127.9 talkin 2 myself / ayumi hamasaki
56.80 SHINE/Ride on / Tohoshinki
35.40 Bokura Barairo no Hibi / Onitsuka Chihiro
26.80 Tsunaide Te / Hitoto Yo

Hopefully this thing isn't telling lies! :P

Partino 14th September 2007 11:53 AM

are those the estimated first day sales???? that would be awesome 127.9k at the first day ... yippey

Kashoku 14th September 2007 11:54 AM

Holy Crap! That would be AMAZING if it were true!!!!

njanjayrp 14th September 2007 11:58 AM

A bit way too much for the 1st day sales, ne?Sure if those were weekly it would be reasonable, or well maybe japs. really love the song XD.

tokyoxjapanxfan 14th September 2007 12:08 PM

hm, this would indicate that its really popular in Japan right now, right?..haha, thats a huge first day sales xD would be awesome!!

Partino 14th September 2007 12:09 PM

my bad .. NINKI are the first week sales predictions ... nha ... they are actually lower than glitter/fated

*Petit* 14th September 2007 12:09 PM

NINKI doesen't equal sales at all, only interest as shown by about 400 people. :rolleyes

Raleigh 14th September 2007 12:11 PM

Yeah true. Let's hope the sales will be high for the first week though.

i second your hopes ;)

tourniquet 14th September 2007 01:05 PM

koda had nearly the same indicator for her ai no uta single. probably you can be assured that she'll get her number one, but I don't think it'll surpass 200k overall by any means.

Amuro_Ray 14th September 2007 01:17 PM

at least, it is much more than Tohoshinki.
I think it is over 80% can get #1 again.
Besides, the rate is same as Koda last week :p

Partino 14th September 2007 01:18 PM

because you don't like the single or because you like it and don't have enough trust in the japaneses taste?? which one is it?

ayumisrael 14th September 2007 01:28 PM

it says that out of 400 people that were asked about it 128 were interested.
kumi's interest in FREAKY was a lower number and it sold 195,000 until now...

talkin' 2 myself has a chance to sell over 200,000 or even more, or less, we'll see xD
By any means it has to chance to sell over 200,000
as kumi's FREAKY was a lower number and it sold 195,000 until now.

tourniquet 14th September 2007 01:46 PM

well, if her freaky summer single can't even reach last year's Blue Bird sales (or even FREAKY's) I don't think any rock single of her has the power to surpass the magical spot.

at this point we should already know that japan is not going for taste either. it's just a fact that hikki sits on her flavor of life-throne this year and no female artist is going anywhere near there.
I mean glitter was practically a triple A-side and had one summer song, a slow rock song and a ballad - much more variety + a short movie (something which she hasn't done before). now it's two rock songs, one arranged version and the typical stuff either no one cares for or which will find the way onto the album anyway.

well, I'm very interested in how this single fares, but I personally just don't see anything which could kick this thing over 200k.

ayumisrael 14th September 2007 01:52 PM

FoL got its sales because it the Drama tie-in, not just because it was a suddenly original good huge song from hikki.
If ayu had the same tie in with the crappiest song on earth then it would sell 650,000.
That's for first.

Singles that will sell good are singles with good tie-ins/really good promoted, outragous things, or really really catchy pop songs.
The crappiest song on earth with a huge tie-in will sell good, the best song on earth someone could release with not so good tie-ins can sell nothing.
That's how sales in Japan go.
t2m has a chance to sell over 200,000, it's not 100% it will happen, but still it has a chance.

never claimed another thing. but right now it seems there won't be another phenomenon like this anytime soon.

and look at ayu's tie-ins... also nothing out of the ordinary.

