Yukitora 4th December 2007 11:14 AM

The red team really out numbers white this year, even if you count MM as one group. Some of these people have been on the show so globtastic amounts of times :O

BUT LOL @ LEAH DIZON. I'm sorry that just literally made laugh out loud when I saw that. Don't get me wrong, I really like Leah and her album, but I would've never guessed she'd be on Kohaku.

NHK is probably inviting any new person that's popular enough to boost ratings.

ownsarai 4th December 2007 05:37 PM

Ayu and TOKIO on the same show...hmm...wonder if Ayu will cry during her performance. It has to be hard for her to see Tomoya...but nevertheless, I am happy about a new Ayu performance, I am also happy to see Gackt will be on it, too~ :D

sora2522 4th December 2007 05:38 PM

uhh, the breakup was mutual, so i doubt they're gonna go all boo-hoo...they did say that they were more like brother/sister...

Zemus 4th December 2007 05:42 PM

Ayu has no time to see him at all anyway. Because basically she will be there for 10 minutes or something. She will do her performance and leave right away because she has to prepare for the CDL 2007-2008.

Even so...after being together for so many years, you know there are still some kind of feelings there. And the song is pretty emotional, so you know, I just thought maybe Ayu might get caught up in the moment, but meh, what do I know...:innocent

I also forgot that she runs off right after her performance for CDL...:thud

the song's more emotional because someone recently passed away who was close to her. it was mentioned in her blog.

thanks for the list

namiie 4th December 2007 07:55 PM

Thanks for posting.

But ROFLMAO LEAH DIZON? Really?! Okay, this may just be because I don't like her period, but she doesn't deserve the prestige of Kouhaku. :irked I thought this was a show for people with either high sales or actual talent :laugh

Edit: Okay, wtf, no BoA? Or Hikki? Or Namie? Hopefully they're all busy or something because if not Kouhaku is just messing things up this year.

DestinyWishes 4th December 2007 07:56 PM

Thanks, why no Namie and Utada. They never do anything.

As you know, Namie is on tour and I'm sure she doesn't want to stop her tour just attend the wh0re rating show.

As for Hikki, she never attends stuff like that...I don't blame her because it seems like they want her to perform there just to get their ratings up. I would like for Hikki to perform there just once though. If she had performed there, I believe that she would have performed Flavor of Life of course. The red team would win for sure! XD

The list of performers are mainly from AVEX...yawn. Don't NHK ever get tired of having only AVEX artist there. (>_>) It's the same thing every year....avex, avex, avex, pony canyon, avex, avex....you get my point.

Kagome-chan 4th December 2007 08:08 PM

what are the number near the name?

ayu_fan929 4th December 2007 08:21 PM

^The number of times they will have appeared with this year's appearance.

BoA is on the list... and Kouhaku's lost a bit of it's prestige-ness.

namiie 4th December 2007 09:24 PM

^ OH LOL I see her there now :) Don't know why I missed it the first time~

njanjayrp 4th December 2007 09:32 PM

BoA, Yuna Ito, ERIKA, Shimatani, I really can't believe that none of them got invited, and yet Leah did XD

perfectdeath 4th December 2007 10:21 PM

thx for the news!
ayu rocks Kouhaku!!

DA1SUK1DAY01691 5th December 2007 03:17 AM

Not many new male artists... But I'm surprised KOME KOME CLUB is there. They weren't there last year were they?

AKB48, Berryz Koubou, and C-ute. Interesting... Ahaha. And I never knew Leah Dizon was that big... Sad that Ito Yuna hasn't been re-invited.

Wasn't it expected Ayumi would do Kouhaku though? ahaha. That's cool though.

mui-gei-tal 5th December 2007 04:02 AM

oh wow, the red team is loaded =o
thanks for the info!

