both of them are my most favorite female japanese singers..
well, ayu got the first, and namie got the 2nd~ and both have different taste of music.. as ayu got the rock pop kind of songs and namie got the Hip Hop kind of songs, o yea, she can dance!! love her dance so much!!! i always enjoy her live DVD concerts. we can't compare them coz they have different kind of music.. |

I love both of them, I like Ayumi's music more than namie, but I like Namie too, she's really really good in her lives, but it doesn't mean that Ayu is bad, Namie is better in live. but Ayumi is better in her music..

i think theyre both amazing, but their music is very different (now). when namie was mostly pop i would think its fair to compare them, but now, since she's hip hop, i think their music is too different. ;)

Hmmm....if it was Lyric-wise, Ayumi...but if it was music-wise, Namie 'cuz I'ma huge (any) R&B fan and Ayumi really hasn't made any R&B songs ('bout the closest R&b song I've heard of Ayu was Daybreak (hal's mix)...if it had any R&B in it) Plus, I find myself lovin' more of Namie's songs than Ayumi's.

too different for a fair comparison. i'm a bigger fan of Ayu because i've heard all of Ayu's songs. Namie's music before the hiphop scene i'm less familiar with though i like some of the stuff i've heard from that era. I listen to hiphop more than rockpop, but Ayu's still number one because i just like her more. No real reason....lol. but still i'd say Namie has the same level of talent just in different areas.

to the person who said Namie doesn't do R&B ... you're wrong. Namie does have R&B songs, she started with that first (I HAVE NEVER SEEN, Say the word etc). And "Hip-Pop" is just Namie's term for Hip-Hop influenced pop, so, yeah, it's pretty much hip-hop ;)