Partino 14th September 2007 02:05 PM

well heaven had a huge tie-in and sold pretty well ... but glitter fated had secret on it which was a tie-in for a movie but did'nt sold as much as heaven did

Yeah though usually when it's a panasonic tie-in, it ends up sellong decent to good.
STEP you had the panasonic tie-in and it was the best selling single of ayu in 2005.
BLUE BIRD had BF that even wasn't the main song a panasonic tie-in and was the best selling single of ayu in 2006 with around 260,000 (after Startin' that sold 188,000).
So now glitter/fated had no panasonic tie-in and now t2m has, so maybe it has a good chance to get up the sales, like it did with BLUE BIRD, and STEP you.

bluegie 14th September 2007 02:49 PM

I dun think Panasonic has a huge impact in terms of sales. BLUE BIRD got better sales than startin' because it has a bigger (and better) promotion tactic (better covers, three versions of single, different making of, posters as bonus, selling on the street, etc). I won't even say HEAVEN sold pretty well (in terms of cd sales in 2004). It's normal to see ayu selling over 300K before she showed us BnD/Pride (and BnD has, well, Panasonic tie-in). and since BnD her sales kinda fluctuates a bit.. from Bnd first week 70K --> Startin'/BTB ~110K --> BLUE BIRD ~160K --> glitter ~110K.

elepop 14th September 2007 02:50 PM

#1, obviously. I hope it can sale well.

B&D/Pride sold considering people knew about miss album that will be released a month later and since then it kinda ruined... but generally sales decrease anyway. so It's not like it helps.

bluegie 14th September 2007 02:52 PM

Yeah but if it's something like 1LOVE (normal ayu song), I'm sure that 2004 year end single wouldn't sold under 100K.. :P

Anyhoo... waiting for ayu to step on the no. 1 place again :D

TITANIC 14th September 2007 03:33 PM

is that estimated??

Neo Daydream 14th September 2007 03:41 PM

YAY! I believe it cuz T2M is freakin awesome!

TITANIC 14th September 2007 03:48 PM

yea hope too..
who will release single at same day with ayu??

Beauty4123 14th September 2007 04:08 PM

dosen't look so bad. let's hope this prediction is true.

One of the reasons why STEP you/is this LOVE? sold so much was because of the my name's WOMEN PV; that single actually has some value to it.

As for BLUE BIRD, one of the reasons was because of the 3rd additional version.

Raleigh 14th September 2007 04:34 PM

Yeah and it was voted by her TA fans as their favourite, if I remember well. She should do it again.

cloud♥honey 14th September 2007 05:19 PM

Probably the sales will be:

#1 Day - 100,000 copies
#1 Week - 160,000 copies
#2 Week - 45,000 copies
#3 Week - 20,000 copies

The single is kinda awesome! XD

freedreamer 14th September 2007 05:30 PM

just do better than glitter.fated and i bet most of us will be happy..right?

TITANIC 14th September 2007 05:51 PM

1st week 160,000 is that not very high??

ayu_fan929 14th September 2007 06:19 PM

^It's around the levels of BLUE BIRD and STEP you/is this LOVE?

Hmm...u have point about that....but I think it would have been different in Ayu's case. I mean, how long has it been since we've heard a ballet from Hikki...jeez what 2004 or 2005 (I think!) I believe many people good excited for Hikki's song bcuz yea, it's a huge tie-in for her but it's a ballet and Hikki makes good impressions on people when she sings ballet. (IMO)

Ayu, on the other hand, was like right at the end of the year (Jewel...I believe) I think if it was song by Ayumi, it wouldn't have been as exciting or just another one of those already heard ballets from Ayu. I'm not tryin' to make this Ayu vs. Hikki thind bcuz even if Kumiko performed the insert song, I don't think it would've been special at all. Sorry to say this but can u imagine hearing Kumiko's voice every episode??? Seriously, could u?:(

B&D/Pride sold 133,000 the only singles of ayu that sold less than 100,000 are poker face, YOU and For My Dear... =P
All the rest are Gold, platinum, X2 Platinum, Million etc.

