My overall opinion of the album now that i've listened to it over and over, it's definitely her worst studio album ever, lol... I don't mean it in a bad way, this just is'nt as good as the rest. Blackout just has no amazing songs on it, they are all pretty much on the same level...

I like it but it's nothing special...

Exactly. I wouldn't say it's her worst though, it's better than. '...Baby One More Time' and 'Oops!... I Did It Again'. But I can't see any other Billboard top 20's coming out of it. Okay maybe one and the rest out of the top 40. Ugh, well I know what I mean. :P

bondingo 28th October 2007 03:53 AM

I can't believe that Break the Ice is honestly supposed to be the second single. It completely sucks next to Piece of Me, Radar, Ooh Ooh Baby, and Hot as Ice. On it's own, it barely even qualifies as a good album track, never mind a single. Her promotional team really does not care at all if they release this instead of some of the much better alternatives. If they do, they best be releasing many more singles. This album is not bad at all, and it could be highly successful with the right singles chosen.

Also, it's been projected by some guy at Billboard that the album is expected to sell somewhere between 200-300k in the first week alone. Those aren't bad sales for the current music market.

Weslicious 28th October 2007 03:55 AM

^^^Break The Ice is awesome. Should have been the lead single. Radar is filler when compared to 'Break The Ice'.
Actually, I'm loving how the tracks on this album have divided fans with what needs to be a single. Her last albums have been obvious. This time, personal taste come's into it.

Break the ice FTW.

I have to agree here. Radar is not a very appealing song. Break the Ice is the shiz.

But Get Back is the supreme shiz.

I don't care how bad her personal life is but these music makes me love her again

bondingo 28th October 2007 09:28 AM

I can't believe some people don't absolutely love Radar. The minute I heard it I was like "Oh yeah, this song is the absolute most awesome thing I've heard in a long while".

But who actually thinks they'll release a Deluxe Edition? If not now, then in the irritating way they did with Beyonce's B'Day.

Lol, alternately, I can't understand how some folks absolutely love Radar. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a decent song and I can listen to it (but sure can't dance to it), but that's it. It's just not all that appealing to me.

Now, Toy Soldier, omG, that song kills it for me. :luv2 "This time a need a SOLDIER! A really bad-ass SOLDIER! That know how to take, take care of me..." Excuse me while I go dance around and act like a rabid fanboy.

JaysenRyan 28th October 2007 05:56 PM

Well I have no clue why but the post I posted was erased (I'm sick of mods erasing posts that have no reason to be erased)

But anywho my fave songs are Radar, Piece Of Me, Get back, Ooh Ooh baby, and Hot As ice. Idc what ppl say I adore this cd. Idc if its fake and overproduced. It's one shallow indulgence I am not above.

As for Radar VS Break The Ice...... RADAR RADAR RADAR RADAR!!!! FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that this album isn't her best, but it's so nice to hear new Britney material. I really like some of the songs, as for the others, they're okay, I'm sure they'll grow on me.
Right now I'm addicted to Piece of Me, Break the Ice and Toy Solder (K-Fed anyone?).

I didnt even think her album was gonna be SO ****IN GOOD. Im impressed. All the songs are perfect..... geez..... well....I am adicted now
o.o

cloud♥honey 29th October 2007 11:56 PM

To be honest, the B-Sides didn't call me much attention but I love Toy Soldier, Hot As Ice, Piece of Me, Ooh Ooh Baby and Heaven On Earth so much that I don't have words to describe that.

But the best track title goes to... HOT AS ICE BABE! The lyrics are awesome, funny and sarcastic as well. I love that. Piece of Me lyrics sounds so horrible to me, the one only thing I like in the song is the awesome arrangement.

Dreamin Startin 30th October 2007 07:22 AM

Weslicious 30th October 2007 09:06 PM

I have come to the conclusion that Get Naked and Freakshow are awful :laugh

Also, what did they do to 'Everybody'? That 'J-J-J-R' tag sounds like something from free software that puts a watermark on mp3's until you buy the product. Shame, coz otherwise that song is HOT.

that is about it.

bondingo 31st October 2007 08:08 AM

So even though I already had all the songs in high-quality MP3 form, I still bought the album today. I'm not sure why, since with the effort she's been putting into her career, I certainly wasn't doing it to support her. I guess it's just because I'm an avid CD collector. I really need to stop buying CDs when I already have them on my computer. It's a waste of money :(

Dreamin Startin 1st November 2007 01:05 PM

Quote:

BILLBOARD: 1-day sales: at 124,000 and predicts #1 debut!

Britney Spears looks to have a clear path to top The Billboard 200.

