't perform Trauma or do her para para in Arena Tour 2007 (Tour of Secret) :P Most of the songs were from Secret. She performed appears, though. Yay!

No no.. I got you that you were on AT07 ^^ It`s kind of weird she didn`t perform Trauma.. That para para dance is kind of irritating lately..

Hehe, I guess the whole Trauma thing has died down now. Overall, I feel like I can't stand the song but when I watch the lives then I guess I don't mind, doing the lil dance is always fun ^^

Edit: Nevermind, it still seems to be popular in the CDLs xDDDDDDDD

If she were to perform all single tracks up to the point of A MUSEUM, there would have been 42 songs (Incl Connected, A Song Is Born). Surely you can see how such a set up wouldn't be feasible.
Only 20 of the 24 she sang were singles. It was a retrospect of her career at that point aka A museum of the songs in her career.

There's the issue of time and money. Ayu has a really all-or-nothing mindset, it appears: either she puts on a grand show or none at all. If she were to perform ALL the songs, each with a different feel to it, she'd more or less need to have lots more costumes/sets, and it would quickly add up to lots more money, I'd think. And she also wants to be sure to perform older songs that we all know and love, and figure in THOSE songs with ALL the new ones from her new album, and you'd have like a 3 hour concert XD

And then she'd have to do that 3-hour-concert over & over & over for all the cities she visits....I'd rather Ayu do a reasonable amount of songs and have it be just really spectacular and not rushed. Plus, when Ayu gets tired her voice gets wonky. :P

But I do see where you're coming from. For AT06 I know I definitely would've preferred Will over...UNITE or something.

I think she wants to keep Will a sort of mystery..

Like, people can decide for themselves what it'll look like, rather than she give them the visuals. Which is probably why it didn't get a PV and such..

^ For some reason ever since I saw the "part of Me" set at AT07, I imagine that's how "Will" would've looked; gorgeous kimono, really royal set. XD

I, for one, was GLAD she performed EVOLUTION on AT07 AGAIN. It was my first Ayu concert. I would have been disappointed if she didn't sing it :P

I think it's easy to say which songs she you're so sick of hearing if you just watch the DVDs of her concerts. Think about the fans who can only make it to an Ayu concert perhaps only once in their lifetimes. Not everyone is rich and can fly to Japan so easily :)

She did perform momentum for AT07 :D But I don't think I heard It Was... Need to refresh my memory! It's only been three months!

expect it would be on the main setlist with those gorgeous gowns and effects...XP

She kept forgetting the lyrics to it and so she decided to stop trying to sing it at her concerts. XD

You know, I was watching my MY STORY DVD last night when it occurred to me that she DIDN'T perform all of her songs from MY STORY. Then it occurred to me that she did the same thing with (miss)understood, and then I proceeded to be confused and wonder why this was because... doesn't she perform all of the songs from Secret in her most recent tour? Or am I making that up?

I have yet to see the "part of Me" performance, but I've seen pictures of it, and I totally agree with you! For a second there I thought that WAS for "Will" and then remembered that it wasn't.

Oh man, I really wish she would perform "Connected." I've only seen one performance of it ever. D:

Yup, no It Was, Startin', Born to Be..., Blue Bird, and Beautiful Fighters (darn, most underrated Ayu song next to Honey, in my opinion) when I watched. Come to think of it, I'm not sure Jewel was performed either...

Oh wait, I think it was performed! Silly me :P

The costume for her Part of Me segment was used in Secret, too. Very effective in both instances, I think.

Well, Startin', Born To Be..., and BLUE BIRD were all in the (miss)understood tour. =/

^^^She (Like a lot of Pop Artists) doesn't perform an entire album when she tours.

The Secret tour misses out: Startin', It Was, Born To Be..., Beautiful Fighters and BLUE BIRD (Plus, I think Momentum and JEWEL were switched around on certain concerts). If I'm right about the JEWEL/Momentum thing, then each concert missed out 6 songs from a 14 track album, which is a higher percentage than MY STORY and (miss) understood.

If I got it right, she sung glitter/fated instead of JEWEL/momentum on the last concert.. I think :/