*Petit* 14th September 2007 07:19 PM

It's not easy to tell why something sells a LOT and some other singles sell ordinarily (for the artist) and except for the fact that some movie tie ins always are the biggest sellers, it's impossible to tell virtually. You can't even tell which movie tie ins will sell the most upfront, sometimes things end up flopping. AYu has sold a lot with very different tie ins and I think in her case, because of the heavy advertisement going on no matter what, it's more depending on whether the public actually like the song or not. Of course a good visual tie in helps, as the audience will associate the music with that visual.

Ayu has been trying different things, sometimes with luck (evolution/M) and sometimes not so lucky (B&D), this move will be exciting to see. I have higher hopes for this than B&D, not only because B&D was jinxed by the album, but because these type of moves to a more edgy style have proven more successful in the past. The first one the transition from dance and pop to the style of I am.. and the other example being STEP you back in 2005. I know STEP you was definetly pop and not rock, but it was a step away from the usual gentle dancey pop of fairyland and glitter.

A good sign. I'm hoping the single will do well, it deserves to.

glitter and fairyland are both summer songs though (they both were released on summer) and they're not ayu's main style. (Thanks god) and I love them though.

*SCREAMS*
Why do people do this everytime a NINKI is come out.
NINKI are not related to sales at all. They are not a prediction of first day sales. They are not a prediction of total sales. NOTHING.
Purely a survey for the ORICON magazine, which is usually an OK reflection of who will chart the highest that week, and then who will have the next highest new entry.

AyuGAME 15th September 2007 02:16 AM

OMG! there is tohoshinki...i remember that their last single sales very WELL in the first week, and drop down very fast in second week...i think their last single sales higher than glitter/fated
hopefully ayu fans in japan will buy her new single like crazy, so it can keep her number one single strike

Higher in 1st week sales, but not higher overall.

Kobayashiwoof 15th September 2007 05:28 AM

She will sell about the same as Kumi's Ai No Uta, considering they have the exact same amount of interest.

freedreamer 15th September 2007 05:51 AM

^toho is kinda like competition to Ayu..woosh...but Ayu will get #1 sooner or later anyway...bahh

she is like on the top of all the age grps

AyuGAME 15th September 2007 09:26 AM

but i want ayu to get number one single strike longer...it will be a hard battle between tohoshinki and ayu...hopefully ayu can win it, and get number one weekly position of oricon chart

Kobayashiwoof 15th September 2007 09:41 AM

it wont be any hard, AVEX choose AYumi to release on this date for that reason.

Kodayumi 15th September 2007 10:00 AM

This better be fake, because this single should rock the whole world and dp better. :D

Qt Mashi 15th September 2007 10:13 AM

i hope the sales are higher than glitter single!

No it won't, FREAKY's number was lower than that and it sold more than ai no uta. It has nothing to do with sales. or just a bit.

DA1SUK1DAY01691 15th September 2007 11:59 AM

She has over half the interest, and beats them all combined. So we multiply this by like, 100 (considering at least 400,000 buy singles), and we get around 128 thousand.

That must mean something. :)

Hopefully, she can beat seond by like.... 50,000. :)

AyuGAME 15th September 2007 06:24 PM

^it will be hard..trust me...but i still keep my faith on her

kournikova 15th September 2007 07:03 PM

I have a feeling... talkin 2 myself can sale a whopping outrageous number.....

freedreamer 15th September 2007 07:08 PM

^i wish! haha..but i doubt...

ayuayu798 15th September 2007 09:12 PM

Yea me too! She deserves it ! I think it will sell pretty high or at least higher than glitter/fated.

extepan 16th September 2007 07:57 AM

that's a big lead!!

Ryuuzaki 16th September 2007 09:02 AM

i hope talkin'2myself sells better than glitter/fated, it is such an awesome single

Jwiz 16th September 2007 04:43 PM

it will exceed glitter/fated 's sales...hope that this single will sell better than BLUE BIRD's