I kind of agree. I mean I really didn't think of her one way or the other until I saw her Kayosai "performance", where it became obvious that in all her previous performances she was lip synching and that when she actually sings she can barely carry a tune (if at all) and she really wasn't a good performer otherwise either. I mean, I know she is an idol and a great singing voice isn't required but compare her to Cute, who was also on Kayosai any of those idols run circles around her in the singing and performing department.

ANYWAYS, I'm happy to finally see Gackt back on Kohaku - in fact he hasn't done any of the end of the year specials the last 2 years. The boys team will probably win as usual, but I'll be rooting for the girls.

somethinglost 5th December 2007 05:37 AM

I'm looking forward to this! =]

Kaiouforever 5th December 2007 09:43 AM

Where the HELL is Hikki? She DID have a SMASH single this year that sold a buttload of copies...why not on Kouhaku?

elepop 5th December 2007 04:32 PM

Looking forward to Ayu, AKB48, Morning Musume and BoA!

criminal 5th December 2007 05:40 PM

Ugh. Leah Dizon and no chatmonchy? It's surprising to see Nakagawa Shoko there, but I love her so it's all good.
Basically I'm excited for aiko, Ayumi, Mika, BoA, mihimaru GT, Ai Otsuka, ayaka, Angela Aki, Gackt, TOKIO and Porno Graffitti, just to name a few. :P Morning Musume and Kumizon too, I guess.

o_o I just realized that people who have sold 500k+ (Namie, Yuna) have been snubbed. wth?
AND OMG. YUI is the biggest-selling female this year besides Hikki who doesn't attend Kouhaku. Did YUI decline or something? It'd make sense because no way would Leah Dizon attend if it wasn't for someone pulling out.

wait, yuna sold 500k+??

if YUI declined, i'd have to go hunt her down and slap her (after getting her autograph, of course :D)

why isn't utada doing it either?! ._.; did she EVER do it? *tries to think of a year she performed*

I don't think Namie and Hikki are attending Kohaku any longer. Also Yuna hasn't had a really brilliant year. Most of her singles weren't successful and only her album got some spotlight. And yeah I'm guessing YUI declined since she's pretty popular lately.

Chandrachan 5th December 2007 06:46 PM

Sugoii - Ayu, Mika and Gackt!!
Arigatou for the link!! ^^

youthink 5th December 2007 06:59 PM

yeah!! We can see ayumi'sperformance on Kouhaku again!

Sad there is no Namie and tohoshinki.

Interesting, especially about the part where Leah Dizon's gonna be there. :laugh That oughta be interesting.

Thanks for the info.

criminal 5th December 2007 07:52 PM

Really, why all the negativity? Just because your favorites aren't there. Anyway, Hikki's a boring live performer. But I do agree it's disappointing not to see Namie there. She's dynamite.

Why don't you just watch the show and have some fun with it? It's an old Japanese tradition. People should just be glad that Japanese traditions are still alive in this day and age.

And if all you're seeing is avex, then all you're looking at are the J-pop stars and ignoring over HALF the performers in the show who sing enka or don't sing at all. Why doesn't anyone pay attention to the enka performers? Or the comedians in between? Or the special segments? There is more to the show than J-poptasticness!

If you think everyone's just there for a ratings ho-down then don't watch. Everytime I watch, I don't see that. I can see the fun everyone is having, especially the enka performers who prepare all year for this show. It's their one time in the year to really shine. And more than anything, it's reflective of the sense of community that's a part of the Japanese character. And I'm happy that they try to broadcast that in the show.

The world is however you choose to see it.

Luv ~Venus~ 6th December 2007 03:51 AM

Other than Namie dancing around on stage, what's the difference between her performances and Hikki's performances. :rolleyes Performances don't always have to be flashy you know. Try rewatching Hikki's live performances again! Just simply watching and listening to them sing (without pouncing around on stage) is great too....isn't that what enka do too?!