First-day sales from the eight chains that report to Nielsen SoundScan's Building Charts put Spears' Jive/Zomba release "Blackout" at 124,000 on the report released today (Oct. 31).

That is more than double the number of units posted by Carrie Underwood's chart-topping "Carnival Ride," which rounded up 49,000 sales from the start of the tracking week through close of business yesterday. That album is currently in the runner-up position.

Zomba estimates "Blackout" will open in the range of 330,000-350,000, a ballpark that falls in line with her Building Chart total.

Since the Building Charts' inception, six of the seven weeks' Wednesday leaders were also No. 1 on The Billboard 200 when final charts were compiled with data from all reporting sellers. Jimmy Eat World's "Chase This Light" was the only Wednesday leader that did not hold its pole position.

The Building Charts also seem to confirm that the nation's biggest seller, Wal-Mart, will not report sales on its U.S. exclusive, the Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden," as that much-anticipated album is missing from the Wednesday list. Wal-Mart usually blocks its proprietary titles from appearing on Top Comprehensive Albums, as was the case with its Garth Brooks exclusives.

Anderson Merchandisers and Handleman Company, the racks that stock music at Wal-Mart, are among the eight accounts who provide data to Nielsen SoundScan's Building Charts. The remaining six reporting merchants are Trans World Entertainment, iTunes, Best Buy, Circuit City and Target.

"In the Zone," Spears' last studio album, opened with 609,000 in 2003 when it became her fourth No. 1 album. The Eagles' last major album, the live "Hell Freezes," began at 267,000 units when it posted the first of two weeks it spent in the top slot of The Billboard 200.

Tbh that's not an excuse, not for that, if you heard it. I'm really regretting buying 'Blackout' over 'Headstrong' now. Thanks Britters. D:~

Wish you had waited huh?! XD You should have just illegal downloaded the songs and be happy with that. Well, its okay....your supporting her music not her personality! :yes Personally, no one likes Britney. They like her music...and ass (as stated on VH1!)! SO look at it that way austin!

I'm a masochist. I still wanna love Britney. Hit me with your drunken antics baby one more time.

Oh, so you all heard it too? I'm glad I wasn't the only one. It really was disappointing that she couldn't even say something for her fans. The second phone call was even worse, since Britney wasn't even there at all. Alli needs to quit speaking for her. The silence and lack of caring should speak for itself. I know it did for me, and it honestly makes me regret buying Blackout, especially since I already had all the songs :\

I'm sorry Jake but I laughed at your last statement. You, austin, and Wes rushed to get that album like there was no tomorrow. I feel sad for you guys though. Like I said in my other post, you guys are supporting her music but not her...look at it that way! ;)

Since I can't hear what happened, can someone post what she said or rather what was said on the radio?

Well, I may have went out and bought it myself, but my Mom gave my the money to as a reward for getting a 100 on my History midterm, so really, I didn't lose anything. But then again, supporting Brit nowadays is pretty much losing part of your soul so I guess I did lose something :D

im losing a bit of Britney fandom myself BUT she is going through a major breakdown, and is probably badly influenced by her friends who should be picking up her life with her. But meh, its her, not me.

I think some folks are really overreacting to that interview. It wasn't nearly that bad. I read the comments here which lead me to expect something horrible like her having a "Whatever; I don't care" attitude. Also consider that she was woken up out of her sleep for an interview that she obviously didn't even want to do, but she did it anyway. She wasn't rude at all. There's really nothing to be upset about. We all should have known not to expect too much from this interview. Did you really think she was going to do some amazing, heartfelt, tear-jerking, change-the-world interview? LOWER your expectations. Disappointing as it may be, this is Britney right now, as it's been months and months before. There's nothing to be surprised about. If you're expecting otherwise from her you're only setting yourself up for disappointment.

But the interviewer asked her some things he shouldn't have asked, said some things he shouldn't have said, and his attitude toward her was condescending at times: "So your album's been out after all this time and all this drama that we've seen in the news and you've just watched a movie?" / "We know you've been on a good diet Britney; we've seen all of your drive-thrus" [What a smart remark] / "And do you feel like you're doing everything you can for your kids?" Comments like that were uncalled for.

But I think she did a good job explaining the way she feels about the media and other things, and she was sweet during her interview despite some of his rude remarks.

"At the end of the day you just have to know in your heart that you're doing the best you can." :yes

^ Excuse me, but I don't call deciding to have a shower in the middle of a planned interview 'doing it anyway'. But yeah, maybe I should lower my expectations, even if they are at almost rock-bottom.

Oh, and the more I listen to 'Blackout' the less I seem to like it now. :|
