4 hours is plenty of sleep. Seriously. That's how I much I tend to get.

I think 4 hours is good if you have a way to get up [alarms and so on..]

After a few hours though, you go into that deep sleep that is hard to get out of..

I consider myself lucky to get like 6 hours or more.. normally I get 4 or 5
And I agree with TH.. stop whining about it being a digital single.. you still get a PV and a cover, you still get a new song.. it's everything a physical single has minus the pretty packaging... you're basically getting everything you'd normally get... do you need the pretty packaging THAT bad? god.. you'll get it with the album

[Basically, no extra money = no extra money to pay for a physical case, booklet, DVD for the studio and the consumer. Overall, a digital release is very very cost effective :x]

Even though I've been wanting a physical winter ballad single from ayu really badly...but this digital single is not bad...we still get to see the cover and pv. The only down side is I don't get to hold it in my hands...lol Its good ayu is experimenting or else ppl will say her releases are predictable and blah blah blah..

BTW...is ayu promoting this song as a single or as the lead song of the new album?..or both? I would like to see her perform more than 1 song...unlike JEWELS last year.

It'll probably be the flagship song of the album.

Although, that other song that is getting a PV COULD get the treatment too.. but the fact is that she'll probably milk Together When... for all its worth and perform it at every show until the end of the year.

This song seems like it'll simply be a sort of "recut" single that comes out before the album. Everyone knows that it'll be on there so... that'll probably affect sales a whole lot. But if people like it, you never know!

Everyone watch. The digital "cover" for the single will be drop dead gorgeous and we won't even be able to have a physical copy such as a poster or what not.

That was what I wanted to say, too, basically. xD I don't mind complaining - but what for? ayu could release ALL her music digitally if she wanted to... And who knows, maybe they will release a poster, too?
I myself prefer the idea of a digital release, so people won't feel ripped off, because it's so close to the album.

I understand what you mean, and yes, I'm bothered that some people says things like "her lyrics are not deep anymore" "they are too much happy"...but when those songs were "deep", she was in pain, through a lot of suffering, thinking of retire....until she find the strength that she needed through her fans and music. If she's happy, her songs will be happy. If she's sad, her songs will be sad. I rather seeing her dancing around on an island, than having sad but good songs, knowing she is in pain. Poor Ayu...the only way I can support her is buying her music^^

Everyone goes through good and bad times. You can't help that she'll go through bad times. So when she writes lyrics that aren't as happy, of course it pains me that she had to endure the suffering that inspired the lyrics, but when I realize that it happens to everyone, I feel incredible pride in that she can transform pain into something beautiful, something that can help others.

I would rather say it hurts both if she releases Together When physically. This is a very wise move for avex. Knowing that a physical release of the single a month before the album WILL NOT do anything good at all. Well why not release a digital then? It won't break ayu's no. 1 streak. It can gives people a taste of what the 8th album may sound like. Also it's quite elegant to see that avex makes a cover for this digital release.

"Digital single" is just a term for the company to milk the fans. How many people really care about the ranking of the digital release? Well probly we do, but not as much as the oricon ranking. If Together When cannot top the download chart, we won't feel like it's end of the world. Everyone knows it will be on the upcoming album anywayz. BUT it's cheap to download a song rite? Many people are willing to pay 200 yen for a download instead of spending >1000 yen to buy a single (esp the album will be out very soon).

Similarly to bluegie, I'm feeling quite good about this decision. Seems avex have learned from the past mistakes of (miss)understood and Secret and are trying to boost the new album as best as they can.

If they released a physical single things wouldn't be so good. After the Bold&Delicious fiasco, which almost ruined her streak, avex won't risk it again and we all know that only hardcore fans will rush to buy a single a month before the release of an album. December is a pretty hectic time to release a single, almost everyone is releasing something for Christmas, meaning competition. They'd have to find her a week where no big act is releasing a single and it would still struggle with sales. Ayu is famous for her #1 streak and avex sure as hell wants to keep that.

On the other hand singles help to boost album sales, if the single is good so releasing a digital single with the same material as a single was a good choice. We won't be worrying about who his #1 and how many copies she has sold. If this song is a ballad, I'm pretty sure it'll attract attention. If it's a heartfelt ballad, it'll attract much more. So let's hope this song is really good so that it would push the album to sell really well.

it's a good back-up plan for future reference too, I mean, releasing digitally. If Ayu ever has a bunch of weeks with really good competition, she could just release digitally, and not lose anything. :P

Well I think the problem was that the last albums were badly planned. (m)u was awesome but Bold&Delicious turned off many potential buyers and the whole Geo thing made people reluctant to buy. Secret then had no single to promote it and thus no hype. This album seems to be planned more carefully but who knows... there are many other factors too including the fact that sales for everyone are slipping.