BTW, NHK has lost all of "its" tradition when they started letting no talent singers on the show....I'm not going to name names but most of those singers there just shouldn't be up there. Most of them up there and just there because of their sales. For peak sake, even though her sales aren't "high", why aren't singers like Crystal Kay aren't invitied to the show. That girl has an outstanding voice.

But what do I know...I'm just an American girl who lives in a country filled with both no talents and talents and me saying that most of those singers up there on the list shouldn't be on there is out of line.....:rolleyes

^expected lol
i think it will be same standard :D

criminal 20th December 2007 05:04 PM

I'm a little disappointed. Here's what I think.

aiko - Shiawase. I could do with a little Hoshi no Nai Sekai in the 30%+ ratings, but at least it's not another Yokogao.
ayaka - Peace loving people ~Special piano version~. WHAT. THIS IS NOT GOOD. For today? Jewelry day? Oh hell, I'd do fine with Why?. Nice song and all, but that's it.
Angela Aki - Sakurairo. Thank god it isn't something uplifting. If ayaka can't deliver the tears, Angela Aki will.
Ai Otsuka - CHU-LIP. Are you kidding me. [Question mark removed on purpose] I haven't heard the song, but I know for a fact that it's got nothing against HEART.
Koda Kumi - Ai no Uta. Eh, I guess this was expected. The song defines her year. Lackluster.
Nakagawa Shoko - Sorairo Days. SHOKOTAN~~! I love you. I hope you rock this amazing song.
Mika Nakashima - LIFE. This was expected. Um, yeah, I've seen so many performances of this song, it's like, really, um, I DON'T KNOW. I hope there's a dance routine in there just for the WTFACTOR.
Ayumi Hamasaki - Together When.... This, too, was expected. This song was done by an excellent composer so I hope Ayumi does this song justice. And that includes a dress with a diameter of at least 3 feet.
Hello!Project - Special LOVE Mix etc. It's Morning Musume's 10th appearance, so they better make it special. Seems like they will. Um so, I hope to see Kanashimi Twilight or Mikan and Tokaikko Junjou.
BoA - BoA Winter Ballad Special. Let's not make this a snoozefest, eh? Props for avex for milking BoA's real hits right before a hiatus.
mihimaru GT - Gazen YEAH!. Excellent song choice. Now I just hope they won't be first to perform.
Leah Dizon - Koi Shiyou♪. I like this song. I don't like the idea of Leah Dizon on Kouhaku, though.

Akikawa Masafumi - Sen no Kaze ni Natte. It's like CAN YOU CELEBRATE? all over again. :O
w-inds. - Beautiful Life. I have no idea what this song is like, but all I know is that LOVE IS THE GREATEST THING is a cool song so they should've chosen that or idk.
Gackt - RETURNER~Yami no Shuuen~ etc. I like this song. o_o
Sukima Switch - Kanade. Marine Snow, pls. I miss your horribly nasal voice, lead singer of Sukima Switch.
TOKIO - Seishun (SEI SYuN). Would've liked Honjitsu, Mijukumono.
Porno Graffitti - Link. I love this song and I quite like this band. I would've been happy with Bears too, but Link is amazing. I hope they do this song justice and don't disappoint all the high school students that were so eager to see them when they got polled. [Including me]
Makihara Noriyuki - GREEN DAYS. How he qualified for Kouhaku remains a mystery. It's a nice song, though the winter bells during August were a bit awkward.

[Sorry if my post is too non-Ayumi for an Ayumi News board. Feel free to trash it at your discretion, mods.]

CHAS_AYU 20th December 2007 05:10 PM

lol I think Ai Otsuka should do CHU-LIP it was her best song this year. HEART wasn't realy all that popular. PEACH would be a good idea too! but I think CHU-LIP was more popular. =)!

CHU-LIP was popular, yeah, but it doesn't hold a candle against Pocket or HEART when it comes to vocals or lyrics. Sadly, popular is what Kouhaku seems to be going for this year...after all, they invited Leah Dizon (LMAO), and to be honest I've heard better at karaoke :innocent
